http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Os7LLy6SPA

400m x12 in about 30min at night.

Suppose to have a W9 lifting session tomorrow morning. But i am too tired to wake up. Sleep at 0030mid night and some hacker fron usa called me at 430am to wake me up and could notnget back to deep sleep. Muscle is sore thru out my body.

May be is the arm swing of plyo or the shrug shoulder in my arm.. I am not sure. I feel sore all over.

171122 Lack of Energy and motiviation
Not sure if it is work pressure or life pressure or what.
I am losing the battle.
They Energy battle. The motivation Battle. The how much sleep is enough battle.

I am Suppose to DO the plyo last Friday. but it was delayed to this Monday. (and I ran 30 min monday night also)
I am suppose to Lift Tuesday morning. But It was delayed till Wednesday... and
Today is Wednesday and i am unable to wake up to lift. I feel my leg is sore and my back and shoulder is tired.

I plan to Lift Wednesday after work.. cutting into my family time. and hopefully i can have access to the one squat rack available.

I remember people said.... Half of the battle is just getting up in the morning and heading to the gym.
I am losing my battle.

Vertically sake, I am doing fine.. Not improving as I want. but at least I am getting consistent which could mean i can get higher later on....
but i feel demoted and weak in my mind.

171122 Night Session
I cant remember the last time I went to gym after work.
I had devote all time to go back home after work for family..
but today.. Since i had skipped morning session 3 morning in a row.. i have no choice.

got it done. The Qtr Squat... is not explosive at this weight. not sure what i should do.

171123 Rest day = recovery cardio night
With out GPS. i ran for 30 min... I felt so good today.. very bouncy and light... i did 30 min with good speed. Now, i know speed is a relative words... 2 male runner blow by me during my run.
but at least i felt good.. i felt bouncy and i feel energetic.

Given that i only sleep 5.5 hrs last night... and Lifted, may be is the sauna effect. I just felt good. too bad i did not have GPS with me for this session.

171124 Cant wake up early AGAIN
I felt strong and good yesterday... thats y i ran... BUT Crap.. this morning i felt breakdown again.
MAY BE.... because the lifting Soreness wont appear not until after 2 night of sleep hrs, and thats y I was so hyped for the run yesterday night (which is just 24 hrs).

This morning, my leg is sore.. not sure if it is from the lifting 2 night ago, or the 30min cardio last night.
May be i should had taken a HOT bath after the run.

I am suppose to TRY to dunk on rim 3 today at lunch also... which is W8 Session 2 training.. (and is FRIDAY ALREADY) :uhhhfacepalm:

171124 Lunch Max Effort Jump with Ball
This is my last Dunk session before i turn 37..Is going to be my bday in a few days. .. I really want to land 1 dunk at rim 3....which is my 3/4 goal for 2017.
Leg is sore from running and lifting... I had a feeling i will do good today... so i did stand still x4 with 1 min rest in between where i throw the ball as practice.
2 steps jump x 4 with 1 min rest again with ball throwing. I am ready.. I am getting high consistently.

So i keep on trying and trying and trying.. and i think there were about 5 to 8 close attempt..
but.. NONE... went in...

it is like my 3rd or 4th week.... waiting for a dunk at this rim...

I am starting to think... Max Effort Jump day.... SHOULD NOT BE Dunk day...

Max Effort... should be aiming for Max Vertical Attempt without any concern of Dunk skill (No adjustment needed with ball)
Dunk day.... is something else... with skill development.

I had a feeling...that when i am trying to dunk... I am never really at my MAX Vert....
Wait a min... WHAT DID I JUST SAID?
May be that is why i never LAND a dunk... wtf.

body weight at 177.x Lbs in the morning.

171128 Feeling tired again... Why always lack of energy

Last week Plyo session is missed again... and Monday is birthday dinner .. so no training again.

Today is just Tuesday. And i felt so tired...

I mean I Jumped and Ran on the 24.... there is 25, 26, 27 without any exercise.. ( I stretched for 30 min on 26 and did a 20 min sauna also)
why do I still feel beat up on the 28th.

Pressure from work or life in general? I am getting this random or regular routine energy lost.... more often than usual....

wtf is going on.... is it the cold weather outside? it is actually very sunnday RIGHT Now 20 min before my lunch.... lunch session i should say..

I am struggling to get myself motivated to do my plyo session ( from last week)

my leg is sore... for.. wtf reason... 4 days rest already.

x2

I actually had a big reply written out a few days ago, but didn't post it & rebooted & lost it.

In a nutshell, scoob you need to be careful thinking about the past and how you approach the future. When you factor in "how long you have been training", it compounds the stress. When you set deadlines and don't meet them, it compounds the stress. Add that to the fact that your sleep is not adequate it seems, and you've been messing around with your diet by literally skipping meals and such to get leaner, and you are going to view things through a much more negative lens.

The bottom line is, you've had major setbacks & loss of motivation in training over the years, just like we all have. But right now you are improving again. You've been very close to landing some crushing dunks on those hoops, but they flew out. One thing that's always been interesting to me is how, when one gets "CLOSER" to their goal, it can become much harder than when they were much further away: ie, starting the race is easier than finishing it. Right now you are approaching the finish line for your first HARD dunk.

So you aren't really losing your battle, if you're making progress, which you are doing. You might be losing it mentally, by forgetting about the progress you've made, or minimizing the magnitude of these small improvements.

Finally, some of this "extended rest" you are taking, is probably a good thing. You don't really listen to your body much, from what i've seen from your training over the years - i mean you listen to coaches and advice but, you don't necessarily know when to back off, when to push, how hard you should push several days before wanting to jump your max, etc. So right now it seems like you are experiencing some serious fatigue, and that's forcing you to back off a bit - which is fine, listen to it. At some point after landing some hard dunks, I think you'll actually make more progress in this area because you won't be putting as much pressure on yourself to land that first one. The small details like getting enough sleep, eating right, knowing how to create fatigue and how to rest/recover/rebound off of it etc, are very important. If you're not getting enough sleep and you know you should be, dial back training (frequency) a bit until you start getting that back under control. If you're skipping meals etc though, don't expect to be strong or powerful in your workouts/jump sessions, also expect to lose motivation because that kind of stuff can play tricks in your mind.

The only problem with having a coach, from my experience, is when the coach wants you to do one thing but your body (and yourself) really want you to do another - especially when we're talking about fatigue. So make sure you are relaying this stuff back to your coach and perhaps talk about deloading a bit & stepping up the quality, reducing the volume etc, in order to recover a bit more and have some better sessions. Sometimes one needs to back off a bit in order to regain some "fun" with training etc - when it's a constant grind, it can become mentally grueling. Mentally grueling can be great for a while, but it's not entirely sustainable, and sometimes the best "phase" after following some mentally grueling training cycle, is to transition into one which is more focused on quality.

Might be good to keep trying to "get back to focusing on the process", not just the outcome. It seems like you've drifted completely to focusing on the "outcome" lately, ie "I just want to dunk" etc, but the process is where it all comes together.

dno just some thoughts.

peace!

171129 W9 Plyometric Day

First of all, thanks for all the respond... it mean much.. to me...
I think is due to work pressure and never really have a stress free environment after work... that caused me to felt the way I am.. Along with the diet that is not working too well to lose weight.

But I sucked it up and did my plyo session today.
I think I took 4 days off but my let is never really fresh.

A good session today... My First depth drop in the tuck jump was having a soft knee.... but after that.. thing got better.

And i discover my Left FOOT KD 9 Air Pocket Tube's Rubber Sole is Ripped.

it is well know for this defect. and I think i Wore it no more than 30 hrs... will see how it long it lost... i got it for dirt cheap at outlet...

Video Log will be available later.

https://youtu.be/mIys7wbt4rI

Depth Jump/ Tuck groudn contact time is too slow.
Knee to squat Jump seems to be better (with less Rocking back into standing)

I found out the Bottom Sole of the Air Tube of my NIKE KD9 shoes is split. (not yet pop the air yet.)
I think the Kneeing with my toe flexed is placing too much stretch on the shoes (with bad design) so this mean i will have to NOT use the KD for Plyo session any more.)
and I hope this shoes can last ( i have 3 pairs of the same shoes.... ) and i think i had lost the recipient some where at home. So no refund here.

a more bouncy ball means you have more control, if you don't want a crazy bouncy ball to bounce as high, you just lob it lower.. not sure why anyone would suggest a less bouncy ball, unless they were talking about dribbling up dunks & trying to palm it.. flatter ball = easier to palm.

i'd stick with the bouncier ball personally.

alot of those from 2:51 and onward were GREAT, extremely aggressive.. keep approaching them like that. those will drop soon, surprised a few didn't go down in that session. :ibjumping:
