glad your back is feeling better. just be super, duper, insanely conservative with it, i guess.

^^^^ Thanks man. That is the plan. Mostly BW work only for the next 6 months.

3/19/14 Wednesday BW=161.0

bench 5x165, 8x185, 7x185, 7x185
BW row 4x10
wide grip pull up 4x6
BW pistol squat 4x5

played some 1 on 1 with my 9 Year old, Pulled a double cross over to jump shot that was epic.

It was just like MJ on AI from way back. of course with AI being painfully slow and MJ being awkward and a kid.

3/27/14 Friday BW=158.4

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/28/14 Saturday BW=158.0

decline bench 8x185, 3x8x205
pistol squat BW 4x8
pull up BW 4x12

Got back to playing b-ball friday of last week, Been feeling good, but I have been taking it pretty easy.

Also I have been practicing one legged take off's. I'm improving slowly.

Set up some gymnastics rings in the garage, and will slowly progress though the beginner movements. Its fun if nothing else.

4/2/14 Wednesday BW=159.8

pistol squat BW 4x8
ring pull up 5x5
ring push up 5x10
ring row 5x5
GHR 1x5

Played b-ball on monday. back is feeling better, I've still been working on one leg take offs on low hoop.

Super impressed with how much harder BW movements are on rings. I figured that I would be able to bust out a muscle up easily.

Turns out I'm not even close.  Technique, flexibility and strength work will be needed to get there.

4/8/14 Tuesday BW=?
ring pull ups 7,7,7,7
ring dips 4x10
ring rows 4x7

4/9/14 Wednesday BW=?
ring push ups 5x20

4/12/14 Saturday BW=159.6
pistol squats 5x8
ring pull 5x8
ring dips 8

4/13/14 Sunday BW=158.4
ring dips 4x10, 15
ring rows 5x10
ring push 5x20

4/14/14 Monday BW-159.4
b-ball 1.5 hours

Way behind on the log. I am actually healing up nicely. Still doing nothing but BW ring work, which is slow progress.

stretching regularly. been trying to eat better, have been maintaining weight but leaning out. good stuff.

even this morning after working all weekend and getting minimal sleep. I can touch the rim from a run up. ~30"

With how long I've been off, and how beat up I am I am optimistic that I can get over the rim again before I die!

Still have been slacking. But I did finally get my supple leopard book, and tore into it with the foam roller and the lacrosse balls.

It hurts so good.

It seems like most of my dystfunction is pretty standard stuff. The butt wink was my downfall for sure.

My plan is to keep getting down with the quad rolling, lower back/upper and hamstring stuff and build out from there.

As it is now I have spent 3 hours a day since last week with my foam and balls. My wife seems perplexed as she passes, but says nothing.

4/22/14 Tuesday BW=160.6
ring dip 10,10,9,9,9
ring chin 5x8
ring push 5x20
ring row 5x8

4/23/14 Wednesday BW=161.0
back squat paused 5x5x135
barbell lunge 135# 4x6

Feeling sooo much better. Dusted off the squat rack and gave it a try. Glorious!

Improvements are coming quicker now. Its like I am dealing with some root causes, instead of hearing the doctor tell me to take more ibuprofen/ You will have low back problems the rest of your life. Thanks.

Definitely going to take more time for maintenance from now forward.

4/28/14 Monday BW=162.2

b-ball 1.5 hours

4/29/14 Tuesday BW=162.4

back squat paused 5x135, 5x145, 3x5x155
barbell lunge 135# 7,8,8
calf raise 180# 2x15

Did some indoor rock climbing for the first time this weekend and had a blast. I was able to free climb some of the stuff that more seasoned college aged climbers couldn't make the transition over. Good times.

Feeling pretty good this week, I was off last for vacation so I didn't get much done but did keep up on the mobility stuff.

Tried some deadlift's tonight, but it seems like my hamstring mobility is not there yet to get proper form w/o rounding my back.

I did get in a good run/ mini-bike push session in tonight after blowing a head gasket during a ride.  :raging:

5/5/14 Monday BW=162.0
b-ball 1.5 hours

5/6/14 Tuesday BW=161.8
paused squat 5x135, 5x155, 5x175, 5x185, 5x185, 4x185
barbell lunge 5x135, 8x155, 8x165
calf raise 15x200, 15x220, 15x220

After about 2 months of dicking around on a set of homemade gymnastic rings, I got my first muscle up tonight.
 :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:
way to many ques to remember to do it with proper form AND still pull it off but I will keep working on it.

paused squats are coming along. My goal is to get 5x225. Also got a green band for distractions, it has been quite helpful.

It's much harder on the rings, isn't it?
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps
