From Wednesday's warmups. Question: does this look more hip dominant than my normal jumps which are heavily quad dominated?

Half assed deadlifts tonight. Not my normal gym=no drive.

135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 405 x1, 425 x1, 405 x3, 315 x5, 315 x5, 315 x5.

Some box jumps. Couple sets of ham curls and calf raises. No core. Just no motivation today.

I dont think your normal jumps are heavily quad dominant.  That said, a box jump will never look that hip dominant because you have to begin closing hips as soon as you leave the ground.  I would say that for a bix jump its a decently balanced jump - looks to me like some ankle rocker flexibility would get you some aid.

Was informed this morning in a text message...yea a fucking text, that my wife wants a divorce. Apparently shes been lying for a while about some pretty big stuff and got tired of faking working on our relationship. So....fuck her. Maybe she'll run back to her abusive ex. idk. idc. im not worrying about anyone who doesnt care about me.

from what you've mentioned in your journal, I imagine you'll handle this news better than before, because it seems like you really cared & tried to make things work.

peace

Thanks guys. Really, its appreciated greatly. Right now, Im just pouring myself into training, work, my daughter and the cars. It only hurts bad at night when I dont have her to hold. Learned today she did have him over Sunday night. Less than 12 hours after her text. SMH. Just gotta push forward.

Hoopedfor 2 hours tonight then squatted. Woooooo. Might not do that again lol

Squats:
135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 365 x1, 365 x1, 315 x3, 315 x3, 315 x3. Jello legs.

Box jumps, stepups, calf raises, leg extension circuit. Virtually no core tonight. Just drained physically and it was a mental challenge tonight but a good one. It'll make me stronger.

Oh played well too, jumper was falling, handle tight, was nice. Luckily I got to the gym about 30 mins after she finished working out. Would have been painful if i had been on time (I was an hour late lol)

Wow nice conscientious and considerate edit.  While this board sometimes lacks volume of athletes it does have an a pretty damn mature and resonable tenor especially when it comes to off topic discussion.

I needed to edit that. I kept thinking of my friend who got completely fucked over when i wrote the first message, but then realized not everyone went through exactly what he did. My apologies there!

We've all been on this board together for a long time and it's nice to see us all get each other's backs and give man to man advice.

Thanks guys. Im trying to hold on but its hard....especially at night. My demons arent playing well. No sleep. lots of drinking. stress. 2+hours of ball every day and trying to kill myself in the weight room....i just weighed in at 175.5lbs. I look like shit but i feel ok physically?  idk. just keep pushing. i miss her so much. but i cant be told its not worth it anymore. she called yesterday in tears. I had to hang up.

So again....it really is appreciated. I know ill probably never meet any of you but this board is family. We see each others struggles and trials and it just pulls us together to push each other more. It really is a sanctuary.

Easy on yourself mate, getting out of bed and about your day is plenty of achievement for what you're dealing with.

Let out all the puke man. Dont ever hold it in, you feel better as soon as its out. Keep yourself distracted with basketball and weights. Hang out with some friends if you all have time, tell them you dont even want to mention the situation. Dont tell them to console you. Just have it be a distraction as if nothings going on. The purpose of this is to see that you can find happiness in many other things Chris. All is not lost! Hopefully you can think more clearly after this.
