no idea if this is a "thing" ... but, whenever the bottom of my feet get jacked up (plantar fasciae sore etc), I have this nagging thought to "walk on rocks". It actually seems to help. It can get quite painful if I hit the "right combo of rocks", digging in to various spots within the sole of my foot. Some of the positions feel really good, some feel painful & then good, etc.. It's almost like some kind of deep tissue work. The different rock positions also stretch my toes/forefoot in different ways too.

I have pebbles in the back yard, to fill in certain spots. So I can just walk around (slowly) for 10 minutes or so, pausing in certain spots.

dno. feels good.

hehe.

Adarq, people that are really bulky it is harder for them to handle the bball low to the ground correct? Compared to say someone like Dennis Schroder who is skinny and therefore not as much muscle get in the way when he is splitting the defense?

derek fisher was kinda bulky. nate is kinda bulky. if you bulk up, just need to keep dribbling so you don't lose any coordination.

muscle doesn't "get in the way" .. if you increase the size of a muscle and don't train skill, skill will suffer. usually the act of putting on more muscle comes to the detriment of skill training itself - ie, bodybuilders just want to lift, they don't want to dribble a basketball for 2 hours a day. Find me a basketball player who loves dribbling, but also wants to get huge, and you'll probably find a bulked up dude who can dribble just fine.

skill skill skill.

Nutrition & Supplementation / Re: DOPE recipes!
« on: August 15, 2017, 03:52:29 pm »
a recipe that includes physical exertion as the most important component:

1. exert yourself (particularly in the heat) for a considerable amount of time
2. lose a significant amount of water weight
3. pull a bunch of grapefruits out of the fridge (better if cold)
4. cut them in half
5. squeeze the juice onto a spoon, slurp it down, then dig into the grape fruit & grab the pulp & some more juice
6. repeat while in utopia.

recipe will probably also work well with coconuts, watermelon, oranges, etc.

apparently, heaven is being dehydrated from prolonged exertion in the heat, then gorging on tons of fruit, particularly grape fruit.

after 2.5 hours of walking in ~92 F, came in and destroyed 5 grape fruits.. was just amazing. didn't want it to end.

at the end of all this, the real story will be how bad Paulie Malignaggi ruined himself.

http://www.mmaweekly.com/dana-white-felt-sorry-for-paulie-malignaggi-after-12-rounds-with-conor-mcgregor

he acts like he punked Dana, then Dana actually punks him.

Paulie, if you're reading this thread, please stfu and disengage from Conor vs Floyd.

ODB. :motherofgod:

Because I don't follow the sport enough: Does ODB have the best one-handed catch in NFL history?

yes.

x2

and every year since, someone will do something insanely impressive & people will attempt to compare it to ODB's catch, but it's never on that level.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxbz3DDQzHU

the main announcer freaking out (Cris Colinsworth) is a former NFL wide receiver like Beckham. :ninja:

The delayed reaction was basically my reaction .. seeing the initial catch felt like a life glitch - what just happened? how'd that happen? then you see the various slow motion angles and it was jaw dropping.

:D

There's been some other ridiculous catches, especially in the super bowl. But the "impossibility" of that catch is just incredible IMHO.

bw = 162
-- wtf? look bloated though
soreness = right hamstring alot
aches = right hip somehow - from some light standing bent over hamstring stretches

running jump rope:
- 5.35 mi in 1h:32m:?s
- 14 x 400's with 1-2 minute walking recovery
- a bunch of 400m running jump rope repeats
- max hr: 171, avg: 136
- tons of messups .. a little harder on a track because of the turns, seems to screw you up a bit more
- regardless, way too many mistakes
- did 400m intervals to make sure my shoulders didn't get destroyed
- i can feel my shoulders & calves right now, they are wrecked .. but not that weird overuse feeling i had when doing ~3 miles in a row of running jump rope

after session:
- bottom of left foot tight

get my middle distance spikes tomorrow!!!!

Well, I don't advise trying to finish a thesis and have a child at the same time haha. Not good for the general order of life. But all really positive so far, no issues and it's great fun having your own child. Plus, the thesis is in and I finally have time to organise my training thoughts.

damn!! :wowthatwasnutswtf: :headbang:

i'd annoy the hell out of both of you with my pin squats & when I used to crash the bar to the floor during deadlifts.

I eventually put towels on my pins though for pin squats, so to make it less bouncy if I did hit them & so that it would make less noise.

:D

how'd that jog to/from go? relaxed + felt good?
