Rec league started....good god im sore lol!

We won but it wasnt pretty. Down 21 in the first half, 17 at halftime. Ended up winning 112-96. I literally graded myself a 'F'. Sloppy, missing easy jumpers, just rusty as all hell. Got elbowed in the 2nd half about 3 mins in...light bulb lol! Wasnt exactly my best but I'll take it. Didnt push too hard except for 2 plays, a layup with about 2 mins left to stretch a 6 point lead to 8 and when I caught some guys 3 pointer. Literally...may have been my highest jump ever. Guy was definitely a shooter and had hit like 4 3s in a row and I got sucked in on helpside and saw the kickout and all I felt was sheer anger. All i know is this: I jumped so hardy right hamstring 'tweaked' in midair, the whole gym went silent, and the guys in the bench said my knees were at his head....on a jumpshot. I saw his eyes and he changed his release point and after that...he didnt hit another 3.

I think that may be a changing point for me mentally with the knee. After the game I was dunking easy again, 2 hand tomahawks off the dribble, barely missed a huge off glass windmill, easy lobs. Felt good again.

Body comp photo, this was last week and by my guess close to 10% BF considering lower ab vascularity and such compared to this summer. BW was 179lbs this day around 8pm when this was taken. Ive been slacking a little with the lack of "conditioning" (aka hooping)

Edit....i broke the instagram embed tool lol someone wanna educate my dumbass? :)

Last nights workout at midnight...ughhh. Kinda tired this morning. Game at 745 tonight lol!

Squats: bar x8, 135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 365 x1, 365 x1, 315 x2, 315 x2. Didnt want to fatigue myself too much with a game today and knowing id get poor sleep so just made every rep explosive. Probably too much so I was in my toes trying not to jump on the 315 doubles lol!

Light weight calf raises, 450lbs, 2 sets of 12 paused/explosive.

Tried KFs version of jump squats on the sled squat thing machine (formlack of a better word smh). Did some SL 55lb reps and some 130lb reps in DL. Felt more potentiated on these for my box jumps than I do from BB jump squats (or maybey CNS was just wired well last night?). I'll find out soon enough when I do them again.

Half a core workout at BW instead of weighted.

Feel pretty good this morning so we shall see how tonight goes.

I just tried posting just the instagram link and it did the content unavailable thing as well. :/ I'll toss it on photobucket and upload that way.

Edit:

My fatty areas over the summer were outer pec and 'love handle' area.

From the chest straitions alone im gonna wager that thats well below 10%.  5-8% would be my bet.

Wow, you all really think it's that low?! Damn. I was thinking 8-10%. Cool.

2-0 in rec league! And i went the fuck OFF in this game. :D Had a baseline dunk in the first half, went crazy the last 7 mins of the 2nd half and kept us in the game almost by myself on offense and D. Blocked a last second 3 pointer on an iso play to end regulation tied. Hit a dagger step back 3 to go up 104-100 with 31 seconds to go in OT (yea...I called game with the ball still in my hands going up for the jumper lol) then had a block, rebound and layup sequence (and the foul) to seal the game. Actually felt like old, vintage me. Completely different from Mondays game. Probably helped I was playing against who i normally.play with and we were playfully shit talking each other all game. :)

Your game recaps always makes you look like Westbrook with Curry's jumpshot loll

You should get some game film and post it on here lol.  Would love to have seen that in-game baseline dunk

I do need to film :( Jumper is NOWHERE near Currys lol! And I can only wish to dunk in traffic like Russ! My game is more patterned towards a mix of... AI with a little Kobe? I prefer wing ISO like AI did where I can create for my self or others but Ive really put in work on small stuff like faceup footwork and working of PnRs for mismatches and I love 1/2 dribble pullup jumpers like Kobe uses. Ive actually slowed down in points around the rim the last few years, gotten smarter and taking less contact at the rim for that pull up 8-12 footer will lengthen my ability to play I hope. Ive also learned to conserve energy, not to tale plays off but to really pick and choose when to try and take over a game. Its not only more efficient but i think it worries opponents more. They have to stsy on their toes but the mental aspect that the guy they are giarding can suddenly run off 8-10 in a row must help.

Thanks tho! Those comparisons are flattering but i guess i did leave out i had a layup blocked and missed 3 straight 3s in the middle of the forst half lol

Thanks guys! Guess Im hard on myself...only downside, 5-8% doesnt leave a ton more I can go for. Ive been slacking a little on leg days and today was no different. im trying to balance maintaining strength without wearing myself down for rec league games and risking a fatigue injury.

Deadlifts today at 181lbs BW.

135 x5, 225 x3, 315 x1, 405 x1, 445 x1.
405 x3, 405 x3, 315 x8.

Did one circuit of box jumps, core, ham curls, core, calf raises, core, glute kick machine and box jumps. Felt pretty good and explosive today. Ate like shit tho. Currently moving back in with the wife  :headbang: and just running around all day screwed my diet. Pizza and ice cream for dinner...stomach isnt happy lol

you can use more resistance jumping in a sled machine compared to a bb. i build up to 10-15% supramax and jump with that (on machine). the glutes/quads will tighten but make sure you do not round the lower back..

when you get used to moving that very heavy resistance explosively, test your SVJ. also, you will get scratch marks from the pads all over your shoulders - part of the game.  ;D
