Rugby League-
90 minutes of training. We've got an internal trial game on tomorrow night, which will be used to pick the 1st Grade and Reserve Grade teams. The coach said the teams are subject to change throughout the season though based on form so they are far from set in cement. I still want to be selected for the 1st Grade team but realistically I missed the first 10 weeks of pre-season training and I've never played a game of rugby league before so I won't be too disappointed if I start in reserves, but I definitely want to make my way up to the 1st Grade team this season and solidify my position either at Fullback or on one of the Wings.

Gym-

Bodyweight- 82.5

Box Squat-

Rugby League Trial Game-
I played in the trial game last night and we had tonnes of players so we ended up having 2 teams with 10 subs on both benches. On Wednesday night the coach said the trial game was going to be the A team (1st Grade) v the B team (Reserves) but on the night he ended up making it Evens. As far as the game went it was an event contest I don't think anybody really kept scores but I was happy with my own performance. I made some good hit ups and about a dozen tackles and scored a 60m try and got named in the 1st Grade team for our first game on the 9th of April  ;D

Strong rows man  :strong: how do you do them? Pendlay row style with a reset from the ground or just a regular bent over row?

Just a regular bent over row. My form on the 100kg+ sets isn't the best.

Not much to report training wise just went to Rugby League training on Wednesday and Friday nights. Our first game is on the 9th of April. I haven't been to the gym since Tuesday but I wouldn't mind going tonight. I told my old rugby club that I wasn't playing this year and got mixed responses mainly negative. The coach made a comment on my facebook page about it being odd and when a couple people wrote back in support he commented:
"It is just that we put a lot of effort into working with Michael working on his handling and other skills to improve his game. Then he does the harry without saying anything. Agree he can do whatever he wants but there is also a question about how you conduct yourself and personally that is not how I would conduct myself. It is the behaviour that I'm most disspointed in".
In hindsight I shouldn't have bothered coming out to rugby training because I just look like a fuckhead with the more sessions I went to and then not playing. He's entitled to his opinion so that's fine and I can understand the frustration from his point of view. Anyway I'm done with rugby and looking forward to enjoying my season with league.

Rugby League State Training-
So I thought I was going to play in a trial game last night for the state team but it turned out to be state training instead. The affiliated State Championships where we play against Victoria, Western Australia, Northern Territory, New South Wales & Queensland are being held in late June. Atm there is 30 in the training squad but they will cull it down over the next few weeks and also use game performance over the next month or so to pick the team.

As far as the training went it was intense. It was definitely a step up from club league. Our coach is a guy called Nathan Vagg who used to be play in the NRL for the Cronulla Sharks. Managed to get another corky but I played through it and it's not going to stop me from training and playing my first game this weekend. Our games are filmed so I should also be able to post some videos and footage throughout the season.

Gym-
Too sore today. I'm going to wake up early tomorrow and go to the gym before work and then league training after.

Sorry bros for being slack on the updates I had problems with my internet connection so I've been offline for a week. Not much to update gym wise. 1st round of rugby league ended up getting cancelled due to a few clubs not paying their affiliation fees  >:(

Basically my schedule has looked like this:

Monday- State Training
Wednesday- Club Training
Friday- Club Training

No games over Easter but I have been selected to represent the Australian team for the ANZAC day test on the 22nd of April playing against New Zealand.

I've been pretty fucked getting my body to adjust to the extra workload of training so I only hit the gym once.

Box Squat-
60x5
100x5
120x4
110x5
102.5x6

Weighted chin ups-
12kgx10
8kgx10x2
