hah almost forgot to mention this.. i think it deserves its own post anyway.

im at this one court and this ~14 year old kid starts pointing at me. He's telling his friends something. So eventually he waves me to come over then says: "yo can't you dunk?" .. i'm like, "no, I can't.".. he goes, "are you sure?" .. i'm laughing and go "ya, definitely can't dunk". So he goes, "I know I saw you dunk before years ago. You'd go *tomohawk gesture* and *BTL gesture*" and i cracked up.. i said, "well ya kinda tomohawk, but definitely not BTL. I used to dunk out here ~4 years ago".. he smiled/laughed and was like "I KNEW IT!".

hah. that's pretty cool and weird.. he must have been like ~10 when I was out there dunking.

life.

Kell brook vs Gennady golovkin finalised for september at middleweight of 160lbs. Another ballsy from a boxer.
He is a good overall boxer, he has power, boxing skills but ggg will def be too much for him. but if he does pull it off, without holding and hitting like he did shawn porter, then he would have gained my respect.
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Strength comes from the legs, Power comes from the torso and Speed comes from the arm. Al Vermeil
Arm also aids the legs in driving it down with power - seifullaah73

nice! I wouldn't even mind if he held + hit though.. as long as he's trying to beat GGG without being 'cross-the-line dirty', i think we can't blame someone for doing that. Kind of like when Maidana held/hit mayweather in the first fight. He roughed PBF up like CRAZY.. it made for a great fight.

fighters are going to need to pull everything out of the bag if they want to able to beat GGG.

purescript 0.9.x compiles the new forum app so slowly (~8 minutes) that I am going to ditch purescript. I can't develop like that. I'm going 100% haskell and that's it.

it's a really bad feeling though.. i'm actually somewhat depressed about it. I really love purescript, but at this point in their history, they just aren't focusing on compiler optimization which is something you need to be able to support large projects.. and our project is LARGE. So I just can't wait for them.

;/

well that just delayed the F out of everything.

really bummed about it. It's all a big learning process though so can't let it continue to bum me out for much longer.

i think one of my dogs has ringworm.. fml.

about to take him to the vet. still haven't slept. not going to sleep for a while. today sucks. i honestly feel like im just going to have a heart attack from staying up instead of sleeping. can't sleep when i need to take my dog to the vet though.. it's impossible.

as for ghcjs .. i think i got it working. everything seems to be building with the setup i want.

probably not ringworm.. they took a culture and gave me topical anti-biotics etc though.

nice. hope it's literally just a weird scab.

ringworm would really suck.. contagious af apparently.

well today was kind of horrible, because of the sleep/dog stuff.

Food

8:15 PM

- cheerios with 2% milk and honey
- beet + tart cherry juice

Session: Evening

9 PM
- shoes: saucony XC

run to court: 0.87 mi in 5m19s
- annoyed, forgot to turn off my watch.. actually ran that in ~5m09s
- ran really good for how bad i felt leading up to it .. actually felt great pushing that pace
- ~5:55 min/mi pace

jumps at court: submax
- L-SLRVJ: ~10'6
- R-SLRVJ: ~10'1
- LR-DLRVJ: ~10'4
- RL-DLRVJ: ~10'3
- MR tuck jumps: ~5 x 5

going to start adding in some DLRVJ's :F DLRVJ felt like total crap, but, it's definitely improved since I last attempted them.. was really surprised at my RL-DLRVJ being so close to LR-DLRVJ.. jumping DLRVJ in the saucony's is a bad feeling though, would feel better in my NB XC 900 v2's.

run + very short sprints: 5.34 mi in ~44min
- actually had to cut this short because of some weird car.. have to be careful

really proud of myself on this one: since i'm moving everything to haskell.. I decided to port my purescript-bbcode-parser to haskell tonight. The mission was to get it working before I go to sleep. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED:

https://github.com/adarqui/haskell-bbcode-parser

Code: [Select]

Progress: 1/2
Data.BBCode.Parser
  concatTokens
concatenates subsequent BBStr tokens into one BBStr token
  concatBBStr
concatenates subsequent BBStr tokens into one BBStr token
  parseTokens'
parses a string into open, str, and closed tags
  parseBBCode
parses a string into bbcode tags
Data.BBCode.Types
  flattenTokens
    flattens tokens into a string

Finished in 0.0124 seconds
5 examples, 0 failures

Completed 2 action(s).

I literally ported EVERYTHING over, including the tests.. and it works. I had to do a ton of stuff to get it working, tons of changes.. so, proud of myself for once by being able to get this done in only a few hours. :D

peace!

haven't been on much today.. been so busy looking into React + Flux, because reflex seems like too much for me atm.. react/flux make more sense given my current ui code. So, haskell has a react-flux library which is very impressive. Just got done getting a routing example working, and i must say i am much more excited to get back to migrating this forum code back over to this new framework + haskell full stack.

wakeup = 1 PM

morning resting heart rate = didn't measure
soreness = calves slightly, hamstrings slightly
aches = right hip flexor slightly
injuries = left ankle slightly (lateral malleolus), right knee scrape
standing desk (when on computer): none
feel = weak
water = alot

moving LEFT ANKLE issue to injury.. seems to be a constant nag now when I initially start running. It goes away but, something can't be right in there.. it's

bleh!!

Food

1:30 PM

- green tea
- 2 x wheat bread with peanut butter

Food

5 PM

- green tea

Food

6 PM
- beet + tart cherry juice
- cheerios + 2% milk + honey

Session: Evening

9 PM
- shoes: xc 900 v2

run to court: 0.97 mi in 5m25s
- wtf? ran unexpectedly fast
- i decided to push it on the way up, was definitely moving..
- but close to a PR mile without knowing it? wtf?
- 1km: 3m15s (-6s off PR)
- predicted mile: 5m32s (-7s off PR), @ 10.83 mph
- also i crossed two streets.....

crazy

jumps at court:
- L-SLRVJ: ~10'6"
- R-SLRVJ: ~10'0"
- LR-DLRVJ: ~10'6"
- RL-DLRVJ: ~10'4"

felt way better jumping in the xc 900 v2's.. much safer feeling when doing DLRVJ.. got up good on a few DLRVJ's. crazy though, legs feel really weak jumping DLRVJ, maybe i'll make some good gains if I stay consistent with it.

L-SLRVJ was submax .. so decent jumps.

slow run: 3.28 mi in 25m
- first mile 6m36s, which is good after jumping
- dead, drenched.

Food

- big stir fry: 2 broccoli (head + stalk), 1 potato, 1 carrot, kalamata olives, 1 head of garlic, 1/2 green pepper, red chili pepper, serrano pepper, 1/2 plantain, 4 turmeric, mixed nuts, olive oil, goat cheese at the end
- a few crackers
- some cherries
- green tea
- water w/ lemon

i feel like a teenage girl taking pics of my food.. but it's fun.. makes me want to cook healthier EVEN MORE.

walked a bit to warmup, then started training

I FORGOT TO PLUG MY WATCH IN: will do tomorrow.. thus no actual data

run to court: ~1 mi ~6m:15s

court too slippery

run to another court: ~1 mi in ~8m

jumps:
- absolute crap, ~10'3 highest on SLRVJ & DLRVJ
- was absolutely drenched already, legs dead

run home: ~3.5 mi in ~28min?

lots of coding.. nothing spectacular though.. still haven't been able to start rebuilding the forum app in react-flux, i don't know it well enough yet. need to do some other small projects with it first i think, like todomvc client + ui routing + ajax to integrate with a todomvc backend.
