That's correct. Hand size is unimportant unless your hand is so big that I encompasses more than half of the ball. Then yeah, you'd have the ball in your fist.

I can "palm" a regular size ball using 2 fingers if it has the right texture/grip, whereas I have NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER to palm the same size ball, and EVEN SMALLER BALLS (=> same as bigger hands) when the ball doesn't have grip. The end.

hand length is 7 1/4" and just shy of 8" thumb to pinky.

My hand measures almost dead on to yours hyperdunk, but I am 5'10" w/o shoes.

I have a harder time with deadlifting due to grip strength and hand size, but prob could be overcome with more focus.

I have no chance of palming no matter the ball, so given the option bigger hands would be nice, possibly a larger winkie too.

On the bright side small hands make my winkie look bigger so it all equals out. :D
5'10"- 185lbs - 45 yrs - reach - 7'6" (90") - 27" SVJ - 30" RVJ - 245# Full squat
