Thanks bro. I miss playing rugby but I'm enjoying the gym gains. I've been lifting weights for years but rugby cut my gym gains due to the demands and constraints on lifting due to playing 8 months of the year being chronically sore or injured. Try squatting with something as mild as a hip pointer. It's basically impossible. Not to mention torn muscles, back spasms, broken collarbones, concussions etc. Say you basically can't lift for a month. When you are healthy you don't get time to add weight to the bar and get back to where you were, you go play which makes it impossible to make real gains. That said once my achilles is better I'll be straight back to rugby LOL!

Rest day.

It was ironic that I mentioned my will to play rugby again in my journal. Rugby pre-season has commenced and there is a league and union pre-season comp this weekend.

So far I have had offers to join 1 union club and 3 league clubs in the last 2 days over facebook. I'm grateful that they've kept me in mind but I"M INJURED!!!

Track-
First time back on the track since I did my achilles injury  :personal-record:

3x100m @ 85% speed with 300m walk back rests.
My gym work feels like it's really transitioned nicely over to the track. My starts felt strong and I felt powerful.

Jump Rope-

Walked 3.5km @ 6km/h
Jogged 500m @ 14, 14.1 and 14.2km/h respectively

Chin Ups-

Hopefully my body pulls up nicely tomorrow. At this stage I have no achilles pain but I can feel some DOMS in my calves.

Right calve muscle. Felt like a minor strain.
Left achilles.

I had one rest day yesterday and then hit the gym today.
