For activation issues and doing TKES and glute/calf isos
should i being aiming to do these activation exercises throughout the day or should once a day be sufficient?
and many repetitions as well?

and same goes for low box drops...aim for high reps w/ good quality since im just ingraining landing form?
and do i need to take long rest periods in between sets?

Hey Adarq and Lance,

Question about my jumping and landing technique.

I find that when I focus on just doing a standing vertical jump, I have unequal push off from my legs
leading me to not jump straight up.

what would be the best way to coordinate/teach my body to give equal force distribution from my legs?
-slow down my jump and focus on pushing off equally?
-strengthen my weaker leg (which has knee pain)

and into the landing phase, i find that I load + and shift my weight more onto my stronger leg . anything i can do to correct that as well?

Leg injury = Ankle sprain which i never took care of
after going on bosu ball, i realize that my ankle stability/proprioception sucked
which i think led me to have hip and knee tracking problems b/c the knee and hip has to compensate to be "mobile"

combined w/ inactive glute med. on that same side ( which i think couldve came from the ankle sprain) , led to tight
IT band...further contributing to patellar tracking problems.

yeah i was injured when i was jumping lower. then I lifted weights (squats and such) so i did get higher--able to touch rim.
and im not saying that im going to stop heavy squatting forever b/c my motor patterns have improved. in fact, i cant wait to get back at it when my knee is in healthy form again, but until then I'm just going to work on moving right. so that when i can start squatting again, i can really maximize my results. So i definitely do agree with you. 

but yeah, my main point was to just highlight how helpful it is (at least for me) to get moving right first, instead of just ignoring it and keep on squatting. taking a few steps back now, so i can take huge steps forward later!

Just highlighting the importance of rehab and muscle activation/correct motor patterns

Been really working towards improving my motor function of my hips (especially my glute med),
along w/ getting my ankles proper mobility and proprioception.

As a result, my injured leg has been feeling a lot better.
In addition, having better motor patterns has helped me maintain my jumping ability.

I have not been squatting heavy for quite a long time (2-3 months), yet i believe that
through changing my motor patterns while bringing my muscle tissue to proper length I have been
able to maintain much of my jumping ability for DLRVJ. while squatting while ignoring my functional muscle problems i was able to grab rim with the tips of my finger. Now i am only a little below the rim, which i think is pretty good, seeing that i havent been squatting much.

so in short, get your body into proper function!
