cross-posted from my journal, here are some of my jumps from saturday. noticed that i'm still kind of leaning back on the approach, which is something that lance suggested i fix on my last video. when i try to lean forward it just feels really awkward. any other feedback?

sucks about your knee. it shows in the video, basically looks like a slow trot followed by what amounts to a DSVJ. no sense pushing against a knee injury, though.

BW = 178 PR
SORENESS = none
ACHES/INJURIES = right wrist (?)
FATIGUE = moderate

- warm up
tied all-time PR on DSVJ, 32.5

- DLRVJ x 6
peaked at 34, a recent PR, hit ~33 on most other jumps. yes. got high enough to dunk a dodgeball but failed to hold on.  :uhhhfacepalm:

- squat 315 x 5,5,5
YES MOTHERFUCKER YES

- ab pull down x 20

- OHP 95 x 10+3+3+3

- chin up x 10+3+3+3

- walk home

- stretch

ETA: can still see abs blurrily, more or less the same as they've been for a long while now. that's kind of surprising to me but maybe it shouldn't be. i've only gained like 5 pounds over my previous equilibrium point. weight is hard to compare with other measurements because i took it at a different time of day, different meal schedule, etc. still, that's the highest i've ever measured.

"ideal" is kind of hard to define with any exercise. so much depends on body mechanics. your "ideal" squat will look different from mine, even (especially?) if you rendered us each as stick figures, because we're such different shapes.

still, it'd be cool to have something like dartfish but combined with moving versions of the still images vag creates of his squat. watch the stick figure move up and down, and watch the bar path. i'd pay $4.99 for that.

And did this year help you? What was the point of this? (strength increase, strength maintenance while cutting down fat/bodyweight etc)



i did not improve on the weight on the bar.. in fact, i was already in the repeatable 425-435 with 440-445 peak paused reps last year. the progress i made was being withing the 400s while leaning out to a peak 166 dry weight, averaging 168-170, 172-174wet weight.

what is the point of high-volume snatch pulls? do you mean snatch grip dead lifts?
