Went and played full court ball for 2 hours, fully expected to be slightly sore after yesterdays lifting but I wasn't, in fact, I felt very bouncy. Sure enough, halfway through the second game I cross a guy at the top of the key and the help side was a little late. I said screw it if they wanna block me im damn well going for the dunk! Boom. Two hander on dude. Felt freaking amazing!!! Everyone left with about 15 mins left so I did a mini jump session since I felt good. Got some vid I'll upload later after editing it down but for now....quick screen capture from it!

Best part: I weighed myself right before I left the house to play, 181.5lbs! So cant wait to be solidly in the 170s!

9am Monday Aug 25 2014

BW: 182.8lbs
Down on energy a little, early for me lol!

-10 min on stationary+dynamic warmup+jumps

-squats!
(Warmup) b135x5, b225x3, b315x1, b365x1 (parallel, grrr).
(Worksets) b315x5, b315x5, b315x4, b225x8. Moved to 315s, bit of a struggle, didnt even attempt rep 5 on set 3. Something to work on!

-hypers
45lbs: x10, x10, x10

-paused calf raise on leg press
550lbs: x12, x12, x12. Last set was hard. ROM may not have been full from reps 9-12. :/

-step ups
120lbs: 3 sets of 10 per leg.

Added light weight back to my core routine, felt good! Nice session!

Yea, that's my plan basically. Its hard when all the local gyms close at 9, almost impossible if I have anything I need to do after work. Im a night owl anyway, starting at 10-11 is perfect!

Yep...that's why he's called stretch. However, he's still listed at 6'8". Look at his head compared to the rim again...long arms or not he's got some hops. I'd say 40+. That plus his reach should be dumb if he's coordinated.

Its not really 24/7 since school functions come first but its damn close! Hopefully my skills session stiff will improve dramatically with increased court time.

Damn. I'd love to see what that guy in the VBL vid could do with a ball (and warmed up!)!!!! They said Chris Staples and Kwame touched 12'2" and Purdie got 12'4" iirc. JRoth didn't jump which disappoints me but laawd have mercy that boy stretch has some bounce!!!

33 inch thighs checking in

24 inch thighs are actually really good considering your height and weight.

Holy shit. I need me some of those!  Lol

Ughhh. Hour and a half skills session at 2am. Got the keys to a local school gym so I can train pretty much whenever now!!! Kick ass. Anyways, low back and hams were sore but I pushed through it and had a good workout. Even managed a handful of dunks at the end completely wore out! Stretch and ice!

BW at 181-183lbs. Decent mental state, slightly tired (got to gym 1:30am lol)

-dynamic warmup/stationary bike+jumps (been spending 10-15 mins on the bike lately, trying to cut a little)

-deadlifts
(warmups) 135x5, 225x3, 295x1, 345x1. Forgot my belt, almost backed off the weight a little but said f it and went for it. Wasn't bad surprisingly, time to add weight!
(workset) 295x5, 295x5, 295x5, 225x8. Grip suffers on 295 sets by the 3rd/4th rep usually. :/

-paused seated calf raises
125lbs: x12, x12.

-ham curls
130lbs: x10, x10.

-BSS
120lbs: x8, x8 each leg.

Did some hurdle hops and BW core work as well, cut some volume out because it was so late (made me sad tho).

Bahahahahahahaaaaaa! I can't upvote that enough!

As soon as I can get back to a decent BW I'm going to. Probably all short based <100m but I'll toss some 2s or 4s in for conditioning later.  I was decent in the sprints in high school but I never could get out well, always caught guys 50-70m out. Probably why the 200 was my best event lol!

Any idea of volume wise to start with? Im thinking 1 or 2 days a week so I can still play ball/lift/jump etc and not kill myself lol

Yep definitely start out at 1 day. Interesting, I would think that most DL guys with big squats and good reactive ability would fly out the blocks. I reckon you probably would with a bit of training. How high were you jumping back in HS?

Oh, I'd bet I'm a billion times better now. I was a SL jumper until a knee injury junior year but I only weighed 155lbs when I graduated.  I jumped mid 30s (I could consistently get 36/37" RSLVJ) until my knee injury, when I came back off it I couldn't control my takeoff speed so I just naturally transitioned to a DL jumper. :/ Its one of the reasons I think if I get my weight down to a happy medium and train my SLVJ will take off.
