As I already mentioned in my previous post, but to clarify as a response to the long response by acole is that if there is no doubt that serena had been receiving coaching instructions, then fair enough she should deal with the consequence of such an action. But in this case the umpire cannot say that it was a clear violation and that serena was receiving coaching instructions, but it is not clear, you don't see a clear cut violation from serena receiving instructions from her coach and it is not 100% clear that the communication between them was coaching instructions, even if it was, let's say, instructions in the form of a sign language, the umpire is not aware of this and so cannot declare a violation based on gut feeling rather it should be based on facts, clear cut violation. so what he should have done was give warning to serena and her coach as well as a clarification to the opposing player and her coach as not to communicate with their coaches in any way and if there are any further communication between player and coach in whatever form then they will be penalised for violating that rule (don't know what the name of the rule is, coaching violation?) so that they know in advanced what not to do and cannot argue if it happens again.

But when you have certain people, and I have seen this with umpires is that they do not handle criticism very well especially when it comes from players they are over seeing and therefore get offended when they are told you are wrong, then instead of thinking maybe I was harsh, they would go into the 'I am right and you are wrong and nothing you can say will change that' mentality and when race is involved it just makes the situation all the more worse because of supposed superiority of the umpire over the player like LBSS posted.

So, first should be warning if the violation is not 100% clear so as to provide a support to any future arguments of any further doubtful similar situations.

Soreness: not much quads a little
BW: no scale available

Condition: It was a speed session but unfortunately the track was booked so I did plyo session until the end when the people using the track were packing up I managed to get 3 runs in on the track discretely from the attention of the track staff.

Warm up
   ankle mobility
   calf dynamic drill
   leg swings hamstring stretch
   walking quad stretch
   hip thrusts on bench
   hip holds at 20kg x 20 sec
   back mobility stretch

Workout - Gym
   Ankle hops ME 3 x 10

   Tuck Jumps 3 x 8

   Seated to 35" Box Jumps 3 x 8

   Depth Jumps off 24" box on to 40" box 3 x 8-10

I got creative but probably not a good idea
I attached belt to cable at 50kg and just practice the first step sprint start trying to get the knee up 2 x 5 @3 steps

decline sit ups 2 x 10 holding 20kg plate - i have weak abs as bottom position causes back pain from the hip flexor pulling on the spine

Workout - Track
   50m sprints x 3 - I managed to get 3 runs in

Cool down
   stretch
   walk down

Comment
The run didn't feel good or bad just wanted to get a run in as I didn't get to run last week. I was tired from the plyo's so runs didn't feel that good start was ok on first run before form was a little shaky. Good session to get a run in.

Lol when I read solid fight I was thinking it was mcgregor vs khabib fight then I see porter, then I knew you accidentally posted in the wrong section lol.

sad that it had to end like that.. what a mess :/

to me, the 2nd/3rd violations were justified.. but, it's all based on that first violation (coaching instructions), which was absolute bullshit.

first, the chair should have simply warned both sides (& perhaps coaches as well). To give Serena a violation like that at such a critical time, without warning, is absolute garbage. That caused Serena to "lose it". ie, "here we go again".

very unfortunate, especially for Osaka.. she played incredible. She looked really distraught over how it turned out :/

never saw anything like that in tennis.. other than maybe serena being ejected after the "threat".. but this was pretty unique, especially because of the fan/crowd reactions.

was painful to watch.

It was painful to watch. I agree the chair should have gave a warning like it is used to doing, I believe her if she says she didn't receive coaching instructions. I think this may have been the reason to cause her to act out of character and throwing the racket.

Also the warning should help if there is any ambiguity in any violation such as advising no communication be made so as to avoid any future doubtful violations.

OMG WHAT a fu**ing amazing fight. Any close rounds which I doubted I gave to danny garcia and I had it 7 rounds to 5 shawn porter. Garcia during the middle rounds didn't really know how to handle the pressure shawn was coming with and would wait and pick his shots, some very good left counter hooks but shawn porter just going in to the body and some interesting counter punches. First few rounds I saw shawn won the majority danny waiting and picking his shots, porter did miss a lot of shots to when swinging but he putting the pressure to garcia, who just freezes. In the middle round it was going both ways, garcia starting to put the pressure but when he gets hit he starts to back off the pedal a bit and counter. I think he gave those rounds away and the last round I gave to garcia and round 11 to shawn porter.

I don't like when shawn goes messy but in this fight I liked it because it wasn't too messy a lot of targeted aggression just chasing him with some mess in there. Shawn got tired a little  but he knew that if he put on the pressure he was going to win. some carelessness from porter with wild hits especially when he hits comes low and his head unguarded and giving garcia opportunity, there was one time where it was open a lot that garcia targetted it late and porter leaned back.

great fight of the year candidate.

Highlights of kovalev vs alvarez, I'm sure you saw the garcia vs porter fight.

khan vs samuel vargas

Disappointed that khan got chin checked again, the glass jaw, he still has not learned his lesson from the previous knockouts. But still won a fight by UD. samuel vargas was not really that good but he is a brawler who can take a lot of shots to the face. like a proper mexican brawler. But lacked the boxing skills and defence.

damn! can't learn chin.

garcia/porter should be good!

tbh i'd like garcia to win. don't enjoy watching porter, he makes fights so messy/mauling/holding style.

garcia has some solid power, hope he catches porter :D

Definitely agree with you there. porter is definitely a messy fighter and he brawls and hopes on his messy style to bring him out on top. If garcia can be composed and smart and just pick his shots he can get porter out of there, but you have to becareful of headbutts with porter's style. like his fight with brook, bone (or something like that don't remember the name) but he never wins convincingly he gets into a brawl and hopes to come out on top.

hope garcia wins.

did you watch the kovalev vs alvarez fight?  :ninja:

It was a good session, I reduced the amount of rest time but still just had enough time to do calf raises only. the calf raises I do is holding the squat rank posts with arm over the bar but it starts to roll backwards and presses against my wrist and on last set it rolled too back I had to quickly unrack before it fell behind and this causes and purple mark on my wrist but it's starting to reduce I will have to change it up a bit. my fingers starts to tingle as well.

      - 1 x 8 @30kg very easy obv

Cool down

Comment
It was a good day, last weeks sweat and struggle of the reverse lunges has helped today as it was very comfortable, more balance, I decided to do some self psychological manipulation, instead of doing set per leg resting between legs, I decided to do all 3 sets on the weak leg first as that is the biggest struggle with rest between and coast the left front leg for 3 sets, helps me get the work done quicker. The jump squats were comfortable a little rusty with form not bad form just more effort required to maintain form but the second and third set it was comfortable. 30kg single leg hyperextension was tough but not a struggle as I use a bench at incline and then strap on cable to my feet. Bench press easy. Also calf raises on edge of plate and I hold on to the bar as support and causes tingly feeling on my left hand fingers but other than that it was all good.

Just finished it at the time woman's session was about to start, the reverse lunges when I do my first set is a bit shaky because balance is still an issue slightly, if that when I came up from my first rep I got up towards the side and the dumbbell was just dragging me to the side until I stabilized but other sets were fine.
Jump squats are comfortable. the reverse hyper-extension feels good to. calf raises on edge of thick plate so my heel is hanging off the edge and I am holding the support bars to keep me balanced, it wasn't bad just need to get adjusted to it.

It was a good session not including the beginning where I feel a bit sick and also because of the hayfever making it hard to breath though my nose so I only breath through my mouth is not helping. reverse lunges is difficult because of the concentration to not think of the weight which puts me off but if I focus I can do it but the weight doesn't feel heavy to pick up any more now it's just concentrating. also decided to go with reverse hypers as back extension I use the bench press bench, which gets used often, so this is better. calf raises were easy. will need to make it more challenging.

It was a good session, the reverse lunges was ok and the back extension seems to be more harder then a normal hyperextension when you are lying flat as with the back extension there is more angle (rom) to cover when at 45 degree (100 degrees).  so doing 7 reps was tough especially the last rep difficult to get to top of movement.
