there are two parties because the US has a first past the post election system and single-seat/district legislatures at the state and federal levels. because it's winner-take-all, advantage goes to candidates with a lot of resources and the ability to draw on a fairly wide swath of voters within a given electoral geography. third parties rise to prominence, briefly, from time to time (most recently the greens a little more than 15 years ago, may they rest in pain, the fucking assholes, they're partly responsible for dubya). but because they almost always finish third, they can't get into the government and therefore can't accomplish anything. so they shrivel again.

we actually have other parties: the greens are still around, the libertarian party, a couple of socialist parties. but none of them hold any elected office of note.

romania has proportional representation, so even if a politician/party doesn't get the most votes, s/he/they could still get into the government.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

Sounds like a democracy more than what you have.

REST. bottom's of both feet sore, so, not worth training.

04/12/2016

Bio: Morning

sleep = 8 hours
wakeup =  2 PM
bw = 153
morning resting heart rate = didn't measure
soreness = plantar fasciae on both feet (right is worse), left heel slightly
aches = right tennis elbow slightly
injuries = toenails wrekt
feel = good

Food

2 PM

- greek yogurt
- pure sugarless green tea

Food

10 PM

- 1.5 cups couscous with grilled chicken, carrots, various peppers, olive, garlic, mixed nuts
- some blue corn chips

Food

11 PM

- small bit of ice cream

Food

4:30 AM

- greek yogurt
- banana

Session: Recovery

- stretching throughout the day

right bottom of foot fuqn sore. eeh. left heal slowly getting better.

lots of coding today.. but, mostly cleanup. seems like i'm mostly cleaning stuff up lately. the GOOD news is.. i actually ran the app on this linode server. I expected it to be a little faster than my local-dev environment but, it was crazy fast. There's alot of latency in my local-dev environment because everything goes through a VPN.. so.. that was fun to see.. stuff that was taking ~4sec to load was loading instantly for example.

also after cleanup, haskell backend has 0 warnings.. purescript frontend still has a ton of warnings.. trying to get rid of all of these warnings, bothers me. Lots of the warnings are on stupid things like imports/exports not being used. bleh.

if my damn feet are fine tomorrow i'd like to run/jump, but, i doubt it.. might need another day.

throughout the day

- stretching everything, randomly throughout the day

both feet still sore. both of them getting better, but not recovered enough. left heel is barely bothering but, i can still feel it slightly. wonder wtf happened in there.

funny how jacked up my body is getting.. but i'm glad that i'm resting more instead of training through it. That's a good thing. FWIW, i've never really committed to running + jumping in the same session, like I am now. When I was younger i'd jog ~1 mile to the court then play bball - somewhat often, but that's nothing compared to 4 miles then doing "near-ME jumps", then running 4 miles back. So, this is a fairly new stimulus i guess. I think it's definitely the near-ME jumps after running which has caused these breakdowns.. I mean I did that light jump sessions where I ran, then performed ~120 light jumps, then ran back.. and felt fine the next day. Once I really pushed it on a few jumps, the next day I was wrecked.

I don't like these aches/soreness so, not going to push through it.

On my right foot, most of the soreness is where I had a huge thorn go through my vibram and into my foot (about a year ago).. wondering if that's what is actually messed up.

Once I heal up, i'd like to get 3 days in a row of run + jump.

raptor, give me a few to check that out. at first glance it reminded me of office space, like LBSS said... if you're down for a comedy, that's a great one, check it out.

morning resting heart rate = didn't measure
soreness = left heel slightly
aches = right tennis elbow slightly
injuries = toenails wrekt
feel = good

Food

1 PM

- greek yogurt
- wheat bread with peanut butter
- beet juice + tart cherry juice
- pure sugarless green tea

Session: Afternoon

3 PM

run to court:
- ~3.65 mi in ~27 min
- first mile was decent, under 6:40's, next were 7:xx's

jumps:
- max 10'4", bunch of 10'3"s
- did some long runups

run + sprint home:
- ~3.65 in ~32 min
- some nice light sprints (for distance) mixed in, hit ~12mph

Food

5 PM

- 2% milk

Food

8 PM

- beet berry juice
- almond joy

Food

9 PM

- some horrible soup, threw most of it out
- 2 x veggie egg rolls
- 1 pint haagen dazs because the soup sucked so bad and i didn't want to make anything.. was planning on having that tmw, so just had it today instead

Food

5:30 AM

- greek yogurt
- banana

left heel a bit achy.. both bottoms of feet a bit sore. sacral spine issue flaring up a little.

got so damn tired of serializing my types between haskell/purescript finally.. i can't take it anymore.. so, started modifying someones library to automatically do it for me:

https://github.com/adarqui/purescript-interop/tree/exp

that's the fork.. i'm probably going to upload my own version and give him credit for the base idea.. but my version will be alot simpler. I'm basically creating an internal representation of some types, then going to allow you to generate output based on different codecs.. i also have to generate lenses and fields.. and map various types to other types.. and output files based on a module directory hierarchy.. bleh tons of shit to do... but my initial experiment worked.. so I THINK i'll be able to auto-generate ALL of my types, json, and MAYBE even API code.. that'd be damn nuts and would save me tons of time.

going to work on that all day tomorrow, and subsequent days until I get it done.. coding shit twice is just too brutal.. need to auto-generate all of this stuff.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Big Bern destroyed Hilldog last night.  Once I saw that he wasn't a gun grabber like Hillary I became a little bit more at ease if he were to win.

bernie is a beast

btw there's like 0 gun grabbers. obama was supposed to be the for real this time gun grabber.. look how that turned out. lol

i dont think he destroyed her unfortunately. he needs to get better at answering the gun questions.. that's one area where he's always too passive. he needs to be alot more aggressive in explaining why you shouldnt be able to sue a gun manufacturer who is making a legal product. i don't get liberals who are for that. asking him to apologize for a logical policy stance is typical snaky hillary.. bernie has said that if she wants him to apologize to sandy hook victims, she should apologize to families of fallen soldiers killed in iraq. dno why he didnt hit her with that. maybe too much for the deb8 stage, or it slipped his mind like usual. wish he'd tighten up on that shit.. like when she told him it's not a laughing matter (when he was laughing while she was talking about guns), but she laughs in response to everything he says.. this is all stupid imagery stuff but he's just not great at seizing those moments in debates.

Hillary has said before that the first thing she wants to do if she gets elected is to ban pistols and to look into Australias gun laws aka confiscation.
