Interesting week so far... got back into my routine Monday with squat day. Going to try to progress for 4 hard weeks and see if i should.peak or keep pushing. Got 375lb for top single, 325 7x3 on my sets. Kept assistance work at same 8-12 rep range.

Got sick Monday night. Lost 4 lbs. WTF. Felt better late Tuesday. Said F it Wednesday and did back/biceps and some plyos. Felt alright afterward. Got a call...guys are in from school, closed gym run. 3 D2 guys, one who is probably going to the SEC next year for his JR year and a kid who graduated with my lil sis and plays semi pro overseas (China last year). Good damn runs. Did my thing and got buckets. Got in a fun dunk session afterward with 3 of the guys and holy fuckballs! I didn't feel explosive but i landed a clean windmill of the dribble, rattled kn a two hand 360, still missed the mill of the glass but backironed a lob BTL. The guys said i was getting up pretty well so i tried a BTL off the dribble and got himg on the front of the rim. Im shocked. I DEFINITELY didnt think i could get anywhere close to that. I did a few max jumps and I think a buddy got the last one on his phone, I'll ask him but it wasnt my best :( Oh well. Excited as hell!!!

Well, Austin said he got my last jump and my 2nd BTL off the dribble attempt on his phone (according to him my first jump was higher and I lost the ball on this BTL but hey lol) so I had him text me the vid. Bad idea. He has an iphone...its now less than 240p lol! So he said he'd email me them later.

And no strangling!  :-[  Im gna see if some of the guys wanna do a dunk session later this summer and film it. We all usually push each other so if i could get Thomas, Devin, Sean, JD, Austin and 1 or 2 more together for an hour or 2....that would be great.

Squatted this morning.  :ibsquatting:

BW was 181.8lbs, energy wasnt really there at the beginning but it came up some (Im not a morning person, 9am Im like a sloth lol)

Top single of 385lbs....new ATG  :personal-record: woot woot!

335lbs 7 sets of 3. Slowly pushing up to that 4 plate 1RM!

Circuit of 120lb step ups, 650lb calf raises (leg press style,  save your back!) and some lunges. Did maybe 1/4 of my core workout before having to leave :(

Went and hooped around 630pm. Ok competition with some friends, had a 2 hander down the middle and a baseline 1 hander from outside the paint that i rattled in. That surprised me. I lost the ball on the step before I had planned on planting and just went after it like a self oop lol! Got bored and decided to turn it up the last game with the score 5-4 in a game to 21 by 1s and 2s...dropped 13 of the next 16 points   :D. Ice and stretch. Going to do some back and biceps tomorrow.

Currently Im in the low 180s BW wise and jumping pretty well for being in a 'strength' block. I have maybe 3-4 weeks until I deload and peak for 2-3 weeks. I dont bulk and cut since I play year round and I always hit some plyos/jumps before I lift as a warmup in addition to playing frequently  (2-3x a week if i can, at least once a week). I'd estimate I can repeatedly get mid 30s SVJs and low-mid 40s (42-44ish) RVJs daily if I havent lifted yet that day.

PRs were set awhile back when I was low 170s BW (No upper body lifts for a minute lol) and only squatting to parallel. Now Im heavier but definitely stronger IMO. Just havent peaked it yet i hope. Those were around 46" RVJ.

As for goals...weights wise id like to see 405 ATG squat and 445 deadlift while staying below 185lbs BW. But that inly matters if i can keep my speed and explosion. I *think* I can get it this block without the lifts being 'grindy'. Jumping wise; 40" SVJ would be awesome but its not my primary focus...RVJ is and thats 50". Head at rim. Hopefully repeatable but at least once on clear video lol!

Judging from this horribly cut down iphone text screenshot from a friend I was close last Wed out of the blue

You can make out the orange box and see where the rim is from there a d of course my head. Still waiting on an email with the full clarity vid in it. >:(

Im hoping a 405 at 185 does for me :) Granted I am decently reactive from what I can tell judging from my stats before ever lifting.

Sorry, I forgot to put my current stats lol! Right now im at 385atg squat and got 395 deadlift last week, hoping to get 405 this week.

Yea...kinda LBSS. But it doesn't feel right for me to say it :/ I feel like theres another level I can reach. Just need to figure out the combo for the lock thats on it!

literally just keep increasing your squat:bw ratio and keeping up with basketball/jumping. your explosion is thru the charts it seems. relative strength is more trainable than explosive ability, so youre in a good position.
i wonder how high you'll jump at 2.5x bw atg squat

Thats the plan! im at ~2.1x bw atg squat right now so hopefully I can reach the 2.5x milestone without losing any speed during the squat, if that happens I hope im near the 50" rvj mark. I'll definitely be jumping max effort as much as possible physically at that point!

whether or not you have another level is irrelevant to the fact that you are at the far, far, far outer reaches of natural leaping ability.

Im no Tdub/Reemix/IsaacWhite/Hollywood by any means but Id like to see if i can get there through good/great genetics/reactivity/whatever you may call it and hard work. The only other person Id say is close to that would be Kilganon seeing how far he's come from age 16 and those first dunks. Which brings me to a thought...I started caring about jumping and pushing myself far later than he did so maybe, just maybe, our max limits are similar. Question is: can I get there before father time starts creeping in. I have NO clue where Id be jumping wise if I had started at age 16 or 18 instead of 25.
