Some good medals for team gb but there seems to be some curse on team gb taekwondo last second loss.

Why?! Frustrating same happened to Lutalo in rio
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strength comes from the legs, Power comes from the torso and Speed comes from the arm. Al Vermeil
Arm also aids the legs in driving it down with power - seifullaah73

What is happening in the competition.
Alot of the top prospects are under performing. Bromell makes it through as fastest loser. Not looking good.
Women 100m turning out good may even break world record.

NBC's coverage really has been inconsistent. like, i know timing is an issue and i know there are no crowds, but the 100m is the marquee event of the whole summer olympics and the video they posted of it online is the most perfunctory shit i've ever seen. shame.

this, meanwhile, rules so incredible hard:

Loved that moment. Why would you risk gold and go with a jump off when you can guarantee yourself a gold.

Was nice seeing the bond between the 2 and how much it meant to both.

Omfg  :motherofgod:

Crazy world record in the 400m hurdles by Norwegian guy warholm I think. Below 46 seconds. 2nd person Benjamin also broke the previous World record, really was the reason for pushing warholm to further widening the new record margin.

Amazing guy and amazing performance.
Maybe the 400 flat.

jesus mf christ, lasha talakhadze broke the WR in the snatch, C&J, and total for 109+. his opening lifts were heavier than anyone else in the competition's heaviest lifts. 223, 265, 288.

14 year old chinese girl scores multiple perfect 10s, shatters olympic record in diving: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXg30_BgOEQ. as someone says in the comments, to a layman (like me) this looks amazing; to someone who knows even a little bit about diving, it's mission impossible. cool.

Eliud kipchoge is just a beast. When he ran the marathon, his 5k split time the first one was under 15 min, around 14:28 I think. Then continue that pace till end of marathon.
