How did the body feel jump wise?

Felt good no achilles pain but usually it flares up post-exercise or the next day, but it was actually okay today.

Sunday

BW- 91.6

I played 2.5 hours of pick up with a couple of my friends. I didn't do many jumps and my achilles didn't feel sore at all while I was playing. Starting to feel it a bit now though so it will be interesting to see how it feels tomorrow morning.  I've got a couple of days off work on Monday and Tuesday. I've got a dentist appointment tomorrow and then on Tuesday I'm attending a funeral and wake for one of my old team mates from rugby that killed himself  :(

Shit man that's rough. It's a huge problem these days.

Yeah I was shattered when I heard the news. He died last Tuesday and I heard about it on Wednesday right before the Origin. I couldn't even watch the game because I was just thinking of him and wondering why he would do that to himself. It is what is though.

In other bad news we've also just had 20 cases of COVID-19 in Adelaide (up from 4 yesterday) after having no community transmissions for months. If the numbers get worse I can see the government implementing lock downs similar to Victoria e.g. closing gyms and only being able to travel to the shops. Employers have been encouraging people to come back to work and only allowing work from home in exceptional circumstances so it will be interesting to see how that changes.

Restriction changes
Effective from 11.59pm on Monday:

Gyms, recreation centres, trampoline and play cafes will close, with restrictions expected to be in place for two weeks
Community sports fixtures and training will be temporarily cancelled, but outdoor fitness activities can continue
Funerals capped at 50 people with 1 person per 4 square metres
Churches capped at 100, with 1 person per 4 square metres
No changes to weddings
Private gatherings at licenced venues capped at 50, with no standing consumption and 1 person per 4 square metres
100 per venue at hospitality venues - such as pubs, clubs and restaurants - with 1 person per 4 square metres
Private residences capped at 10 people per residence
Masks mandatory at beauty services for the service provider
Entertainment venues, such as theatres or cinemas, capped at 1 person per 4 square metres
Workers at aged care facilities limited to one facility and masks mandatory
Schools will remain open
South Australians are also advised to:

Work from home where possible
Stay at home if vulnerable
Do not undertake unnecessary travel
Wear a mask where it is not possible to physically distance

Looks like I won't be able to go the gym for at least the next 2 weeks  :(

It's also looking doubtful whether I'll be able to attend the funeral and wake tomorrow with these new restrictions. 2020 is a dumpster fire!

Attendance for the funeral and wake are now by invitation only so I'm not going. The club is planning to host a memorial service at the club to celebrate Serge's life as soon as they are able to. I hope we don't end up like Victoria and have this shit drag on for months and have lockdowns imposed on us etc.

Fuck mate. It's an absolute shitshow.

Hope you guys get it under control quickly. Looks like they're taking it seriously though.

It's not good but hopefully we get it under control asap. Shopping centres have started introducing limits on certain products e.g. toilet paper because of panic buying.

I watched the livestream of my mates funeral today. I was tearing up listening to some of the speeches and wish I could have been at the rugby club to socialise and get some closure. Not to be due to COVID restrictions.

Sorry to hear about your friend, please try to keep your spirits up.

This shows how this thing is so infectious and unpredictable. South Australia didn't have community transmission prior to this outbreak. if there were covid cases they were contained to just those people coming back from o/seas having to do the mandatory hotel quarantine. And this new outbreak suddenly started because cleaners at the hotel contracted it from those quarantining .. not directly in contact with the infected but just from cleaning the hotel the possibly infected were staying. And that's all it took to spark an outbreak.

As a country we have handled this virus quite well. Victorians definitely dealt with it well but to some extent all states ,but I feel now Victorians and to a less extent NSW are the only ones well prepared to handle coronavirus having that baptism by fire. NSW has the most trumplike response out of the states thanks to their corrupt goverment but even they're doing quite well compared to the worst case of other countries hit badly. The other states didn't actually deal with covid and are not well prepared for an outbreak. WA hasnt had community transmission but if we get an outbreak we'll get wrecked b/c no one has worried about covid in 6 months, we just can't travel or have ppl travel here.

My sister and her kid were supposed home to fly when we WA opened the border on the 14th, 6 hours later we heard about the new outbreak in SA, the border was reclosed the next day! I booked the flights on 13th. We haven't seen each other in 15 months thanks to Covid, not sure when we will get to see the chance to be together again. It sucks but that's how WA has managed to avoid community transmission, we live in a covid free bubble. Hoping SA comes through of this better prepared .. that's going to be the silver lining if there is one (like Vic).

Thanks for the messages of support!

I went into work today and we all got ordered to work from home starting from midnight due to lockdown.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11-18/sa-ordered-into-major-lockdowns-amid-coronavirus-outbreak/12894666

The government says it's for 6 days but I'm cynical. I think they'll extend it out to 14 days and this is even harsher than Melbourne's lockdown, which was described as one of the worst in the world.

These closures and restrictions are South Australia-wide.

CLOSURES

Takeaway food services;
Shops (excluding essential food services);
Universities and tertiary education facilities;
Pubs/restaurants/café/food courts;
Aged care  and disability facilities will go into lockdown;
Construction industry;
Holiday homes and other holiday accommodation and no further bookings;
RESTRICTIONS

South Australians are strongly encouraged to wear masks when leaving home during the six-day lockdown - but it is not part of the official directive.
Fly in- fly out workers - on six-day standstill
Interstate/regional travel - you must remain in place after midnight Wednesday
BANNED/CANCELLED

Elective surgery except for urgent operations
Weddings
Funerals
Real estate open inspections
Real estate auctions
Outdoor sport/fitness/exercise not permitted
WHAT WILL STAY OPEN / OPERATIONAL

Critical infrastructure including power, telecommunications, water;
Supermarkets for essential food; (one person per household per day).
Bottle shops;
Medical supplies and medical services;
Public transport;
Airport and essential freight;
Petrol stations;
Post offices and banking institutions;
Child care and schools for essential services workers only;
Veterinary;
Essential agriculture services ;
Factories remain open for essential machinery upkeep and production of essential products only; and
Mining and smelting for continuity and to prevent damage.
REASONS YOU MAY LEAVE HOME

To go to work as an emergency services worker or to worker providing essential services.
For agricultural work.
To receive medical care including seeking COVID-19 testing.
To obtain medical supplies.
To attend supermarkets to obtain essential supplies (one person per household once a day).
Organised end of life visits.
In an emergency situation.

In Melbourne you were allowed to go out for an hour each day for exercise. In South Australia we're not even allowed to go outside to exercise at all. I caught up with a few close friends after work and had a few beers. I'm not financially impacted by this atm but if I were a small business owner or a casual worker I would probably be out on the streets protesting these measures. I think it's crazy and I actually respect what NSW are doing. They know that COVID is something we'll have to live with and they are using suppression. We were supposed to be following NSW and accepting a few cases here and there and getting people to self-isolate and follow the procedures with contract tracing etc. Instead the government has thrown suppression out the window and emulated Dan Andrews and his extreme measures. The government would never be able to pull this shit in the USA because the people wouldn't allow it.
