Paused Squats

Are the paused squats in any kind superior to regular back squats? Strenght gains? more mass recluitment? eliminating the strech reflex would affect negatively in the transition to jumping movements?

If you jump quite a bit you don't care about the stretch reflex during squatting.
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

So if i want it to imrpove strenght for jumping purposes would doing paused squats be more effective?

You probably don't need to worry about it. It would be safer if you have knee issues probably.

i like them.  i like to "free fall" to the bottom and stick the position with a 2-3 second hold.  really halt the eccentric suddenly.  I use 70-85% with this method  1-3 reps per set.
