morning:

- warm up

- jump rope continuously x 10 mins

went to bed early last night and got up early this morning. meant to do more but (1) i'm not coordinated enough in the morning to do double unders, apparently; (2) got a work call while i was warming up that cut into the time i had.

i like morning work outs, even if it's just a warm up like this. moar.

i was actually planning on doing some jump rope tomorrow evening, motivation.



Yeah morning workouts are weird. I remember waking up, showering and immediately going for a 30 min jog and just feeling like I was dying despite pretty easy pace.

I've experienced the same thing. Even if i'm actually running good, it feels horrible compared to at night.

dno not sure about that, but watermelon (sugar+water) an hour or so before an important session seems to really help me in the morning. Last year when I was doing all of those races, I was waking up consistently early, 99% of the time I felt like crap. Races would get me amp'd up more and i'd feel better for those, generally. Morning w/o's are definitely rough for me.

i've been trying to wakeup at 7 AM for like 3 weeks now.............. complete failure.

Breathing ladder (i.e. only breath through nose, break between sets is time it takes to make equal number of nose breaths to the reps done]

Kettlebell swing @ 16kg for 1-20-1 - 39:30

Benchmark set. Will get better control of breathing + also need kinda stronger p-chain, or p-chain endurance, for this. 400 total reps.

so if you did one rep, you do one "big" breathe through your nose & exhale through nose, then go on to two reps, .. until 20, and back down?

sounds intense.

So this season's training moto will be.... "quantity over quality" !!!  :o :o :o
Now as you all know this is an obvious lie from my side. There is no way i would compromise quality. What i really mean is that it is consistency i need to hit. I can AREG volume, intensity frequency etc without even writing them down. It is not the programming that holds me back, it is the consistency. I want to try and work out every single day i can. Not all weights, i want to substitute my off days with cardio/abs/stretching sessions.  Also, most important, minimize the losses when work&life attacks. Try to save whatever i can. I am at a very good place now, somewhat strong, somewhat lean, definitely fresh. A great base to build on. If this works as planned i could achieve good things. No promises, but that's the plan.

awesome post, especially the part about minimizing losses when work/life attacks, that's always been the hardest thing for me. looking forward to more workouts :D I love doing something every day, even if it's just walking. Though, I don't like being "addicted". So having to workout HARD every day is something I definitely don't enjoy anymore - light days feel great. When I was lifting for dunking, I loved doing something every day too, even if it was just plate swings/bodyweight, walking, light sprints, or one work up set of squats.

Really, if you are at 13.9% BF I must be around 55% BF.... in my videos/pics one can't even see my neck, it is surrounded by fat, my chin and jaws don't even exist.

ya i'm definitely around 12.x-13.x% .. you're probably like 25% or so?

i definitely have ~10 lb of fat to drop, that's for sure.. probably a little more. I'm a light mfqr.

40Y sprints x10 (full recovery: technique work)
40Y sprints x5,5,6 (jog back recovery, 90-95% intensity - actually not that tired despite pretty intense runs, might cut rest intervals and make this a more frequent thing)

nice @ those 40's with jog back recovery! did they fall off much? or didn't time them?

imho, with something like that, go hard but also stay relaxed .. really focusing on not tightening up. sounds like you were probably doing that.

Honestly it felt like they didn't fall off at all. T0ddday advice a while ago was to not time them so as not to interfere with mechanics.

"Stay relaxed".. That's a good cue, not sure if I tighten up when I run, I'll try to be on the lookout for that next time. I definitely try to micromanage my strides when I go into more upright/top speed form, because if I don't I tend to drag my feet and not cycle efficiently.

ya i love t0ddday's advice on that. there's such a huge mental side to things, just seeing your times dropping or just having one bad time out of nowhere and you can tighten up/become way more fatigued.

as for me, if only i could stop using my lap key on my watch. I'm becoming more relaxed using my watch now though, finally getting used to looking at the pace and not having it effect me as much mentally.

A real mega fight is brewing… For boxing fans, this is a serious & long anticipated fight. Golovkin has the size & power advantage, and serious boxing skill. Canelo has serious power, but far more experience & IMHO more boxing skill than GGG. Both fighters have incredible heart & legit chins. Can’t wait. For MMA fans who aren’t huge boxing fans, this is probably a fight you’ll want to watch. It’s going to be a war fought at pretty much the highest level of boxing skill.

soreness = adductors alot, hamstrings moderate

aches/injuries = right big toe blister
- popped a portion of it using a fire'd up pin .. went right through and drained some of it .. bleh!


crap. I think i'm still going to hit the track tonight, but man I want to avoid running with soreness. I'll do it this time and try to avoid 50 minutes of stepups until after the race on 9/9. Maybe i'll do like 15 minutes of stepups instead.

kinda nuts how sore I got from that session, but didn't get too sore at all from the first time I did them.

kinda tired today too.. tonight's track session not looking too great, but we'll see. it'll probably be ok. Plus it might be raining tonight.

- annoyed. the whole point of 12 x 400m tonight, was to make it to the 10 x 200m and really push the 200's HARD. right calf started tightening up around 400 #8, but it was really tight after #12 and had to stop after the second 200. lame.

Thing is, I don't mind if Floyd carried him .. as long as Floyd ended it. If it went to a decision, that would have been a disgrace.. So Floyd definitely carried him but with the intent of stopping him from 6 onward. Totally cool with that.

One thing I disagree about, is Conor having completely horrendous punching. He had some nice jabs in there, some solid counters, and a beautiful left uppercut counter. So that's pure b.s. that everything was horrendous.

I saw a few minutes of atlas/smith, absolute garbage. I like Atlas, but he gets carried away with bullshit & can be blinded by his own narrative. Smith is an absolute disgrace as a boxing analyst, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a boxing ring to give analysis. Smith is completely clueless and doesn't know shit about boxing. The combo of atlas/smith is toxic.

I will watch it again and look at it round by round. Mcregor may not have been knocked out in his previous matches even though wobbled but if you are gassed out then the odds have increased by nearly double.

Note: watching while I am typing here. Anthem has finished. Connor mcgregor team outfit, looking like old day gangsters lol.

ref seems to be only looking at mcregor when giving instructions.

ya that was weird, but, as the fight played out, it made perfect sense. Conor was doing tons of dirty shit.. i'm personally glad the ref let him do it though. If the ref had protected mayweather too much, we'd have people whining non stop about the fight.

fwiw, floyd did some good slick dirty shit to him in the middle rounds, as payback basically.. lots of forearm to the throat/face lmfao.

love when the ref pushed mayweather.. jajaja

Comments: It was a good fight, I enjoyed seeing mayweather put the pressure, mcgregor showed good boxing skills but not enough endurance to withstand it and lacks boxing smarts.

Post fight interview:
mcregor just crazy thinking to allow the ref to let him continue until he drops. he says it was just fatigue lol this is boxing my friend then he says that he is always like this fatigued and 'flowy' lol. This was the biggest cons against mcgregor's chances of winning was he hasn't done 12 hard rounds with 1 min rest. good gameplan from from mayweather to let mcgregor try and tire himself then mcgregor goes in the for the attack. I would have loved to see this type of offence with pacquiao but that would be mayweather's funeral. lol at jim gray's question: did he look tired to you.

I wonder what mayweather was looking at above.

Undercards: gervonta davis was better than expect as in his last fight he was just a lot nervous and didn't fight that good but now he was powerful even though the last knockout winning punch was to the back of the head. but I would like to see him in a tough fight.

But good fight, good attempt from mcgregor but his inexperience was the downside.  But atleast he chose a good way to end his career making it exciting even though it was against an unexperience fighter, but better than berto, even though berto better than mcgregor that fight was boring. Def not returning to boxing, he would not last against any boxer.

Conor trying to challenge the stoppage after the fight is just good politics. Look how many people believed him that he would be able to recover etc. He was completely done at that point. Wish the ref had let it go on and let Floyd knock him unconscious.. Shouldn't have saved him. He didn't look like he was quitting either, he was just wrecked but trying to hang out, so he'd have hung in there until Floyd turned his lights out.

I had to go out of town on friday, but came back yesterday night. But out of town, I already found out the result without watching the video, it was the blab of the town and people blabbing, but meh I knew this was going to happen so didn't really feel bad about the spoiler.

Ok, so the fight, which I watched later and I will be honest.

As we all expected, connor was never going to be good in boxing in his fight and that's exactly what happened. First few rounds mayweather was just not really putting any pressure on connor, and could tell connor was relying on his counter punch and awkwardness to get advantage, but connor had a poor jab, punches were weak, but when floyd would come in conor would come and hit floyd, ie. that uppercut lol. But wtf is with that hammering fist style, so many to the back of the head just annoys me on how unprepared he was and yet he is in the ring with floyd. Floyd did get caught sometimes because he would try and get in, but mayweather was being smart and just hitting few times while mcgregor did his thing.

One thing about conor was I could see he was uncomfortable and he didn't have a jab at all, what he did was try use his hands to keep him back and look for opening to hit, but even though the openings were there he didn't capitalize due to lack of experience so alot of the time he was unsure when to attack and mayweather would hit him right on the face and the body shot floyd through just looked powerful you could tell by connors reaction.

Later on the rounds mcgregor hands being tired and being sluggish and mayweather just started to turn it up and just when he saw connor breathing hard you can tell ok now lets go finish him and that's what floyd.

so my anger is on floyd that he feels satisfied with this win even though given the opponent's experience in boxing and doesn't deserve 50-0.

fwiw, floyd ducked all of the 50-0 questions. I don't think he's satisfied with it at all .. I believe he thinks it was just some entertainment and a fun event for "the fans".

I didn't hear him brag about 50-0, not once. In the clips I saw, he dodged all of that.

Connor wanted the ref to let floyd drop him lol, shows how different ufc is to boxing. I don't really respect connor more than before the fight, except for being able to land those shots, even though he looked terrible, but nvm.

and the ufc analyst during the tours was having too much high hopes in mcgregor and thought he had a chance lol. no chance.

I just can't believe so many people bought in to the Conor hype.. Let's imagine the opposite: Floyd going to fight Conor in the Octagon using MMA rules. If someone tried hyping Floyd at all i'd laugh so hard. I believe Floyd would have a legitimate chance if Conor just stood there and traded shots, but he'd never do that. He'd throw some leg kicks, take him down, and submit him in seconds. So, millions of people thinking they were going to see Floyd lying on the canvas bleeding, KO'd, hurt, etc, was just annoying to me. It's like reality doesn't exist anymore. lmfao.

Chilemo tries to hard to defeat mo. Once he showed in the start up line in london 2017 that he will defeat farah, I could tel he would go though any means to do it.

Did a lot of this kind of walking this sunmer on pebbly beaches. Sometimes its a really good kind of pain... i know what you mean. When theres a rock thats a perfecr size and in the perfect spot under your foot and you take a step and sink in slightly while it massages your plantar area... aw man its great.

hah nice! and ya exactly .. it's like "lock picking" or something... you're just walking on all kinds of weird configurations, then one fits and unlocks some beautiful relief.

welp. just signed up for a 5k on 9/9. no idea how i'm going to wakeup, but i'll get it done. Also going to be weird running 5k without doing any runs longer than 400-800m heh!!! I feel like i'm going to surprise myself though. But really, no idea. I'd like to get in 3 track sessions before the 5k. Also, I doubt i'll do any practice runs, I just don't enjoy running 5k.. but i'll gut it out for a race and see what happens. :ninja:
