was supposed to jump/sprint/ankle+squat stuff, but my left hammy is still toast.. so sore.. it was cramping up bad while shadow boxing. stretched it out between rounds, got a bit better.

7 rounds shadow boxing:
- felt real good

neutral grip pullups:
- 15, 12, 10
- it's funny how dead i get after shadow boxing... i mean my lats are so tight after shadow boxing, i can feel they are so fatigued.. it always shows in my pullups afterwards.

RE:STARTING OVER AFTER 6 MONTH DETRAINING & MENTAL DELERIUM

3/03/2010

LR plant jumps:
- best around 10'3
- felt better than last session

RL plant jumps:
- best around 10'
- couldn't even get rim last session

SVJ's:
- a little above bottom of backboard, hardly any knee bend
- around 9'8" or something?

SLRVJ: left leg:
- best of around 10'
- felt good from a few steps
- broke down after ~3+ steps

SLRVJ: right leg:
- best of around ~9'6" or something horrible
- ahaha

pole sprints:
- felt really bouncy even tho my jumps didn't indicate it
- old hamstring tendon injury seems to bug out after jumps, felt it pretty bad for my first ~12 sprints
- ran a few 2 pole and 3 pole sprints, 100-150 yards or so
- conditioning felt good, we're talking 3+ miles of pole sprints

poonanny squats:
- 100 lb @ 3 x 5
- got a small amount of air on them, sort of like jump squats
- felt strong on ball of foot
- couldn't NOT get air because i was pushing through my toes hard

poonanny stepups:
- 75 lb @ 3 x 5 each leg
- could not help but to explode onto toes and drive knee up

ok word pc, let's see how fast I can get back up to 33" rvj..

need to make sure i don't rip my ham tendon bad again, feels like it's on the verge already..

i want to be able to do interval sprints for like 5+ miles, shit is too fun.

sore as hell in quads/hams, ham-tendon-injury bugging a bit.

TONS of pushups on pushup handles, but playing around with some new stuff:
- mostly one leg pushups, with other leg in bent-leg hip extension
- this killed my vmo on the straight leg on the ground.. glutes also had fatigue
- felt VERY good
- probably over 250 pushups in this fashion, quads are fatigued

stretching, because the single leg pushups made my ham tendon go crazy:
- a few stretches held for ~5 minutes or so each
- tendon stopped bugging

ps: I'll get video up of that (SL pushups) soon, and a few other exercises (poonanny squat/stepups).

whats a 10 3 touch for you equal in rvj?

maybe you should experiment with becoming a one leg running vertical jumper...would be interesting to see if you could get to 11 feet plus that way..plus i think it would be easier to dunk that way consistently..plus u could show raptor after all these years the RIGHT way to do it

ya as you saw, that's one of my goals now.. I'm going to try and PR LR, RL, L, and R.

lol @ the raptor comment, but ya that's a good challenge for me :)

I hit 128" on vertec single leg one time, back when my DLRVJ was around 129" or so... That put it in my head that I could get my SLRVJ up, so I trained it a bit and it went back to like 123-124", so I went back to pure LR-focus.

ya man I'd love to get my SLRVJ up, I actually think I can get it over 11 feet if I focus on it properly.

so ya, I want 126" touch off SVJ, 134" touches on LR & Left SLRVJ, ~130" touches on RL & right SLRVJ.

the only thing in my way is my hamstring-tendon-injury, which everyone will be reading alot about in this journal, because it's always on the verge if re-ripping, it seems... but I've managed through it before plenty of times, just have to be careful and stretch the hell out of my hamstrings.

peace man

hamstrings/quad/left hipflexor feeling tight/sore.. sucked

worked out from 12:30am to 2:45am

jog to bball court on toes:
- off and on, 1.5 miles

LR DL RVJ:
- 124" touch for sure, pulled rim good

RL DL RVJ:
- 120" touch

L SLRVJ:
- ~122" touch
- had some good ones

R SLRVJ:
- got up a bit better, hit bottom of backboard

VJ:
- only did a few, boring

did mostly left leg SLRVJ's... those seem to be what hurt my ham tendon the most, unfortunately.

ankles felt alot stronger than last workout.

was going to do sprints but, hamstrings/quads just way too sore.. so I did lots of light SL bounds:

light SL bounds:
- about 20 sets each leg, god damn
- just walked down the sidewalk, recovering, then doing the SL bounds
- started off doing sets of 5 each leg, they felt so bad
- then they got stronger, got to 10
- then even stronger, got to 15-20 each leg
- then got tired, back down to 10

neutral grip pullups:
- 15, 12, 10
- feeling tired

poonanny squats:
- 115 @ 3 x 5
- this is definitely my limit on squatting on my toes.. i unrack the bar/walk out on my toes, with 115, i was struggling to keep balance and stay on my toes perfectly.. i ended up hitting my heel a few times just standing, or coming up from the squat..
- so goal is to volume this, get stronger at this weight, so that im able to completely control it
- squats felt good, lots of hamstring/quad

thats it.

legs felt great today.. slight soreness in hamstrings, but legs felt strong all day.

pushups on handles:
- TONS of pushups on handles.. at least 400.. including holds and stuff like that.. been doing pushups all day.

spinach:
- 1 bag

tomorrow i think im going to do tons of pullups... i don't really know if I want to jump every other day.. every 3rd day sounds better, i don't want to become obsessed with it again, even though I want to get my vert way back up.

peace

outta curiosity, as a left right planter, do you always approach the rim from the LEFT of the hoop...ive started to do it for some reason from slightly right of the hoop...IDK

ya always.. i've done dunks from the other side going LR, but I feel much better coming in from the left.. I have alot of rotation in my LR plant, so, if i came in from the right, i'd have to time everything alot better, or use my left arm which would be much more natural, but i didn't make use of that much.

I've been practicing my RL's coming in from the right..

dno, just feels right, but i'd like to become more versatile now.

bw 161

brain is mush today from all those pushups yesterday.

man those turkey hotdogs are messing up my stomach, i have to stop eating them... my stomach has been hurting since eating them, then for this workout it was real bad.

3 sets of neutral grip pullups: real weak today

shadow boxing:
- 8 rounds shadow boxing

backpedal sprints:
- a bunch, ~10 with 10 strides
- 10 with 20 strides
- 10 with 5 strides

im doing squat isos and glute iso stuff right now cause im annoyed.

EDIT: NO-HOMO.

weak physique pic below..

- i need to get leaner
- i need to put on muscle using bodyweight movements (pullups/pushups) somehow
- going to up frequency and work on slow eccentrics

Sorry if there's an obvious answer to these questions that I'm missing, but:

Quote
- i need to get leaner

Okay, but

Quote
- i need to put on muscle using bodyweight movements (pullups/pushups) somehow

I'm sure you know this, but given where you're at right now, there's no way in hell you can add muscle while getting leaner. Only super fatties can do that. You are pretty lean to begin with. And why can't you use weights?
Muscles are nonsensical they have nothing to do with this bullshit.
