12/30/12 Sunday BW=162.8

jump squat 5x45, 5x95
squat 5x185, 3x225, 1x255, 1x270, 1x275, 1x280,5x275, 7x255, 7x255.
GHR BW 3x8
calf raise 3x12x200
med ball decline sit up 3x50

Body was wasted today. But it was my last chance workout for 2012.

In general I feel like a school girl, but tonight I felt like jean claude van damme.

In the last 4 months or so I have brought back the glute ham raises. In the past I have always given a little push off at the bottom, well tonight I went for no hands expecting to mash my nose. Turns out I can rep out no hand GHR like a beast. I was 6 reps into the third set of 8 before I needed a hand.  :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record:

That is how I will end 2012. progress. peak. well done. :)

I can get 250#'s max.

225 I typically can do 5 reps fresh. not enough to get noticed at the combine.

  :lololol::highfive:

It makes me wonder what kind of numbers NFL punters put up for stats. Do they even get run in the combine?
I bet they are still pretty elite athletes on average. They put in much work due to the overall lack of respect.

I remember when the sonic's drafted Kevin Durant, he couldn't bench 185 once. granted when you are 6'10" and built like him your chest is a long way down. Still hasn't seemed to slow him down in the pros.

tonight's workout....more progress....

1/8/13 Tuesday BW=164.2

jump squat 5x45, 5x95
squat 5x185, 3x225, 1x260, 1x275, 1x285, 7x280, 6x270, 8x260
barbell lunge 5x135, 5x175, 5x185, 5x185
calf raise 200# 3x15

another squat PR 7x280. My legs feel like they can do more at this point but 280 is digging in my back hard by rep 7.

Maybe its my skirt getting caught in my panties?

I know a couple of punters in NFL coz they used to play Aussie Rules football.
This is Sav Rocca when he played aussie rules weighing around 95kg and if you look on aussie rules forums apparently he could bench 140kg (308lbs) back then before NFL.

He now weighs 120kg and I'd say most of the weight he put on in NFL would be muscle and he'd have heaps more time to work out in the weight room so he probably benches closer to 400lbs now.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sav_Rocca

The other NFL convert that was playing NFL up to last year from Aussie Rules is Ben Graham who could kick a footy like 70m. He's listed on wiki as weighing 107kg so you'd imagine he'd be benching at least 300lbs as well.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Graham_(football_player)

So yeah I think you're right when you say that they'd still be pretty strong/athletic people even though their only punters.

Edit- Nice work on the squat PR!

Huge leg. Forget his bench press. What's his squat?
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

re-phrase not  like my lower back is rounding due to excessive weight. more like it's uncomfortable to have the bar sinking in to my upper back for prolonged periods of time. but either way, good point.

I have never used the bar pad, but maybe a manta ray would be a good investment?

So yeah I think you're right when you say that they'd still be pretty strong/athletic people even though their only punters.

Thanks mate.

Those aussie rules footballer don't look to me like your average NFL punters.

After doing some internet research they don't seem to show combine data for 40 yards/ bench type data on kickers/punters.
But they do all seem to be 6'3"ish and around 225 pounds. So safe to say they should be able to easily kick my ass in most any measure of athletic performance.
