Forgot to log my sunday's speed session.

Date: 15/07/2018
Soreness: quads after the runs
BW: 10st 0lbs

Condition: Hot again and very little to none wind. Had 1hr 15min session so had to reduce my 50m sprints. But one thing that believe in is in sprinting, the fine tuning comes from specific quality work in the explosive/acceleration work and the maintenance from the speed/endurance work.

Warm up - Gym
    mobility warm up drills
    stretches
    leg swings
    hip holds

Warm up - Track
    A walk, a skip, a run x 2 x 20m
    alternating high knee drills
    fast high knee drills

Workout
    Sprint Starts 10m x 2
    Push Up sprint starts 10m x 2
    90% effort 50m sprints x 3

Cool down
    stretch
    walk back

Comment
It was a good session, runs felt good especially when I keep my head low I am able to accelerate longer up to 30m+ and am able to keep a smooth transition from start to acceleration. Deep quad pains 3/10 after runs. I then went to into gym for cool down and experiment with some stuff.

I didn't mean fight him on the ground, but if you can bring him to the ground and you are standing and you can do what you want as you are at an advantage.

Pacquiao vs Lucas matthysse, what a great fight.
Spoiler below
pacquiao not careless but still carries his power and combo.

Lucas would start to be cautious of trading as pacquiao seems to always catch him and then pacquiao's famous left uppercut was the key to his victory and now his late but better than never victor by stoppage. great fight.

Man o man france pulling it up a notch and croatia are starting to fade.

France is going to take the cup home. croatia should be happy as runner ups. second place.

France responding to croatia's aggressive play with their own aggressive play. just an awesome match even though i want croatia to win but france are playing very well.

isn't a body slam the move they do on wrestling where the guy is lying on the ground and he jumps off the ropes and directs his belly/chest on the opponent guys chest.

my inexperienced 2 cents regarding bringing a guy down to the ground would be to have your hands up ready to deflect his attacks and to grab either his arms, head whatever it takes to control him and bring him to the ground.

Wimbledon has reached semi finals and yesterday semi final between anderson and isrin or something like that. was an epic match. back and forth.

Longest match in history ever breaks the longest match record to 6hrs 35mins, both have 2 game points last round went to 26 - 24 to anderson. one point anderson fell down and got up and continued the rally with a left hand response and won that rally.
his serve has 80% ace rate.

just epic and nadal and djokovic had to wait lol.

i watched the live update stats of Anderson/Isner, was incredible.. just watching the stats was exciting. HAH.

damn really wanted Nadal.

Djokovic vs Anderson should be decent, both guys have to be tired tmw. I'd pick Djokovic for sure, but even he's playing 3 days in a row now because of how they cut off the match last night.

All I know tho is...

SERENA!!@$)(!@$)(!@)

I also think djokovic might win, but anderson's serve is unreal.

dier almost scored but defender kicked it away. Belgium score 2-0. Just humiliating for England.

This is exposing England's real ability.

Also a side note, the people in the final are the only ones to defeat argentina no one else has defeated argentina.

Kamworor just posted this, seems slightly relevant hah.

lol. That's like a mix between zumba and dumbbell arm swing movement.

Soreness: quads deep tissue pain pulls on my knee.
BW: 10st 01lbs

Condition: Hot day, ladies session at 1:15pm so I had to leave. Started at 11:20am and had to finish.

Warm up
    walk 5 min
same mobility and overall lower body stretch and activation drills

Workout
    Jump Squats
      - 3 x 5 @30kg

    Squats /w pause at parallel
      - 1 x 5 @50kg

Reverse Lunges (step back and descend and then step forward and ascend)
      - 1 x 5 each leg @bw
      - 1 x 4 each leg @20kg dumbbells in each hand
      - 3 x 7 each leg @40kg dumbbells in each hand

    Single leg romanian deadlift
      - 1 x 5 @bw
      - 1 x 4 @12.5kg dumbbells in each hand
      - 3 x 7 each leg @25kg dumbbells

    Shoulder workout
      - dumbbell squeeze and lift diagonally up w/ 12.5kg dumbbell 2 x 20
      - dumbbell back rows (pulling trousers up action) 2 x 10 @12.5kg
      - dumbbell shoulder press in front 6kg 2 x 10
: accidentally picked up 6kg and 9kg dumbbells as they were placed in the same rack so mistook it, then realized the size after so switched hands and 9kg in other hand and 6kg in other and did 10 reps again.

    Back extension 45 degrees
      - 1 x 20
: Wasn't allowed to do second set as it was 1:15pm and gym had to be cleared to allow woman session.

Cool down
walk back in pain in quads deep inside
    quad stretch

Comment
It was hot inside the gym, the jump squats were fine although there were moments of when jumping up I would start jump to the side. the single leg romanian deadlift were difficult for some reason, not the weight but the form and the balance always standing up with legs crossed due to balance issue. Reverse lunges was done comfortably and some times balance issues but after last set deep quad pains. Did some nice shoulder workout to target all the delt heads.
But only did 1 back extension of 20 which kills my hamstring and glutes.

why doing the arm swings with DBs? speed comes from the arm, per your signature quote. why slow them down?

My logic behind db arm swings is to add resistance to my arm swings so that when I do run my arm swings would be faster, so the speed comes from the movement of the arm as well as another role arm plays. When we run our arms come up naturally to our chin level or near that area without effort but when it swings down we want to put effort into the downward swing of it and as arms and legs are in synchronization the leg striking the ground would also be quick and then paw the ground back.

so the dumbbell is just to add resistance to my arm swings so that when resistance is removed the arm swings should be faster and more powerful.

also I used light dumbbells around 6kg any weight where the movement flow is not slowed down that technique breaks down.
my 2 cents reasoning.

i personally never liked db swings, i preferred plate swings. definitely helped with my shoulder power during jump/dunk life.

no idea if what you're doing helps or not, i imagine it can. i also imagine it's used by lots of sprinters, just seems logical to do, and seems like something random beast sprinters would conceive on their own hah.

I also do it sitting down with legs in front so as to take away any support from the legs.

england got outplayed and deserved to lose. they just didn't seem to have the skill to keep the ball up high, passing the ball to pickford so much that it got ridiculous. when they did get the ball toward the box they just couldn't seem to make any kind of meaningful connections. bad movement or something, i don't know. it wasn't very fun to watch.

i was watching in the british high commission bar with a bunch of english diplomats, a few pakistanis, and few scots and welsh who were quietly rooting for england to lose. place got real quiet as the second half and extra time wore on.

They were better than the previous england squad, but I don't see much dynamic play from England or dynamic passing. They need to build that relation with each other so they can understand when their team runs what they are asking like a 1-2 pass or quick passes to move the ball forward. They got this far because they got the better end of the deal facing sweden and columbia and if they had faced brazil they would have lost.

Their hopes were raised when they got far facing lower quality opponents but once you reach towards the end, competition increases so their chances becomes low.

England becomes lazy when they keep on passing the ball back to the goal keeper and the opponent comes close and they almost conceded another goal but it hit the post.

It's like watching amir khan fight a top power puncher people are hoping he wins but in the back of their mind there is a chance of being knocked out.

So people they watch england play and hope they get through, once they scored that goal in the 5th minute, everybody is hoping the clock runs down quick before other scores because that is innevitable, so england changed to defending until when croatia scored they couldn't change their game plan, while croatia decided keep on the aggressive.

ENG/BEL going to be good also.. playing for 3rd should matter. I'll root for ENG on that one :D

Lol, thanks. The more support the better. But it's like a match for the bronze medal.

It will be England vs Belgium, so this match is a rematch to show if England can beat belgium. And also England get to play again. It's like a mini final.
