Well... big changes lately for me life in general wise. Not going to let it keep me down. Resolving to start logging more to keep myself accountable. Really need to play more ball to stay bouncy as well.

Squatted tonight at 181lbs BW.

Back Squat
bar x12, 135 x10, 225 x6, 315 x3, 365 x1, 405 x1,425 x1
385 x3, 385 x3, 365 x3, 365 x3, 365 x3. Not bad.

Front squat:
265 x5, 295 x3, 315 x1! FINALLY! Got it easier than expected to, shold have repped it twice. Then finished with 275 x3, x3.

Circuit assistance work. Went for more heavier/less reps on the unilateral work tonight. we'll see how that feels tomorrow.

good things happen to lean 5'10s that squat 425s.  :headbang:

edit - scoob, ChrisM only has a 90" standing reach and look how easily above the rim he is getting.

yeah once i'm done with gymnastics i should shoot for a 405 squat at 180. then when i move to a country that has basketball courts, go back to dunking.

floor kip to dunk, why has no one youtubed that yet.

Agreed KF!!!!

LBSS, do it. Then just go jump.

As for me.... MAYYY have over done it a little Saturday. Back of my right knee is bruised along the tendon. Was told to take it easy this week and re evaluate soooo.... no leg work this week. Ugh. I hate setbacks. Time to reevaluate my workout plan. My lower volume and just go heavy to keep max strength and focus on a RFD block next.

Thought about it? Absolutely! If I cut upper body back to jusy BW exercises (chinups, pull ups, dips, pushups, etc) I could cut from low 180s to mid 170s BW and I get quicker for sure but.... Mentally it fucks with me. I have to progress, its a sickness. In everything I do I constantly want to become better. Cutting out upper body (hell I only do chest 1x a month lol) would make me weaker and Im not sure Id feel ok about that. Plus you know... I love how I look at 188-190lbs and ~8%BF but my knee and jump shot hates me lol! So im semi sacrificing currently. Now, if Ingot picked up to play semi pro or something its DEFINITELY an option since Id WANT that speed/quickness.

As is tho its kind of fun. I dont need to bench 275 for 3 or row 315 for reps bt its fun too. And it helps fighting through picks, I literally just move people without looking like I foul the hell out of them. :)

You can row 315? I :motherofgod: I'm curious to see that. Never saw anyone your weight do that with decent form. Haha

Sigh. I hate setbacks. Ate wayyyyyy too much this week. 187lbs yesterday lol! Will tighten up and hoop some next week. Going to start back tomorrow if all feels right. Did some back/shoulders last night. Did barbell rows for the first time in ~6 months just to see where i was after the above comments. 225 for 5 easy. 275 for 2 and my grip let out. No wraps. I could prolly get 3 but Im obviously down some. 315 for 2 was my best back then.   Might do a completely BW upper body this week to help cutting.

And fwiw.... i couldnt (probably) play an NBA season and run 35 mpg and lift like I do. No way. Id have to way cut back volume in season and lose some strength over the season. Maybe not much with access to cryo chambers and TENS units and all the other shit but still.

Played 2 hours of full court at a local gym... had some competition early (couple ex college players) but they left an hour in. Second hour was just me playing around. Dunked at the end for about 15 mins. Decided to cut it short since Im squatting here in, oh 30 mins, lol!

Well... I lost a TON of weight FAST lol! Hooped in sweats earlier and ate super clean but damn! 180.8lbs. I'll take it.

Warmed up.

Squat
bar x12, 135 x8, 225 x6, 315 x2, 365 x1, 405 x1. Didnt attempt 425. Wpuld.have been a major struggle.

385 for 4x2.
315 for 5.

FS

225 x5, 275 x2, 275 x2, 295 x1, 315 x1, 315 x1.

3 circuits of step ups (225lbs for triples each leg), calf raises, and leg extensions with a box jump and core work. Then ended with some ab burnout shit.

Overall a good day. Played well. Lifted well for dropping weight that fast. Cut volume a lot so we'll see if maybe i can push up PRs by a few pounds while I hit RFD and jumps hard the next few weeks.

Hit back/core Friday. Slept a ton Sat 😁 Then did some speed work Sunday and felt really great.

Played an hour and half of hoops tonight from 7-830 (had to get back home for the game!) nothing really crazy. Got loose, broke a sweat, dunked 3x after the game and shut it down lol!

Squatssss! (at 130am lmfao) Sort of tired but the gym was empty so I went a little apeshit and got myself hyped up.

warmups+jumps

BW: 182.5lbs
Backsquat:
bar x12, 135 x8, 225 x5, 315 x3, 365, 405. Thought about going for 425 again but said nah.... and did this...

405 x2!!!!!
405x2, 385x2, 315x5  :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: Super amped up... so i did it again lol!

Front squat:
225 x3, 275 x2, 315, 315, 275 x2, 275x2.

Circuits of step ups, calf raises, leg extensions and box jumps to finish. Quite happy with tonight! Now to sleep!

wait how is 315x5 a pr for you if you're squatting 425? i've done 315 x 5,5,5 and never maxed more than 360 or 365.

EDIT: temporarily illiterate

he meant the double(s) with 425 is a PR .. not the 315 set. which he has done a page ago in the log  :P

My bad. Was excited/tired af. Definitely could have logged that more clearly lol! For future reference..
the 405x2 was the PR. Which I repeated 3 mins later lol!

Weighed 182.5lbs tonight then proceeded to get hammered on Chopin. I mean... if youre going to drink do it right lol!

Ive pretty much decided to cut back on upper body. Anyone have any links to well thought out/planned BW upper body routines? If like to cut to about 177lbs without killing my squat/deadlift or looking anorexic:(
