i'll post the one I have later, I don't like it. curious to see what brands people use (who like or dislike their vest). t0ddday? lbss?

i've seen some nice ones that aren't adjustable but they seem to fit really good.. dno

me and t0ddday have the same one, i think, although i'm not sure how he got 20lbs into his. mine has maxed out at 13lbs, dunno where to put the additional 2lbs of weights i have. i like it otherwise, hugs my body well and i can wear it under clothes (chunky sweater or sweatshirt) with no one able to see it.

I have one too, I remember when I used to dunk with it, and felt so heavy, and was actually lighter than I am now. I think back then with a weight vest I was at ~92 kg, and now I'm ~95.
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

I dont have a weight vest but somewhere around here I have one of the weight belts....

I never wore it continuously like Toddday or LBSS but it had strong potentiation during dunk sessions (hour on/15 mins off). Easy 2-3 inches for those few minutes. May have to try the one LBSS linked, the belt likes to chaff hardcore lol

I don't know if you remembered the time I used a weighted vest. I used a homemade weighted vest.

I had sheets of leather, I cut out a template for a vest, double layer, sewed the major areas, cut holes in first layer in different areas to fill with sand and sew it back and I used to do sprints in them.

good times.
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up

EHOH! I'm curious about this as well.  I was looking at the 150lb weight vests, I think Vmax or something makes them and as far as ik they have two different styles, one for comfort and one for OH mobility.  I will probably purchase one in a few weeks or so only because it has free shipping and upload pics and give a review.

As far as my old weight vest, i think it was a 20 or 40lb one from walmart, Golds gym brand I think, something cheap.  It did the job for what I needed it too, just running sucked in it because it'd come loose so definitely go for quality.

Ive always wanted to try out a weightvest, especially while playing basketball. I remember reading about weightbelts being better as they dont affect your posture. Also the weight is centered near your center of gravity, so movements arent affected either. Thats the idea at least.

i have an xvest and it works really well. the adjusting straps really makes a tight fit. its not very comfortable if a 20-40lb+ vest is slamming into you because of a loose fit.

i use the vest before for light jump drills. line hope, hurdle hops.. gets tiring quickly if you use it for near max jumps.

walk more. resting HR to low 40s.

I've used one in the past to play with it for 30 minutes and then take it off and see what happens. You feel light, but you (at least me) don't jump higher. You're so tired, both neurally and cardio-wise from wearing it that your legs collapse in the plant. If anything, it makes you more muscle-bound for a while. Maybe it's good for standing vertical jumps, in that sense.

i can't imagine that a belt would stay in place very well. the vest i posted earlier hugs tightly around my chest and so feels very natural, just as if i were 13 pounds fatter than i am. doesn't move around at all and doesn't drag down much on my shoulders.

The belts.....don't. Mine never stays tight and moved constantly. One reason I stopped using it.

Lifespan 20kg vest

From an Australian perspective, I can do a review of the vest I have been using. It's kinda unwieldy when it's fully loaded with 20kg cause it has 4 rows of weights and the lower row make it impractical to wear long since you have to use it and remove it so often, you can't for example go to the bathroom with it on. Better would be a vest that has only 3 rows like the HCE one which uses metal weights instead of sandbags, so it's more compact. I would recommend that without having used it. The 4th, last row loaded on mine makes it harder to jump too because it affects ROM too. Avoid.

Here is an example that take 30kg and only has 3 rows:

This looks so sexy right now .. ^ haha.

The advantage of this design is also you can modify the weights on the go. With mine it's impractical cause the weights are on the inside whereas the vest above has them outside. Very cool.
