"looks good and cooks a mean steak" -- weber

jajaja.

ya man can't wait. going to be nice having a grill. i imagine i'll use it more for grilled veggies than steaks/chicken etc. dno yet. ;f

someone tagged me in a very old photo (for sad undiscussed reasons). this is probably from 1993.

surprisingly good smile in this photo. :ninja:

the kid in front of me, leaning onto the chair, was probably my best non-computer friend growing up. so best irl friend. he's the one who tagged me.

been busy af.

been jacknobbering the last 3 days. really tearing apart my adductors/hamstrings, in a good way potentially.

felt those spots in my muscles as i was running today. but instead of feeling worse after, i felt great. good sign.

bw: 147
bw after run: 141

06:45 PM: light trek: 3h5m
- https://www.strava.com/activities/2747913284
- decent for not having run in like over 7 days
- as mentioned above, felt spots in my muscles that ive been hitting hard with the jacknobber .. trying to break up whatever is going on in there, that's causing them to be tight. this has been going on for years i imagine. but got worse with injury. so, main mission right now is to somehow restore function there. i have some excruciating spots in my adductors.. i can hit most areas and everything is fine, then bam, too much pain. good that im identifying more spots now.

last 2 days: hardcode jacknobber. digging in real deep.

after that ~15 mile track, best ive felt afterwards. nothing tightened up for 2 days. something is tightening up very slightly so, hitting it hard w/ jacknobber. planned to run 20 miles tmw, but going to some meetup. so, def will try to do a long run thursday.

injury could be clearing up after 8 months total, but not sure yet.

close call with gizmo tonight. still freaked by it. lucked out.

quick recap:
1. walking the pups down a quiet street (north/south).
2. ~100 yards from palmetto (cars go 50+ mph, very busy road) (west/east).
3. someone's dogs just bumrush a weak fence and my dogs freak.
4. by the time i realize it, a few seconds later, gizmo is ~40+ yards from me, running full speed towards palmetto.
5. so i had to hit the afterburners with james to catch him.
6. i didn't even know i was running with james.. i just reacted into a full speed sprint knowing he was closing in on the busy street. kind of had that "impending doom feeling", and just went all out.
7. once i got to him, about 20-30 yards from the street, he finally stopped and i also realized james had been flying with me.

was insane. never had that happen to me before.

luckily he was running with the leash attached, it probably slowed him down a bit. even so, he was flying with it dragging against the ground. normally gizmo doesn't even move if i'm not holding the leash, he hates it dangling on the ground etc. he'll just freeze. but this incident freaked him so bad he just took off.

whenever i'm by a road with cars, i hold the leash tighter, just in case something like that happens. so i was kind of holding it relaxed because we were in such a quiet spot. never in a million years would i expect him to freak AND just take off non-stop. now i'll be more aware of that.

i'm still surprised/baffled at how far he was, only a few seconds later. i mean he was def very far from me, it was insane. a true holy shit moment.

so lucky.

going from zero to this in 2 years is pretty cool:

2 load balanced web boxes: ~10,000 requests per minute
application/reporting db's: ~1,700 queries per second

(not including other infra/stats)

golang ftw :ninja:

bw = 144

tons of very long hold stretching today

injury areas felt like crap after last night's run. sux koz they felt great after the run several days ago.

sprinting after my dog could have tweaked em a bit. i remember feeling it a little after that adrenaline wore off.

soreness: quads
- from 13.x mi on roads
- next run session should be mostly on grass

an absolute shit-ton of hamstring/glute/ext rot/int rot "marches", while watching track & field/rogan podcast. def been getting stronger on these.

some brutal jacknobber into my right glute to finish off the night. about an hour's worth. serious release on a few occasions. needs to be permanent.
