stubbed my right big toe so badly last night that the nail bed filled with blood and started leaking. went to the podiatrist today, she removed the nail to make sure there wasn't a serious cut under there that could have gotten infected. turns out no cut, the blood was coming from the base of the nail. still, pretty freaking gross. so yeah, no running yesterday or today. she did say i could go back to it tomorrow but let's see how the toe feels.

right now it just feels like it isn't there, because of the novocaine.

damn that fu*king sucks!!!!!!! hope it grows back ok dang.

surprised that she said u could run so soon. nuts.

- run 41:02, 8.14 km
beautiful evening. just my second run this week.

- stretch

:o

ive lost toenails before but not the big toe. had one of those ingrown toenails b4 in my big toe, man that sucked so bad.

i once got my big toe stamped on with a football boot stud and lost the nail, but because the nail bed was traumatised it grew back a complete mess and will for the rest of my life now. basically super thick and strange looking, kinda like a snail on my toe and impossible to manage by myself so have to see the podiatrist to get it trimmed. only other option is to get it permanently removed! super annoying. damn toenails

What if you remove the current nail, wouldn't a more straighter normal grow in its place.

I cut my little finger on the door and the nail has grown around the stump so I have a curved nail going over my finger.

apparently not because they'd actually have to remove the nail bed itself where the nail originates from. so it's either snail toenail or no toenail. resigned to socks in bed with ladies for the rest or my life.

Sorry to hijack your log with this LBSS haha. toenail woes unite.

went on holiday (for the first time since covid began!!!) fell off the boat a little with logging. spent a few nights at a lovely little cabin in the Scottish Highlands, got one run in whilst i was there and some hiking but mostly quality time with gf. Still on 1hr/day meditation streak - closing in on 100 days now.

yesterday
Meditation 45m +15m
Cycle commute
run 6.5km 4.09m/km pace - listened to an upbeat album and it was dark and raining, felt fantastic and not far off a 5k pb lol.

have an infected gum next to my wisdom tooth that is driving me nuts (pain) and making me feel a little systemically off with some malaise. not fun.

Yoga ~45m
Meditation 1hr30m
Couch 2 5k wk 2 with GF (about 8km walk with a bit of jogging)

Gym
Ng chins 2 x 12, 8
Db bp 30kg x 8, 26kg x 12
Ohp 16kg 2 x 10-12
Db row 30kg 2 x 10-12
Curls 14kg 1 x 12
Tri pdown 19kg x 12

Running club - had fun, nice group mostly older guys from what i could gather. They put me in the slower group based on a 5k > 19m but i was probably the quickest in that group. Cinder track felt nice too! First time running in kinvaras in a long time too, felt super quick. App my stride is ridiculous (thanks years of bball/power training haha). They meet Tues and Thurs for speed stuff so def will try make it down once a week. Track is only about a mile from my flat too.

Session was

325m x 8 w/ 2m jog recovery
There and back totalled 10.5k mileage for the evening.

Busy day! Definitely need to be eating more with these activity levels. Currently having wisdom tooth issues though which doesn't help.

Good luck with IF, ive done 16/8 or similar for years now and gound it beneficial from a fat loss and keeping fat off point of view. I find my focus is better whilst fasted and do nearly all my runs fasted. Also think it's great to get up and get on with my day rather than worrying about getting my 'most important meal of the day' in. Plus if im ever in a situation where i can't eat its way easier to cope with. Black coffee is a constant though and certainly helps with appetite suppression.

i got a gun a few weeks ago,  i've tried it all over the years, TENS, foam rolling, spiky ball, etc. But the massage gun is the only thing that actually works if it's going to help, it does. Had super tight lats/erectors/hamstrings on the weekend and i used it in the morning and by the afternoon i felt 'fixed'.  Mine isn't teragun either, was on special on amazon, usually goes for $150 and i picked it up or around $105 ish.

Glad to hear its not just me, the thing really is magic. Mine was omly £55.
