I eat a ton of fruit. Veggies, not so much lol!

A few of my bball friends have said ive "lost a step" since Ive bulked up (vs back before I lifted ~165lbs days eek). At first I contributed it too me just playing 'smarter' instead of just trying to go around and over everyone. But lately ive been wondering...maybe i have? It may not be the weight gain as much as i never sprint or practice acceleration anymore.

So this is my conundrum: drop some bulk up top and drop to 170-172lbs and get quicker at the risk of getting weaker and pushed around...

or

Add in some serious accel drills and ramp speed days to 2x a week va 1.

Kinda torn lol I like being 178-180 and im afraid dropping weight will suffery big lifts due to a weaker back? Other view is if im lighter my power to weight should be better and maybe i jump higher?

ugh.

you jump plenty high at whatever weight you're at right now. can't comment on your quickness, obviously.

do eat more vegetables, though.

I almosted downvoted that comment LBSS! Its NEVER enough! :)

I still want to touch 50" even if its just a couple times so I need to keep pushing. Definitely more veggies tho! Just finished a killer back workout fueled by sheer anger. Meh. work in 6 hours them a game after that. Should be fun!

dno.. i think you could probably get close to 50" without doing anything drastic. As you stay consistent (jumping/lifting) and you get more inches, re-evaluate later (IMHO). I mean you've taken time off several times lately and you're still flying.. if you stay consistent for quite some time, you may exceed ~165 lb. levels.

i guess what i'm saying is, just keep jumping/lifting for now & re-evaluate several months down the road.. by then you'll be able to answer your own question alot easier, I imagine.

pc!!

Played another game tonight with no bigs and got slaughtered on the boards again. Ugh. Lost by 12 iirc. I played decently enough and never came off the court but we gave up too much inside. Late in the 4th I got free on the baseline off a crossover and took one dribble and took off just outside the lane...apparently I cocked the damn thing back and cupped it (really wish i could palm a ball lol) and my buddy from the vid earlier (wondmill video) came helpside from the ft line got 2 fingers on the bottom of the ball so i didnt flush it clean but still blake griffin styled it lol! Sort of rattled it i n and barely grabbed the rim. He later thankede.for not getting up loke i usually do, saod if that was the 1st half and i wasnt tired from trying to guard bigs he would have just wrapped me up lol! Hate losing but it was fun.

Forgot what day it was and hit the gym...supposed to be chest and speed work but for some reason i thought it was Thursday. Didnt realize it til after I finished deadlifts lol!

BW: 180lbs. Ate too much between game (ended at 845) and gym (1030 start).

Warmups

Deads:
135 x8, 225 x4, 315 x1, 405 x1, 465 x1. Yup! I want 475...i can taste it lol

5x3 at 425lbs. Wow. Had reps in the tank wtf. Supersetted with 40" box jumps.

Circuits x2:
BSS (155lbs x8), seated calf raise x20, box jumps, core.

Ham curls, glute kick back machine, box jumps, core.

Overall not a bad day considering I shouldnt be fully recovered. Off til Monday. Try to jump Friday :)

Recap...speed work Thursday. Chest/tri Friday. Back/bicep Saturday. More speed work Sunday. Trying to push myself on box jumps on speed days. I need to go dunk more as my plant speed is lacking a little. :/

Game tonight then squats.

For those confused...parts of my County burned to the ground last nigh amidst the East TN wildfires and 70mph winds. Got a little insane around 2am before some much needed rain came in and helped out.

My immediate family is ok. Adarq saw a pic i took and posted to insta around 8pm from my back deck. Got some sprinkles then the wind picked up and the fires jumped to within 5 miles of our house but it wasnt too stressful. Had a few people in my extended family evacuated from their places and I personally know of a handful of people that have lost everything :( I'll post some pics later from the closest fire. Pretty crazy I drove right through the smoldering ashes on my way to work this am.

glad you're okay. i actually met a dude from pigeon forge at a party last weekend. super random, he's an electrician working at the embassy because they fly americans over for sensitive work -- intelligence/security issue. wish i'd gotten his number so i could text him asking if his fam is safe.

This was off my back deck around 8pm before the rain came.

This is a pic of the strip in PF I work right in the bottom right corner area.

And this is the road I drive to get to work, that hillside was all smoldering ash this morning but the hotel and Dollywood are virtually unscathed except some wind damage.

From what I know the county as a whole is in a lot better shape than we could be in given thesize of the fires and such. As is we still have 3 confirmed deaths and a lot missing. Few thousand had to be evacuated from GBurg and hundreds of homes are burnt to the ground not including the rental cabins and such.

And then tonight... (its 3:43  right now) we start getting some much needed rain (didnt get a ton last night) and with it we have tornado warnings, 90+ mph registered winds and inch sized hail. Had to cut my gym time extremely short. Basically warmed up and left to go put the cars in the basement and try to wind/hail proof the house some.

Crazy few days its been. Hoping its on the upswing. The rain should help the fire situation.

Thanks guys. Its still kind of crazy, how many people have lost everything and how its affected the community. Hopefully we can get everything back together and on track soon.

As for the gym...lets see. Finally got a workout in Wed night (back/biceps) and slept some. Today played a 3v3 rec league (no subs lol) game. We played horrible in the first half, down 11 at half time. Re game planned...came back...won by 6 in OT. Not bad. Ate then headed to the gym for deadlifts :)

Warmed up (again lol) plus some jumps

Deads:

135 x8, 225 x4, 315 x1, 405 x1, 475 x1!  :personal-record: Hell yes!

5x3 w/ 425lbs supersetted with box jumps.

Circuits x2: BSS (165lbs x8), seated calf raises, box jumps, core.
Ham curls, glute machine, box jumps and core.

Finished with 2x8 on some box squats, real low weight  (185lbs) trying to really explode up.

Not a bad day!

Oh. BW at 180.5 lbs at the gym  :( too much junk food lately.
