Mmmm...banana...

Workout tonight was frustrating because it's Friday, so my normal track was occupied by a football game. Had to run a bit farther to the track at Howard, which is fine except there's nothing to jump to. So my jumps were definitely submax and kind of hard to judge. On the bright side, new shoes felt awesome. So. Light. Weight.

warm up
jog x1 mile
1st set of core stretches
sprinter's warm ups

work
SS x3
--sprint 20y x3
--various jumps x10-15

cool down
jog x1 mile
stretch

Sprints were okay. A couple felt excellent, a couple not. Right calf starting getting wonky at the start of the fourth set so I called it a night

SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FORGOT TO MENTION, i was bored during last night's walk so, i thought, hm lemme try and hold my breathe, ill count how many walking strides i can take while holding my breathe.. first set got like 40, by like the 20th set i hit 70 strides holding breathe.. was kind of fun.. every time after holding my breathe for so long, i felt blood rush into my legs and i felt real light for a short period of time.

was pretty cool

New level-7 idea: Hold breath while doing max RVJs, until you start to black out. Then breathe. Body freaks out. Dunks galore.

That's a pretty nice dunk.

I haven't even thought about Michigan vs. OSU football this year because each week brings so much anxiety on its own. I can't handle the anticipation. But this is the basketball subforum, and in basketball, my loves go something like this:

1. Duke
2. Wizards
3. Michigan

Duke = National Champs

Wiz got John Wall

Kyrie Irving is playing for Duke this year

And now, Austin Rivers is playing for Duke next year.

Praise Jeebus.

Oh that makes sense. I'll try to add a few sets of pull-ups then after my push press, even if this is an exercise that I don't really like    :-\ One thing, when I do the full squat (atg) is it bad if my legs are a bit wider than my shoulders? Also, what amount of sets/reps is ideal for the full squat? like 5x5 or 5x8? ty

Take some video of squatting and post if you can; hard to picture an ATG squat with feet that wide. In terms of sets/reps, the setup depends on your goals, and even then there's nothing that's "ideal." If you're trying to groove technique and get stronger, you could do a lot worse than 5x5. The stronglifts template is as good a place to start as any: http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/.

Welcome, dude. First, some others in here and I disagree on this, but if you can learn to do below-parallel squats safely now, it'll help you a lot later on. Second, with respect to your upper body, you need a pull to balance out the press. This is a good principle to go by: If you push something with your arms, you must pull something with your arms. Push presses are a great exercise for your chest and part of your shoulders, but you need something for your back. Classic way to do this would be chin ups or pull ups. Bent over rows or seated rows are another alternative.

Sick. The give-and-go at about 0:40 is nice. Kid needs a damn sandwich, though.

EDIT: He committed to fucking BAYLOR!??!?!!? He's the number 2 recruit on Rivals! WTF?
