Ha, you're following my trajectory too Obsess with C before realising it's an awful way to get stuff done.
yup. I'll continue to use C for when I need to hack around in a kernel or do something that requires extremely simple yet crazy fast i/o / networking.. but you remember that 'crazy fast' comes at the expense of scaling, safety, readability of code, scary nested imperative loops/logic with pointer derefs everywhere.. so you remember why you're trying to get away from C. But that tradition of "Speed" stays with you. C is a high powered dragster, it's still good for some very specific things, much of them extremely low level, basically at the "well I could write this in assembly, but nah, ill write in C" arena. Haskell, rust, erlang, ocaml, go, clojure ; Thinking about each one separately -> are more of a squad of MotoGP superbikes. You're not restricted to one type of track like a dragster. You can maneuver a wide variety of terrain very easily. Your tool is much more efficient, light weight, lasts longer regarding fuel/fuel consumption, easy to tear apart and put it back together again. Tired of two bikes per track? Add 10, ok 20, ok 50, ok N. One bike goes down, the race is still exciting. One dragster goes down, it's boring. Ok that's my noob analogy for no apparent reason, just felt like drawing some kind of similarities between programming languages and automobiles. Perhaps for anyone else that may have a little itch for why they should bite down and learn something like haskell.
:F
Look for a more powerful language, fall in love with then out of Haskell, find lisp, love scheme, need something more practical, settle upon CL, love CL so hard. Then move on to Clojure, a pragmatic compromise between all those. It's my GOTO lang now.
Dope. Clojure did such great work for the lisp world. Lots of people I talk to are much less afraid of parenthesis now.
.L2:
Appreciate the GOTO reference as well.. lulz.

Cool mang... I'm slowing down on the addiction of developing "applications/services" for now. I'm dedicating a significant amount of time to the basics, with several languages. Having alot of fun. Sometimes it's a little weird, for example, spending several hours writing "length <list>" in a ton of languages, but then I just remind myself of where I'm at right now.. I'm in that dungeon with a barbell and some plates, and that's it. When I come out, should have some srs vert(). lul.

I just read in one news website that they have heard from one source who revealed mayweather's fight with canelo and robert guerrero before it was announced that mayweather and pacquiao have agreed to fight on september 2014 and pacquiao has decided just for this fight to become a free agent to get fight made. Don't know the credibility but i hope it is true and I hope they both train like they have never before and are at their prime in their fight pacquiao doesn't have to be worried of being knocked out by mayweather so can take more risks and be the same fighter he was with the same hunter instincts but smart at the same time and this would be an awesome fight.
that would be pretty epic... hope those rumors are true. I still think pbf would wreck pac at this stage of their careers.. pbf is on another level.

would break my PPV cherry for this fight.
hahah would it? ya, mine's already been busted.. i've ordered a few pbf fights. I'm normally just in awe of his skill, not expecting any ko's.
the best fights are still for free though.. just normal hbo/shobox cards

Hey Adarq check PM, thanks!
will do!
