exactly, he lost the ability to take punishment like he used to.

Yup, def brutal.

you see devon fight - I can't believe shawn porter would be that powerful and straight into action, like timothy bradley with the headbutts and coming in strong, i thought he would beat him easily as the comments i heard, sparring partner mentality, and so on. lol

paulie was quick and good, rumours of him taking on garcia interesting maybe.
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm

i've been doing tons of stretching over the last 4 days.. trying to loosen up a bit and eat cleaner.. i guess i have a fitness goal again, improving 'flexibility' to a point which ive never achieved.. just want to see how i feel by really committing to flexibility/stretching.

been feeling alot better already.. so much 'inactivity' starting to catch up with me..

and ya im just so bored lifting weights...

coding lots.. wanting to get back to playing with rust.. may jump right into some os-dev projects to peak my excitement.. havn't done much actual os-dev.. i've done lots of linux kernel stuff in the past, but pure os-dev, not much at all.. sounds like a plan.

not so impressed with porter yet... paulie would be a good fight for garcia.. garcia is very impressive.. would love to see him try and get paulie out of there. Paulie is a  hard fight for anyone so, good test for garcia.

Cotto decided to face Martinez. Both want it. Shouldn't be a problem to make it happen. Should be good to test Martinez, if he wins he still has got it.

i went for a 4 mile walk today!! hehe. Still stretching, need to get back into some long walking every nTh day... then eventually maybe do some running.

i've become a hermit.. i'm utterly obsessed with haskell.. i'm also having fun with clojure, erlang, ocaml, go, and occasionally C/node still.

clojure is much fun, especially with lein.. they tie everything together impressively.. i had some software up and running with tests and compiled down to jvm bytecode in like 5 minutes. clojure has brought me back to sicp, so instead of reading sicp with scheme in mind, you can just use clojure.. that's a huge plus.

clojuretv has some dope vids, some of the best talks i've heard in a while.. especially this one:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROor6_NGIWU" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROor6_NGIWU</a>

told by the guy who wrote clojure ^^

also for some kewl haskell talks, haskellcast is really good.. they really get deep into various issues:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YfkwfZ7AV4

I havn't checked my email in like 2 weeks...... hermit.

peace!

dope!@$!@$!@

after cotto's last appearance, im very eager to see him try and take it from martinez.. i love martinez, hoping he can come to the ring healthy.

2013 = epic year of boxing.. 2014 even better? :F

nice, my kata v2 project (Daimyo) is coming along.... the focus right now, is on tackling these standard '99 problems' (originally lisp) found on the haskell site:

http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/H-99:_Ninety-Nine_Haskell_Problems

so, for example, I am trying to complete all* of the exercises in these languages:

haskell
clojure
erlang
ocaml
C
go

laws:

1. Each exercise must be separated into it's own module, but included in the main project for that language.
2. Try and complete an exercise as many ways as conceivably possible.
3. Write unit tests for every variation of every exercise: Cunit, hunit, lein, ounit, ... etc.
4. Eventually script out some benchmarks.

pretty fun to say the least... going well so far.

Once i'm done with the 99problems in each language, I can shift back over to some fun programming, but now with a new arsenal. I will continue with progressions of various algorithms etc too though.. But once i'm done with this initial phase, i'm going to have some serious itchyness to apply these langs to some real* world projects.

fun(F) -> U * N.

gn!

Ha, you're following my trajectory too :) Obsess with C before realising it's an awful way to get stuff done. Look for a more powerful language, fall in love with then out of Haskell, find lisp, love scheme, need something more practical, settle upon CL, love CL so hard. Then move on to Clojure, a pragmatic compromise between all those. It's my GOTO lang now.
Goals: Cutting to 6-8% bodyfat

I just read in one news website that they have heard from one source who revealed mayweather's fight with canelo and robert guerrero before it was announced that mayweather and pacquiao have agreed to fight on september 2014 and pacquiao has decided just for this fight to become a free agent to get fight made. Don't know the credibility but i hope it is true and I hope they both train like they have never before and are at their prime in their fight pacquiao doesn't have to be worried of being knocked out by mayweather so can take more risks and be the same fighter he was with the same hunter instincts but smart at the same time and this would be an awesome fight.

Exactly what I was referring to

But may weather his team and Manny pacquiaos team have got hold of this and have denied it.  :raging:

I hope rumours are true but what I doubt is pacquiao hasn't visited may weather so how did they agree.

Confused

Ha, you're following my trajectory too :) Obsess with C before realising it's an awful way to get stuff done.

yup. I'll continue to use C for when I need to hack around in a kernel or do something that requires extremely simple yet crazy fast i/o / networking.. but you remember that 'crazy fast' comes at the expense of scaling, safety, readability of code, scary nested imperative loops/logic with pointer derefs everywhere.. so you remember why you're trying to get away from C. But that tradition of "Speed" stays with you. C is a high powered dragster, it's still good for some very specific things, much of them extremely low level, basically at the "well I could write this in assembly, but nah, ill write in C" arena. Haskell, rust, erlang, ocaml, go, clojure ; Thinking about each one separately -> are more of a squad of MotoGP superbikes. You're not restricted to one type of track like a dragster. You can maneuver a wide variety of terrain very easily. Your tool is much more efficient, light weight, lasts longer regarding fuel/fuel consumption, easy to tear apart and put it back together again. Tired of two bikes per track? Add 10, ok 20, ok 50, ok N. One bike goes down, the race is still exciting. One dragster goes down, it's boring. Ok that's my noob analogy for no apparent reason, just felt like drawing some kind of similarities between programming languages and automobiles. Perhaps for anyone else that may have a little itch for why they should bite down and learn something like haskell.

:F

Dope. Clojure did such great work for the lisp world. Lots of people I talk to are much less afraid of parenthesis now.

.L2:
Appreciate the GOTO reference as well.. lulz.

Cool mang... I'm slowing down on the addiction of developing "applications/services" for now. I'm dedicating a significant amount of time to the basics, with several languages. Having alot of fun. Sometimes it's a little weird, for example, spending several hours writing "length <list>" in a ton of languages, but then I just remind myself of where I'm at right now.. I'm in that dungeon with a barbell and some plates, and that's it. When I come out, should have some srs vert(). lul.

codeitup.

 :headbang:

that would be pretty epic... hope those rumors are true. I still think pbf would wreck pac at this stage of their careers.. pbf is on another level.

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/jan/02/mayweather-pacquiao-fight-2014-september

would break my PPV cherry for this fight.

hahah would it? ya, mine's already been busted.. i've ordered a few pbf fights. I'm normally just in awe of his skill, not expecting any ko's.

the best fights are still for free though.. just normal hbo/shobox cards

;f

Happy NEW YEAR Adarq, thanks for keeping this site up, and for all the inspiration you gave me this past years.
What's good ? What projects are you doing for work now?
I'm working as a dev for a mobile application company and i'm doing Android (Java) apps and IOS (Objective C) apps, and it's pretty nice.
You gonna work out this year too? :)
Cheers mate  :lololol:

Happy NEW YEAR Adarq, thanks for keeping this site up, and for all the inspiration you gave me this past years.

thanks dude! same to you

wish i wasn't so obsessed with things, i want to revamp this site like crazy.. but im just obsessed with a few projects

Quote
What's good ? What projects are you doing for work now?

ya i have a huge one right now.. but it's basically a 1 step back 100 steps forward kind of deal.. a few weeks ago i began a project to 'learn several languages concurrently'.. im doing some '99 problems' stuff in a variety of languages: c, haskell, ocaml, erlang, rust, go, clojure, scala, .. and i'm about to add intel / ARM asm to the mix, but i probably wont do 99 problems for the machine langs.. dno yet.

the idea is to become godly in one year's time.. i'm going to be implementing very basic math/comp sci concepts at first, in all of those langs, then i'll gradually incorporate more advanced concepts/stuff that requires databases/more advanced algorithms/network io/distributed systems perhaps etc.

so it's a pretty big project.. it's wrecking me mentally, but im making lots of progress.. I was surviving on 4-5 hours sleep a night, but now with this project, i really need more like 8.. it's almost as if im squatting multiple times per day, highfreq, etc.. brain forces you to rest.

dope dood!@#!@#

how you liking it? sounds fun.. so i take it everything you guys do is 'native', no intermediate frameworks to bridge both api's together etc.. something like phonegap/carona perhaps.

nah i prolly won't workout unless i can get ax$ to a boxing gym... i really don't want to lift.. i finally had it, just too boring.. i might start running in a month or so.. just getting back to 'somewhat long walks' lately.. loving it because i can listen to some good lectures and learn alot.

peace man
