behind on the log. Still plugging away, made some progress and then regressed a bit.

my squat has been a challenge this month. In the first week it seemed I was ready for 5x5x240, but I had to drop back to get the reps.

5x5x230 was super solid today. Saturday I need to get 5x5x235 again.

This whole month has felt like a trek to the bottom of the valley. Some days it feels like I took weights up yesterday. Today was one of those days. Just pushed through it. I am pretty sure I can bench more then I can squat. Pathetic.

Ran out of time to finish lifting on saturday. Which was bad because  lifts were feeling great.
Today was solid but I was still not quite feeling it. Way better then wednesday.

no improvement on my jumps. My back feels not right some days. Today it was bad enough that I had to scrap any leg work.
More mobility and rest I guess. I am so paranoid of a reinjury.

Well I guess I can get one positive thought out of this - for me the holidays have always been just another day.
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

went for 4x235, not even close tonight. I played my 1.5 hours of basketball yesterday after a brief absence, and it gassed me. I take it pretty darn easy and it still seems like it is too much some times?

I ended up playing basketball on Wednesday and Friday of last week.

Got 4x235 on saturday so that is progress.

super-slow progress > no progress super-slow but constant progress while being at lifetime PR levels and over 35 yo = incredible progress

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

Friday felt like progress, my form was locked in and I felt a bit more explosive than normal. I couldn't get the last rep on the bench press today, and had to wriggle out from under a load bar alone in my garage. suck.
