The gym was closed for a week, or I probably would have played.

I feel like I play an adequate amount of basketball, but I need to cut back on work and kids.

It does seem like it limits the amount of progress I can make on lifts though. Everything is kinda a cumulative drain for me,

giving me excuses and low motivation to go get it.

2/24/16 Wednesday BW=167.0

b-ball 1.5 hours

2/27/16 Saturday BW=168.0?

paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 1x245, 2x10x225, 8x225*
calf raise 12x160, 4x12x170

I feel pretty boss after today's workout. This month has been a step forward for sure.

Not sure if I have ever got 10 reps @ 225. The third set I didn't have it in me, I had to rerack the bar a few times to get  to 8.

spent quality time on my lower back and hips this last week. Its been a quick payback on that investment.

2/29/16 Monday BW=167.4

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/1/16 Tuesday BW=166.6

jump squat 5x45, 5x95
paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 1x245, 0x260, 5x225, 1x225

3/2/16 Wednesday BW=165.8

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/5/16 Saturday BW=166.4

paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 6x225, 6x235, 3x245, 3x245

3/7/16 Monday BW=165.6

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/9/16 Wednesday BW=165.4

b-ball 1.5 hours
paused squat 3x185, 2x225, 5x225, 2x225
calf raise 5x12x160

The last couple of weeks I have cut out friday basketball, and am feeling better for it.

Been sleeping real well lately and my back is the best it has been in years. Todays squats were garbage so I called it a day, but last saturday I could have got 6x245 but I went soft mentally and reracked it for a 10 count. That's progress.

3/12/16 Saturday BW=166.4

paused squat 2x185, 1x225, 1x235, 5x5x225, 2x10x185
calf raise 3x12x170

mentally some days I can't focus my mind enough to make progress. Couldn't get 20 reps at 185 with out reracking it.

^^^^^ I agree. 25 reps was probably plenty. I am usually happy with 16 good reps. Lately it seems like I get so little done, so i want to go for it when I can even when its too much.

3/14/16 Monday BW=165.4

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/16/16 Wednesday BW=166.6

b-ball 1.5 hours
paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 3x10x185

3/19/16 Saturday BW=166.8

paused squat 3x185, 2x205, 1x225, 6x205, 6x215, 2x6x225

This week again I am feeling pretty good, but couldn't get locked in enough to add weight.

3/21/16 Monday BW=?

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/23/16 Wednesday BW=?

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/26/16 Saturday BW=164.8

paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 1x245, 1x255, 3x5x235, 2x5x225
calf raise 5x12x160

3/28/16 Monday BW=?

b-ball 1.5 hours

3/29/16 Tuesday BW=165.4

paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 1x245, 0x255, 6x225, 5x235, 4x235, 5x225
calf raise 3x12x170

basketball and squats the last few weeks. Still on the push up, pull up and dip routine during the week. Slowly but surely gaining reps. Feeling leaner and more explosive lately, and as a result squats feel extra solid. Nothing earth shaking but moving in the right direction.

3/30/16 Wednesday BW=?

b-ball 1.5 hours

4/1/16 Friday BW=166.2

paused squat 3x185, 1x225, 1x245, 1x255, 2x3x235, 1x235
barbell lunge 4x8x185
calf raise 3x10x170

My body is wasted after this last week. fell asleep on the couch after work today, which is abnormal.
Friday was painful. Times should be better next week.

Yes, if you are referring to plates.

word. then why not start doing your moderate rep sets at 230? you've been doing 2x5-6x225 for so long, it seems. bump it up. actually, your sets are all over the place. maybe pick a set x rep scheme and stick with it for a while?

^^^^ that's the truth. not sure why I never use the 2.5's. Seems like when I get above 235ish for any amount of reps, I slide off with-in weeks and literally can't manage with any amount if weight.
Little over a month ago 10 reps at 225 was doable. Lately 5 reps is an absolute struggle. Takes me a bit just to get my body warm and firing and ready to lift, then the zone where I can improve is small. My focus is never quite there, too much split focus with my family and never enough time in the day. Truthfully I am working to maintain, real progress seems impossible currently. My plans for a workout and what I can actually get done once I am under the bar are always quite different.
More often then not I feel ready to scrap the workout before I ever get warmed up and end up slogging through with some slop.

Today was no different....

4/6/16 Wednesday BW=166.0

push up 4x35
pull up 4x10
dip 4x20
paused squat 2x185, 1x205, 1x225, 3x225, 4x5x225
barbell lunge 3x8x185
calf raise 1x10x180

No basketball this week and still I feel warn out and gassed.

4/9/16 Saturday BW=167.2

3 step jump 3x5
5th pin squat 3x185, 3x225, 4x3x245
deadlift 8x185, 3x8x225
calf raise 4x10x180

got back at it today. switched things up a bit. Near as I can tell I haven't done a deadlift since 2012.

Kinda had it in my head that with basketball I shouldn't be doing any dedicated jumps. Sounds stupid saying it out loud LoL.

My vertical is horrible. Maybe 27"s. It is summer-ish out here now so I have no excuses for sucking the way I do.
