WVN looked ridiculous @ 400m.. so easy for him. Bolt-level easiness.

Gardiner looked good.. he went out FAST for 300m.

Gardiner vs WVN, the big show?

Still don't see anyone beating WVN though  :ninja:

YESSSS!!!!!!!! I am so happy for gatlin and feel bad for bolt. I didn't know gatlin had it in him but he managed to do it. It's just like the marquez win over pacquiao.

Gatlin deserved it over the negative booing from the crowd, this is a stick it moment to the crowd for booing him. Also that win he almost had before messing up and bolt winning, now gatlin finally wins and I am so pleased for him.

EDIT: I just found bolt came third, coleman second. Ah well Bolt still a legend but so happy for gatlin.
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm

Arm also aids the legs in driving it down with power - seifullaah73

^^ i'm staying away from it until i see it, but i've heard about it from several different sources.

awesome screen cap of Gatlin .. I basically write off cheaters forever .. but, it is impressive if he's clean & got this W, at his "old age", and was able to defeat the King. Can't really hate on that.. plus he gets booed/shitted on all the time -> if he paid his dues and has stayed clean, that has to really suck.

Almaz_Ayana is a beast. self coached apparently too. Destroyed everyone yet again, in the women's 10k.

some quotes from mo on his recent 10k win

http://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/40834447

Quote
"It was one of the toughest races of my life," said Farah. "The guys gave it to me, it wasn't about Mo, it was about 'how do we beat Mo?'

"You had the Kenyans, the Ethiopians, the Ugandans, everybody working as a team against me. Fair play to them, they worked it hard and they chucked everything at me.

"At one point in the middle of the race I wasn't thinking I was going to lose, but I thought 'this is tough, this is tough'."

I don't personally like drug cheats, but after paying his dues especially after the media keep attacking him as 2 time drug cheats, when the first one wouldn't really count it as intentional, but still you have to be very strict in everything. But after all he has done you can't keep attacking him.

I think the blame should be placed more the people giving the punishment that it should be life time ban, but the hard thing is to know he did it intentionally.

But ye good work from gatlin, usain has a good reaction but because he is tall the lean makes him slow down, so maybe coming upright a bit earlier may help him?

Coleman I don't know if he has the capabiities of getting below sub 9.8. But we'll see.
onto the relays for bolt.

Michael johnson on point about how bbc media has potrayed gatlin as the villain since he became a threat to bolt in 2015 even when in 2012 he was not booed. But This steven cram a commentator of bbc sport will continue with his hate against gatlin.
When will they learn this is not going to help clean the sport.

USA again take the gold in the 100m womans final, I thought that elaine thompson would win it and in a big way, but something happened and elained just backed down and slowed down. But so close between bowie and talou, great race. Just like gatlin got the win bowie gets in a win and what a lean to win it.
Just perfect. Great job.

Personally I think it's very optimistic to believe that Bolt never doped. Not saying he definitely did but I wouldn't blindly cheer on Bolt and boo Gatlin, that seems unfair. Both are great athletes though that's for sure.

Absolutely love watching Coleman. I could literally watch his starts over and over again. He just beasts out of the blocks and its amazing.
GOALS

Squat 340x3               Power clean 265

BP 225x3                    100m - 11.5

Reporter asked Bolt, gatlin, coleman in the press conference "The times this year seems to be way a bit slow compared to before, could this have anything to do with the more strict anti doping policies" and i'm paraphrasing

and bolt and gatlin became quite defensive and annoyed.....  :ninja:

I thought it was a pretty good question.....

I remember that. It makes you think of the times of around 9.6 seconds and now its stuck at 9.9, 9.8 best. But you can see why they would be defensive cos they are indirectly being accused of doping.

But I guess anyone would be annoyed if they were accused of doping even though they weren't so who knows, we take it with a grain of salt.

it's a fair question for sure.. maybe not to bolt/gatlin/coleman in that moment, but, definitely a fair question overall.. times were getting insane, everyone running under 9.8, with 9.7's and 9.6's, even 9.5's for bolt.. all of that "fire" seemed to disappear. Now, a 9.8 and even a low 9.9 is back to winning everything.

so many people over the years got busted, including Tyson Gay & Gatlin himself, as well as several of Bolt's teammates.

Bolt's response was a bit over the top..

I still hope he's clean.

Also, Blake kinda just "shows up" in 2012.. :ninja:

Nice, they will be showing it on the bbc channels and online. Excited. Bolt not doing the 200m as he sees the risk of losing it is quite high. Should be exciting.

100m prospects: degrasse, gatlin (little to some chance), yohan blake recovering well, new american talent and usain bolt.

Then you have van neekirk and his blasting away the competitions in the 400m and breaking records. I don't see kirani james or the american guy keeping up with him.

I bet Bolt is kicking himself now after the 100m. Bolt is a phenomenal 100m sprinter but to me his 200m has always been where he is the standout as nobody can match his top speed and speed maintenance. However, most importantly getting a bad start is a lot less detrimental in the 200m in comparison to the 100 because you have the time to make up. Despite the loss Bolt is a legend.

Yeah I can understand the frustration though. Ever since the Ben Johnson saga the results have always been overshadowed with suspicion.

Blake got a suspension early in his career for using stimulants. He really came out of the shadows in 2011 when he won the World Champs after Bolt's infamous false start. Unfortunately for Blake he's just had a tumultuous time with injuries and as a sprinter to get to your peak you need to be injury free and sustain that. Michael Johnson apart from his speed and being up until recently the world's greatest 200/400m sprinter in history was very fortunate in that he was durable and didn't have many injuries along the way.

With regards to Gatlin of course I agree that it's a pity he has used PEDs in the past. However, you've got to admire his resilience to come back after 2 doping bans and still being a force in his mid 30's. A lot of other people would've received a 4 year ban and given it all away and nobody would blame them.
