possibility of over thinking, but is there a difference?
Goal is to dunk.

Vertical needed to dunk: 40"

Current vertical : 38.5"

I personally can't squat narrow. Even a 1/4 squat with a narrow stance = great knee bend and pressure on the knees.
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

I think that narrow(around shoulder width) best fits for 2 legged jumpers, but the narrower the stance the more pressure on your back (range of motion is increased). So the optimal stance is as close to shoulder width as you feel comfortable going heavy. Imo individual based. My knees are approx. shoulder width w/ my toes around 60-70 degree angle.
Stats:
Age-29
BW-162
Ht-5'11 w/shoes
Max Reach-7'9 w/shoes
Standing vert-26'(outdated)
Max dlrvj-36'(1/3/12)

wide stance is only for people who plan to be soliciting sex in bathrooms in the minneapolis-st. paul airport. if your stance is too narrow there no one can see your coded foot taps. narrow stance, which protects the bunghole rather than inviting penetration by anonymous strangers, is much better suited to building general leg strength.

duh.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.
