Andrew Darqui Some prop dunks are pretty sick. Some (non-blatant) push off dunks are pretty sick. Absolutely every dunker i've watched has dunked on low rims at some point, whether it's in an actual contest or in some dunk mix. If someone isn't as creative or "original", they might steal a dunk. If someone doesn't have as much vert as his competitors, he might rely more on props or some boosts. If dunkers are competing on the same hoop, it all evens out in the end. Most fans aren't purists & most judges are clueless: those are the constraints. Dunkers who are purists themselves are great for the sport, I mean they keep it grounded & are good role models. But it can also be a slippery slope, purists tend to inject alot of negativity into those things that they love when they see youngins/outsiders encroaching. It's starting to look like a battle between the "purists" and the "progressives", typical evolution of sport I imagine - purists normally lose though, so be careful to not deprecate yourselves. As for me personally, I guess i'm finding it more annoying seeing a few dunkers and a few negative but not accomplished "hater-dunkers" fuel this debate even more than it should be fueled, turning it into some futile campaign that won't actually end well but will instead just cause alot of fissures. The dunk game has evolved & improved considerably over the last 10 years, fact - not opinion. peace.

I saw that dunk and thought the same thing. I hate those dunks in general. It's one thng when a pro does it with adults. but when joe bloe dunker does it, it's more infuriating than anything impressive.

Like imagine if I, while coaching at MSC, was jumping over little children and such ... i'd have hoped i'd be fired.
