bw 158

2 hours of bball stuff:
- jumps mixed in with dribbling/shooting etc.. at 1.5 hours in, my best jump/dunk attempt was probably 10'8-10'9 touch
- then i played one on one with some kid who said he was a shooting guard for a junior college, good game but he beat me 12-10
- after that game i just did a hard jump from two steps, must have been 34" off the ground, i hit both near base of palms with two hands and hung onto rim, i just took off

i think my good jumping has alot to do with dehydration, because honestly, most of my best jumps back when i was training vert hardcore came when i would lose alot of water weight.. i think my body is fired up alot more, core temperature is higher, etc.. gonna go through some of the dunk attempts, some flew out good..

i just left after that huge two hand jump at the end, i might go back tomorrow and jump again or wednesday, i dont even care i just want to practice alot of basketball and jump hard in between.. haha

when i get to 150 or so, all fat loss, i should be flying so good..

my legs feel VERY strong every time i walk the night before, for a long time.. this used to happen back when i was training vert way back too.. i think i might walk for like 4 hours tonight and see what happens tomorrow..
- my legs feel very refreshed immediately after
- my legs feel very strong and light the day after

i think walking is underrated in terms of strength, i mean, u get hours of non stop cyclic motor unit output and small ADA's, lots of blood flow, and it's not cns intensive one bit.. i think about training etc too while im walking and, i usually listen to classical on my walks.. i normally dont listen to classical during any other training.

cool shit..

for the dunks i did look at, man, most of my lobs sucked so bad.. haha.. i had alot more promising jumps for alot of those bad lobs but i just would get stuffed by the rim, bounced too fast towards rim.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysLte9IlVUY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysLte9IlVUY</a>

just one attempt from today on my other youtube.

pc!

edit: i forgot to mention, court was wet initially, so i went to this other rim, and every time i touched it during warmup jump, i got electrocuted.. hahahaha!!!! shit was crazy.. shocked 3 times so i said fuck that rim.. it was single rim, real old.

nice jumps man...good shit...so you reckon the sprints have really helped? do you think theres a significant amount of force absorption in your spriniting? nice jumps man SIGN THE F*CK UP!  >:(  :)

Bring a new jump program to the market : bananas + walking + shadowboxing = 34'' RVJ ! LOL
Now no kidding , getting back to 34 without lifting at all is amazing! Most people dont realise it , they just go "oh! 34! got any dunks? got any pics/vids? now go to 35!". 34 with your type of approach is HUGE!!!
Start doing SLRVJs too , get everything up! Peak conditioning , quickness , power , DLRVJ , SLRVJ , become legendary! :D
Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

thanks man..

ya the sprints have very much helped but they are very taxing for me.. i really get hammered from them, i think it's because growing up i really never sprinted MAX V hardly EVER, since all i did was play basketball, all of our sprints involved court length (suicides/gassers etc), so i never really went above 30-40 yards haha.. i mean of course doing other stuff i have sprinted over 30-40, but we're talking 99% <=30yards, 1%>30 yards during my developmental years... doing sprints the way i have been has really been hitting my hams/quads very hard, calfs seem adapted.

there's a huge amount of force absorption in sprinting, especially at max velocity.. plus max V = insane type IIx (fastest motor units) fiber recruitment.

im about to start phasing in some other stuff too.. i want to turn my basketball training sessions into a bit more, for example, jump rope rounds thrown in, single leg box jumps thrown in, stiff leg ankle hops thrown in, broad jumps thrown in.. not sure how im going to do it yet, but if tomorrow i feel good i will just wing it.. i will probably end up winging it regardless, every time.

peace man

lol!!

the problem with SLRVJ's is they wreck my hamstring tendon, but ive been hitting rim on some of my left handed layups recently so that's a good sign.

the 34" jump was insane, i mean, it was nearly 2 hours in, after an intense 1 on 1.. i had sweat a ton by then AND that 1 on 1 was 100x more intense than i had been practicing.. so i think it kicked my body into overgear, kind of how that cop shit gave me two more inches (on vert l0l0l0l) that night.

plus, i was showing off.. i mean the kid was there after our game so, you know me, i always do better in those situations..

1 on 1 + lots of sweat + showing off = win.

im curious to see how ill jump tomorrow (if i feel bad i wont).

ive never jumped that high though, for sure, without weights.. i have NEVER grabbed a 10' rim two handed except when i trained for vert with all that lifting during that 2 years etc.. so it was a pretty crazy feeling, the jump felt perfect too, finally it felt 'stiff'.

peace man!@$!@$!@

2nd straight day of 6 hours sleep, i am WRECKED... almost fell asleep on the way to the court.

did mostly single leg jumps/layups.. i'm happy with the SL jumps, i hit about 10'5 MAX, which is good considering my best ever SLRVJ was 10'7 when i lifted.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA-0LelgH3U" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA-0LelgH3U</a>

from a single leg jump:

it's funny, even though i couldnt even get myself to do a DLRVJ, i could do tons of SLRVJ.

im basically flaling asleep as i ost this! heh....

peace
