Friday January 17 2014

Bodyweight...177-178lbs. I kind of let myself go there, eww. Will clean up the diet asap.
No soreness because I haven't been able to lift and the knee feels good so here we go!

-Warmup=jumps

-Deadlifts
(warmups) 225x5 275x1 315x1 365x1 (grip fail just before lockout). Surprising, grip failed though and I dropped it just before finishing the lift. Bah.
(worksets) 315x 5 315x5 315x4 (failed rep 5). Had to reset second set on rep 4/5 for grip as well.

-Jump squat
50lbs x5, x5, x5. Box jump supersets.

-Ham curls
120lbs x10, x10, x10.
SL 60lbs x10 each leg.

-BSS
100lbs x6 (each leg). 2 sets.

Played around with glute thrusts as well for two sets at light weight, definitely going to add them in more.

Chest/tri circuit and core work. Hadn't flat benched in a long time but got 225 for 5 pretty easy, I'll take it. Shot around in 30* weather for 30 minutes..hands went numb lol! Good session overall.

Saturday January 18th 2014.

Went and played pickup ball with some good friends for 3 hours. Hams were a little sore but that was expected, still played rather well. My buddys girl showed up at the end and took some vids. I was jumping ok  and trying to get my buddy (Blake) to get a clean dunk in and when he finally did I guess I got pretty hyped for him lol! Anyway she caught a few misses (including single leg jumps  :o lol) and a jump on her phone so I'll post them along with some clips of me playing 1v1 with dead legs afterward lol! She didn't get my clean reverse though. :(

Thought I was going to miss this one because I jumped further out than normal.

Got this one pretty clean though.
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0CAPk8E8Cw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0CAPk8E8Cw</a>

I WILL get this one!!! So close lol
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpSwSk3bbxY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpSwSk3bbxY</a>

One footed attempts. My run up is HORRIBLY SLOW lol! I'm going to start practicing these a little. It's weird I jump off one much quicker in game situations.

Pretty damn sure thats a  :personal-record: lol

I should have the game clips soon, just waiting on my phone to buzz.

Thanks LBSS!

Ian, if I had to guess, SVJ is around 34-35" as my reach is 7'6" and I can get my palm to the rim. RVJ is probably low 40s although that one jump IMO was probably a mid 40 but IDK if it's repeatable consistently.  I hope it is soon though!

Aight, Blake's woman sent me some clips from us goofing off playing 1v1. No real defense was played and the game wasn't all out by any means, more of just working on some moves. For some damn reason though she cut off me making the shots. Oh and ignore the commentary lol! That's his chick and our buddy, who didn't want his butt kicked 1v1  ;)

That last jump that you posted is insane, props. How tall are you?

5'10.5" barefoot. In those shoes its 5'11, maybe 5'11.5".  The funny thing is it FELT like a mediocre jump, I didn't feel any 'explosion' on the ankle extension. But I knew by the landing it was pretty good, I almost fell lol!

If that is, say, 3'' below rim, then we are talking about 46'', that is world class, no joke!!!  :motherofgod:  :ibjumping:

Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

Thanks Vag!
I was figuring 45ish so that sounds about right? Now to make it consistently repeatable!

Thanks guys! It may look easy, but I assure you, it is not lol!

Late but...well, that's my usual MO. :)

Monday Jan 20 2014

BW: ughhhh! 176-179lbs!
Body feels good, decent energy.

-Warmups+ jumps

-Squat
(warmup) 225x5 275x1 315x1 365x1
(worksets/banded) 315x5 x5 x5 275x8. Felt the quad burn on the 5th rep on with 275.

-Paused calf raises
590lbs x8, x8, x8. Going for 10x next session.
SL 180lb x12 each leg.

-hypers
25lb x10, x10, x10

-ton of lunges with moderate weight (100lbs)

Back/bicep and a lot of core work. Shoot jumpers for a while and stretched/iced. Good workout. I've been working on getting lower in my squats to recruit more muscle growth/strength and I can feel a difference....I have serious quad DOMS and its Wednesday lol!

Went and played some very laid back pickup ball last night. Blood flow to legs=good. Most of the soreness is gone. Should be good to go in time for Fridays session. Yay!

Played 3 hours of pickup ball. Played well until some kid disrespected me...then I went off. He was talking alot of shit for getting his ass beat so bad over and over lol! Hit the game winner from NBA range with him in my shirt and telling me to end it "if I could". I asked him if he wanted me to dribble or not then hit the jab step 3 lolol!

Wasn't feeling very bouncy/hyped up but still got some good dunks. Repeated the jump from last week two out of four times. Other two jumps were maybe 2 inches lower according to the guys. Good day overall. Probably hit the weights later since I didnt last night.
