Dammit. One of these days I'm getting a good camera lol! 2 hours of footage for a 15 second highlight=acceptable trade off!

That said, lifting and ball are the two constants I have right now as my personal life is crashing fast. So no spending money right now until some things have settled down. Bah, I really need a GoPro!

Went and played a little tonight, just a few games and a couple dunks between games at a local gym. Nothing crazy. Helped my lil sis move out of her college apartment (she just graduated last month) and into her new place about two hours away. Tired of driving back and forth. Ugh.

Have you ever tried low bar squatting to see how much more you can squat and if it's better or worse?
Current PR status:

All time squat: 165 kg/Old age squat: 130 kg
All time deadlift: 184 kg/Old age deadlift: 140 kg
All time bench: 85 kg/Old age bench: 70kgx5reps
All time hip thrust (same as old age hip thrust): 160kgx5reps

I haven't. I guess I could. The high bar just feels completely natural to me. I'll take a look into some low bar vids and try it out with some light weight next squat session to see how the mechanics are.

Deadlifted friday. Played yesterday and today. Caught a half court oop today. That was cool. Also had a kinda clean one hander in the half court set.

Not to motivated to really do anything. My ex is keeping my daughter from me and im just really depressed about it.

Played a few games Thursday (yesterday), just trying to leave all my frustration on the court so I've been playing pretty aggressively this week. Played well so.maybe I should always play aggressive lol! Anyway, jumped some afterwards and tried some new stuff. I think i can get a 360 off a lob but the timing needs to be perfect, I got hung on the front of the rim twice. I'll keep working on it. Here's a ME jump at the end of the games/mini dunk sesh. May be slightly higher than earlier this week.

Legs are dead. Tried to go play today but no one was at the gym. So I shot around and jumped but I didnt feel very bouncy. Got a handful of clean dunks but nothing special. Still looking for a new gym now that I've moved.

Your vert pics are insane. It is a real shame your reach is only 7'6'' at 5'10''.
Who cares though, you are catching half-court oops now!  :highfive:

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

Thanks Vag! I will say this,  that oop was more of a perfect pass than anything else. He put it right where I could get it. :)

Sometimes I think about what it would be like to be taller or longer or whatever but they're short thoughts. Being short isn't an excuse, its motivation. I still think I can go higher and all being short will do is make it look better and hopefully motivate others! So what if I wasn't blessed to be 6'4" or something. I was blessed with good motivation and maybe a tad bit of genetics.  I'd rather focus on what I have than what I don't.  :)

Couple quick vids I took yesterday on my phone.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgwPvGLdmU0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgwPvGLdmU0</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucBREL39qGU" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucBREL39qGU</a>

Was actually pretty happy with these considering how dead my legs felt.

Totally agree. Height is given, vert improvement is earned. And i didn't even mean 6'4'' / 8'5'', just a 'regular' 6ish height and 8ish reach.
But yes, it is short thought material, maybe if you were taller you would have different levers, jumping or squatting or whatever would not be the same bla bla bla bla bla,  it is a pointless thought labyrinth. Fuck 'ifs', just keep up the awesome work.

Also, about the dunks, they look a little 'soft' most of the times? It looks like you just want to throw it in and quickly remove your hands from the area. Is there a no dunking / hanging policy so you are trying to take it easy? Because you have the height for much harder stuff.

True on the though labyrinth! Well put!

As for the soft dunks. There is technically a 'no dunking' policy but they let it slide for most of the guys that can actually do it. That said I try not to push it :) . Also,  when I attempt in game dunks I do usually try to dunk harder. I chalk it up to a few things; 1) Im much more aggressive in games, 2) I practice im usually just working on timing and such, 3) I occasionally get hung hard on the rim and if im trying to break the goal it really kills my forearm. Much pain. Other than that idk, its kinda funny because ive always been a semi powerful dunker for my size when messing around on short goals. Hell, I broke a TON when I was younger. Its gotta be psychological.  I shall keep this im mind next time! :)

I know I said I was taking today off but I got a text from some guys saying they were going to go hoop and I havent seen one guy in a minute so I went.  :) Played for an hour and a half. Not bad. Dinked around with a couple taller guys afterwards and got back to back two handed tomahawks off the dribble. Incredibly surprised.  I havent been able to do that since pre achilles! Very amped up to be able to do that on sub par feeling legs!!!!

Went and played some full court as usual tonight.  Was feeling unusually bouncy and it showed. Threw down 3 straight dunks off 1 foot between games which is a huge accomplishment for me!! Had two chances at big dunks in games; first was on a 2 on 1 fast break and I was the trailer. I got it tossed off glass to me but my teammate slowed up to euro step before he saw me and it killed my momentum a little. Still got up and went to throw it down and best I can tell/feel I put too much on it (thanks Vag lol) I saw the ball going in and my hand was inside the rim but as I pulled my hand out I hit the ball and it popped out. :( the guys said I put it off the back of the rim and then it bounced off my hand so I guess I saw it right. It had to look pretty good because I heard two kids start to yell right before it came out. Oh well. Next one was in the half court and I slipped baseline and REALLY got up, like it even FELT like a good jump. Either way the oop came in waaaaaay low (around my chest) and someone tipped it as I was basically trying to windmill it.  Probably would have missed it anyway but it wouldve been nice to try! Not sure exactly how high I got but i was up near the rim enough that the 6'6" d2 player in my team had his jaw dropped all the way down the court. :)

Overall a pretty good night even though I missed both shots at an in game dunk.

Played some yesterday and this morning nothing crazy. Lifted chest/tri and some core work last night. Chest is sore from not lifting in 2 weeks lol!

While lifting I looked around this new gym, its small but has most of the needed equipment. I did notice they didnt have a ham curl machine but had a glute/ham machine. Any suggestions on a hamstring specific assistance exercise? Or will the glute/ham machine suffice?  I really liked the ham curl since it was so targeted.
