Thanks!!! I'm gonma try!

Went and hooped for 4 hours today. Got in a rec league that starts tomorrow lol! I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes. Played against some local juco college players....killed it. Played a very complete game today. Shot was good, pullup and 3 ball. Was getting to the rim easy because the handle was on point and made good decisions at the rim in regards to score vs drop off dimes. Played pretty well on D too. Had two big helpside blocks and affected a few more.

Finished off with 30 mins of dead leg dunks lol! Somwhow still hit a 360 so I decided to film on the phone but couldn't get it again. :( Got rim stuffed on a huge pump reverse (imo lol). I was getting it over the rim last week so I think my legs were just going.  :/ anyways I'll toss up the vids in a little. :)

Ohh. All at 178lbs BW too. :)

I gotta learn to turn the phone on before I wear myself out.  Really thinking of asking for a cheap vid cam for Christmas.  GoPro sounds nice.

Anyway heres some vids from Sunday. These are all.from the last 15 minutes of the day. I could feel my legs coming and going but hey, gotta push through.

Two hander, working on the self bounce/lob. Works pretty well IMO.

Ummm....I tried some SL stuff. This is a hilarious SL attempt of my R leg, so...opposite my normal SL junk. Lefty attempts FTW!
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpBpMOz1ops" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpBpMOz1ops</a>

Another miss. Trying to extend where I can take off from.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUvjBus82_U" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUvjBus82_U</a>

Pump reverse fail!!! After watching the vid two things stand out... 1. If I dont pump all the way to my knees I might get it. Notnan option tho. Go big or stop lol! And 2. Im definitely over thinking the dunk. Im worried about timing it and not jumping as high as I can/should.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSLRsy1Irtw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSLRsy1Irtw</a>

Said hell.with it....regular reverse.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZVB5XwOrM4" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZVB5XwOrM4</a>

Annnnnd last jump before I collapsed over on the bench. Definitely shocked I got up like this after 4 hours. Makes me want to do a day of only jumps/dunks soon. No playing. All energy and focus on jumping.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mRtGyrEq4Q" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mRtGyrEq4Q</a>

Well thats it, enjoy and feedback as usual is welcome!

We won our first game. Blowout. Teams going to be strong this year,  good mix of players so we've got flexibility on offense and good size for rebounding. Guard play is good as well, even without me. So we should put up some good numbers. I ended with 12 points, 7 rebounds,  3 assists and a pretty emphatic block along with 2 very sick up and under reverse layups. In 16 minutes. Sat the entire second half because we were up 20. Got in a dunk off after the game with 2 other guys (6'4" lanky guy from my team and a 6'6" guy from another team) and got hyped up pretty good. Was flying! Between the crowd and them pushing me I was crushing stuff. Killed a windmill, had a huge reverse off glass and backironed a 2 handed 360 which surprised the hell out of me! Even tried catching an oop from the 3rd hash mark but the oop wasnt great and I back ironed it....left handed. Havent got up like that in maybe ever!!

Anyway thats my update. :) super stoked for next Mondays game! Gotta lay off the turkey Thursday tho!

Only gained a few pounds over Thanksgiving!  Lol! Shot a little on Sunday to try and get back in a rhythm, not anything really just an hour of jumpers and working on some moves/footwork.

We won our 2nd game Monday, barely. SMH.  Our second unit seemed to not want to rebound or defend and blew a 16 point lead with 7 mins to go down to 4 with 2:30 left before hitting a couple 3s to put it away. Ended up winning by 11 by my god it was stressful! I was damn close to putting myself and one of our bigs back in but really wanted our guys to grind it out and find a way to win, which they did. Proud of them but if we defend or rebound like that against a decent team we're screwed. :/ I played ok but my jumper just isn't falling like normal. Had 17 points in 21 minutes but was only 2-5 from 3 and missed 2 pullups that rimmed out. Its right there tho so I'll just keep pushing along and it'll come. Had some pretty assists on dump passes when I attacked the rim so that was nice. Our starting bigs played very well, good position and finished well at the rim.

Dunked around with the bigs after the game as usual and I am SO damn close to a windmill off glass when I get hyped up watching  other guys dunk lol! Got hung on the front/top of the rim on one attempt. :( I think if I took off maybe 3-4" closer I would have got it lol! Oh well, weve got a double header Thursday so I'll try again!

Since I havent been pleased with my jumper I went and put in an hour and a half of shooting drills tonight after work, we'll see if it pays off.

Won both!!!!! First game the other team was just out matched,  108-55 final score. Not a ton of highlights, our big had a nice dunk on a pick and roll situation, I put some kid on skates and into another zip code with a crossover on a iso (probably one of my better moments , I lost him so bad my brain got jumbled wondering where he went and I about missed the pass to a wide open backdoor lol) and one of our subs went OFF from 3, I counted 9 at one point. So good tune up for the second game :)

Second game we were supposed to lose...according to everyone but us. Our two bigs are 6'4 and ones good the other is ddecent. They had a 6'8" 250lb, 2 years removed from playing D1 ball in the SEC, guy and a bunch of shooters. Guess I got warmed up because I dropped 37 in 29 minutes. :) And had 16 rebounds,  a few steals and one block on the 6'8 guy where I smashed his layup off the glass from the weakside. Got our guys super pumped and put the crowd behind us squarely. :) Only downside was we lost our starting big when play got chippy, he got hit hard and looks to have re broke a bone in his hand. :( not good at all. Was pretty physical down the stretch but insanely fun because they started talking trash which just makes me zone in and go for the kill. Final was 88-81 and was the most fun ive had in a very long time on the court. Felt like a 'real' game,  chippy,  physical, trash talking and some damn good ball from both teams.

And thats my recap for tonight, legs were pretty dead after game #2 so only tried a few simple dunks, only had two shots at in game dunks, in rhe first game I went after a layup that I thought was coming out and it somehow bounced in (even my teammate thought he missed it lol) and in game two I blew by a guy and was going to attempt to dunk in the big guy, he was on the opposite block, not sure if he was gna go up but I had already decided to say f it and try lol but, I got grabbed from behind,  guy tried to take my arm off :/  oh well. Hopefully next game!

Im hoping for a gopro for Christmas lol! So if that happens yessir!!! If not I'll have to get one, I start a new job in a week and a half so I'll have some more money coming in. Still not comfortable making 'big' purchases since I left my ex, what with child support and court costs and everything unknown. :/ bah!

The rebounds shocked me, ive always been known as a scorer but I made a conscious effort to attack the glass since we were at a pretty big height disadvantage. All credit goes to my two bigs for putting a body on their big. It freed up a lot of jump balls off the misses for me, just had to out jump their guards :)

We keep winning :) were 6-0 right now after tonights game. Im having so much fun right now because for once, I dont HAVE to go drop 40+ for my team to win, so I can just PLAY. Its freaking awesome having a well rounded team :)

Anyways I got a ehhh dunk tonight in the game,  grabbed an offensive board and just went for it off no step. Figured with us up 20 I'd take a crack at it. Rattled in but off a SVJ,  im gna take it! Got called for goal tending too when I took the ball 'off the rim' will it was still above the cylinder. Kinda smiled at that call since I'm 5'10 lol!

On a related note I know I havent lifted in 4 weeks and Im HOPING things settle down now that ive got both jobs semi situated as well as daycare for my daughter.  Probably wont lift heavy or high volume during league play, just maintenance mostly. Looking for a week we play weaker teams as I know I'll be sore.

So before our last game a team mate asked me to pump up his ball and as I was doing so, I missed a crazy put back dunk off a free-throw miss. I was livid. And i imagine that's the kind of thing you get up to in games. Ive never felt so inspired/impressed at having (almost) witnessed something on teh court before. There is something special about dunking in a game. One day i'll experience it too!

Oh definitely!!!!! I get hyped just watching 3 or 4 guys dunking around (usually when I put on my best 'show' lol) but in game dunks are in a different stratosphere. Its kinda sad tho, im so used to playing with 'good' players (college guys, semi pro guys, just straight up ballers) that a 'normal' in game dunk is now an 'ehh' moment. I mean these guys are all 6'4 or taller so it happens pretty often but if someone catches a big oop or a poster or a short guy turns one over....im bouncing around the gym like a child lol

Dunking in a game doesn't compare in any way with dunking in a dunk contest or whatever. No comparison. I would take a powerful in-game dunk over a dunk contest dunk any day because it's unplanned, you don't know it's going to happen, it's athletic and it's awe-inspiring.

All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

7-0 now! Looking at the schedule we have one challenging game left and we may go undefeated! Last nights game was extremely physical, they were better served playing football. :/ Really wish we would shoot foul shots in some of these leagues, I would have had about 20 at the charity stripe. SMH. Busted my nose and lip on separate plays when their big (6'4/320lb o lineman lol) clotheslined me. Didnt hurt me just pissed me off more and made me play better. Missed a huge putback attempt in the first half, couldn't control the ball. Did get a nice lob to my big on a pick and roll but he laid it up. :( Finally got a chance to extract some revenge for the multitude of fouls with a minute left, went left and blew by a guy and was gna try a dunk from about the left block...I see their big coming over and im thinking hes going to try and jump with me so I get ready for contact and take off. Dude runs UNDER me and basically HOLDS me away from the rim! Ended up with a layup version of that Kobe on Dwight poster (dwights rookie year) and he ended up on his ass lol! I was lacking maybe 6" of reach ti get.the dunk :( looked more like a Blake Griffin 'throw the ball through the hoop' lol! Either way it felt damn good :)

Saw your dunk vids. Damn you get pretty high!

What are your current lifting and jumping stats? What were your all time bests?
