Sorry if there's an obvious answer to these questions that I'm missing, but:

Quote
- i need to get leaner

Okay, but

Quote
- i need to put on muscle using bodyweight movements (pullups/pushups) somehow

I'm sure you know this, but given where you're at right now, there's no way in hell you can add muscle while getting leaner. Only super fatties can do that. You are pretty lean to begin with. And why can't you use weights?

nono i know, i want to get leaner THEN add a bit more muscle.

i can use weights im just trying to use only bodyweight..

~6% bodyfat first then put on some more muscle..

peace

edit: when i was boxing way back i was alot leaner.. hitting the bag is some damn good cardio.

Sorry to be obtuse, but, why? Just cause you want to? That would make sense, I'm just curious. You should check out Jim Bathurst's website: http://beastskills.com/. Lots of tutorials on bodyweight strength exercises/gymnastics stuff. Jimmy can do all kinds of crazy stuff like clapping handstand pushups and one-armed pullups and deadlifting 500 pounds. And obviously gymnasts are all super jakt without using much in the way of weights.
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.

ya I just want too... I've put on mass with lifting of course, but I've never been able to put on any considerable lean mass using BW exercises, which bugs me, considering I have done so many pullups/pushups per workout with somewhat high frequency.

I need to play more with tempo/isos + frequency.

ya beast skills is a pretty pimp site.

if i ever am able to do a side flag, the world will end :)

ya those guys practice all the time (high freq) plus put themselves through all kinds of movements isotonically/isometrically.

i know alot of guys that do a TON of military style PT pushups and put on no muscle cross section.  Probably a combination of lack of external load and diet. Just adding that in

ya, I guess I shouldn't be whining though, It definitely has been on a little bit. More than that, it has kept me from regressing chest-wise, considering how my chest ends up if I don't do pushups/train it.

I wish I had h.s. pic, had absolutely no muscle on it.

I need to start doing all my bodyweight shit weighted, no excuses.

ya i know i was going to edit that but already left. haha

going to do dips tonight on bars and pullups with a long ECC, no added weight.

when you know adding weight works so well it's always your first thought :)

alternated dips with neutral grip pullups, eyes still very tired from that damn solution.. tho i think they will be better tmw, got new solution.

neutral grip pullups:
- something like 17,15,12,12,12,12,10,hold at top (~40s) + hold at bottom (~30s)

dips:
- hard as fuck havn't done them in a long time.. (lightbulb!)
- 8,12,12,10,10,weird stuff,weird stuff etc

glute bridges:
- 70, 70, 70

tmw is jumps + jogging

ok this is entering my mind:

Day 1: BW strength
+ possible shadowboxing
- push
- pull
- lower-1
- lower-2
- calf

Day 2: Explosive + middle distance
- jumps/reactive exercises/plyos/whatever
- run until i die, mid foot

need to get back on that natural GHR, get nasty at dips, get better at pullup holds, etc.

real good workout! new contact solution fixed my eyes too... my ankles felt very strong.

jog to court
- off and on, just warming up

rim jumps : alternating LR & RL DLRVJ's, from 1-3 steps, for 40 jumps
- mostly did two step approaches
- MIGHT have got 10'5 on a LR.. definitely 10'4
- interesting thing is my RL was hitting around 10' - 10'1 every time

rim jumps: alternating L and R SLRVJ's, from ~3-4 steps, for 20 jumps
- left leg SLRVJ's got about 10'1 or so
- right leg SLRVJ's still can't get 10', like 9'8 or something heh

sprint/jog, alternating sprint pole 2 pole and jog pole 2 pole:
- my pace was WAY higher today on my jogging.. usually i go very slow, but tonight i kept it up
- sprints were good, toes up + using hip extensors alot better than normal
- heel hardly ever collapsed
- did about 3 miles of this, only stopped once for about 30s

i was sweating like a piG, was very warm out tonight finally, which is great i'd rather feel real warm/loose.

overall, very good workout.

peace

BW: 159

rotation of, chinups, fast BW squats, some kind of single leg squat

chinups:
- 17, 17, 14, 12, 10, ~40 seconds hold at top, ~30 second hold at top

bw squats:
- 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20

single leg squat variation:
- 10e, 12e, 15e, 15e, 20e, 25e

pushups on handles:
- 30, 25

right elbow bugging out a bit, think from the chinup holds at the top

single leg squat var was killing my glutes

quick bw squats were killing my quads

poop.

man my left ribs that i broke when i was young, they strained a bit (intercostals or something) doing dips last time.. so i was cramping alot today.

wore my new nike zoom waffles today.. liked em.

edit: glutes were so sore too from those damn SL squat variants.

light 1/4th mile "sprints" SUPERSETTED with backpedal sprints of ~20 yards:
- 1:19
- 1:33
- 1:27
- WEAK
- even tho they were light, felt it in lungs

backpedal sprint to open up sprint ~30-50 yards:
- 7x
- last one sprinted like 80 yards or so

rebounding "box jumps" on an 18" bench:
- felt weak on these
- 3 x 10

~2 mile jog on midfoot/ball of foot:
- cramping

gotta improve all that stuff.. backpedal sprint to open up sprint is so damn fun.. all out sprints felt good.
