Morning update: was extremely stiff this morning, hot shower and some motrin and stretching seemed to have helped a little.  Dull pain is constant, sharp pain if I rotate right. Definitely looks like I'll be skipping Tuesdays session. Hoping to be able to lift light next Saturday but I am willing to skip that as well if needed.

Going to pick up a belt later lol

Well...I'm pissed as shit. Felt better so I called up a buddy and went to shoot some. Played a couple light games for fun and tried some max jumps and see how my back really is. Ended up jumping pretty decent IMO and had a handful of two handers and a ton of one handed dunks off lobs and a few off the dribble.

Now for the pissed part...I had him video some so he could send me them when he got home. He sent me a few jump vids and a still of a reverse I somehow made but not the other vids, because he deleted them. Gahhhh! I'll upload what he sent later and I'm making him video again next week.

Thanks LBSS! Lol! To be honest I didn't feel 'springy' or 'bouncy' like I did last week so maybe I can get an inch higher with my CNS really revved up. I did notice while watching the vid again that my plant speed is improving slowly, its not back to where it was before I started lifting but its moving in the right direction.

Lifting belt came in today. Awesome. Going to try some low volume stuff tonight and map out how I'll lift during summer league as it seems we start play next week. Also I've decided after the season I'm going to try a split routine for lifting and see what happens. Updates on the belt and lifting tonight.  :)

Sat June 8 2013

Bodyweight: 178 dry/morning, 180 pre workout.
Soreness/injuries: back feels pretty good.
Energy: Great! Excited to lift after Thursday for sure.

Dynamic warmup: bike, tuck jumps, ankle bounces, a/b skips, karaokes, etc

Depth jumps (18" box):
8x3

Bounds:
8x2

Box jumps (40" box):
x2

Seated box jumps:
x2

4" deficit RDLs:
225x5 275x3, 315x1 335x 275x3, 275x3 225x3. Lifting belt rocks. I think I've been slightly rounding my back because I could feel the belt dig in which forced me to use better form. 335 went up surprisingly easy. Very pleased.

Banded squats (bands +120lbs at top ROM):
225x5 295x3, 315x1 355x1, 225x5. Took more time to breathe correctly, kind of shocked how easy the top ROM of the 355 was.

Ham curls:
140lbs x6. 170lbs x2

Paused calf raises (leg press machine):
590lbs x6, x6.

Rythmic Jump squats:
50lbs x5, 70lbs x5, BW x5

Same old core/upper circuit as usual. Felt very strong/fresh today no lifting for a week really helped. Back feels great so I'm thankful for that. Lower volume to try and stay fresh for summer league.

Had our first summer league game last night (Tuesday). We lost 106-99. I played like crap the first half, missed a few easy shots and had a few that went halfway in and came back out. We were done 18 or 19 at the half but almost came back just ran out of time. I played MUCH better second half but it wasn't enough. Our post is on vacation this week so I ended up guarding their 6'3" guy and I think I did ok defensively on him. Blocked a few shots and generally just tried to make him uncomfortable all game. Anyways, angry at my subpar performance I threw down a few dunks afterward which kind of surprised me seeing as I just played the full 40 mins. Next game is Thursday. Probably going to try and lift Friday and Sunday but we'll see.

Second game was tonight. We lost. Our big guy is still on vacation, they had 3 guys 6'3" or taller. Short version we got dominated on the boards and lost by 16. All the big guys were dunking after the game so I decided to try a few as well. Got a couple clean tow handers off the dribble and a few lobs. Tried a reverse but just cant get the timing yet. Anyway my buddy shot this while were we messing around, one of my last dunks so it wasn't the greatest.

No clue Raptor, he shot it on his phone so I I doubt it. :( if I had known he was going to film I would have told him to use my phone. :(

edit: turns out he has to lower the quality to send it to me otherwise its to big for his phone to send. Sorry guys.
