BW = 172.8
SORENESS = none
ACHES/INJURIES = right toe
FATIGUE = low

- warm up

- DLRVJ x ~10
meh, 31-32, but at least it wasn't horrible. approaches started to feel okay, unlike the last couple of sessions. keep grinding.

- triple broad jump

- DL bound x 3,3
not as far as triple broad jump, although i'm sure that's because i'm pretty good at pulling my feet forward and stabilizing if i don't have to rebound.

- jump rope x a bit

- squat 305 x 5,5,5
 :personal-record:

- pull up +10 x 10+3+3+2
almost got last rep

- dip +50 x 10+3+3+3

- SS1: ab pull down x 15
- SS1: back extension +10 x 10
- SS1 info: 3 rounds, minimal rest between exercises except longer rest to fix the shit-tastic GHR my gym has.

- SS2: curls 25e x 10
- SS2: cable tricep pulldown x 90,110
- SS1 info: two rounds

- jump rope x a bit

- stretch

Thanks, Lance. Lots of power, but unfortunate misses. Do you know if he is committed to weightlifting now? I remember him doing some powerlifting and VJ training before.

lot of power is right. this video is a few months old and already posted somewhere else on the forum, but here he is squatting 15 singles of 500lbs at 170lbs bw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKmw4hGCbwA&feature=plcp.

Why do you want to do box squats? And why are you "cutting" going into an important tourney? Are you attempting to get worse?

shhhhh, steven-miller. shhhhh. just let him be. let him be. it's okay. shhhhh now.

first two reps looked pretty good, actually. you were starting to come forward but not badly. third rep obviously broke down a bit but even that wasn't so bad. just looked like the last rep of a heavy set. one thing that helps me when the weight is even a little bit challenging is to refocus for every rep. it looks like you're just gliding through the set. maybe instead try pausing at the top and reminding yourself of your cues before each eccentric.

for me it's something like, "heels...push floor apart...breathe in...hold...abs out...chest up...go."

last night:

BW = ???
SORENESS = none
ACHES/INJURIES = knees during jumping
FATIGUE = very high

- warm up

- DSVJ x ~8

- DLRVJ x ~5
just terrible on both counts. worst in a long time.

- SS1: jump rope x a while
- SS1: KB swing 20kg x 10
- SS1 info: 3 rounds, about 30s rest between exercises

- some more jump rope

- stretching

i got very little sleep on sunday night, due to work, and then monday was a pretty stressful day at work. by the time i got to the gym i was completely wiped out. was supposed to do a real workout but it just wasn't happening. on the plus side, i went to sleep early enough last night that i woke up before my alarm. hopefully that bodes well for today.

Volleyball / Re: Volleyball is the Olympics' most watched sport

NO FUCKING WAY is voleyball the most watched olympic sport!

Im bored to look too , ill just do a fast google search...

10 minutes later:

Bullshit , there is only one childish written blog that claims the beach-volleyball in 2008 had astronomical numbers, without references at all.
All the other researches show the expected: track and filed is the king by FAR , then swimming and then a bunch of popular sports, basketball , football, gymnastics, almost equal. Beach voleyball is beyond #20.

It's common sense actually, who the fuck is this bald motherfucker? If he had to watch one of his games,  a USA-Spain basketball final, a Lachte vs Phelps swimming final , or the 100m/200m finals , would he even watch himself?
NO! :D

aw, vag, i was trying to be gentle. anyway, yes. either the director of australian volleyball is deluded or harvey misheard. the bald guy is one of the best beach volleyball players ever, fwiw. he and his partner are defending olympic champs. watched them whup a japanese team yesterday despite playing badly.

is that true or did you make it up? my extremely brief google search showed that, based on the number of articles published about each type of event, the most "popular" summer olympics sport was athletics by a long way; volleyball was 16th. http://www.topendsports.com/world/lists/popular-sport/olympics.htm.

not hating, i like watching volleyball a lot. have you seen viewership data? can you send it? i'm genuinely curious.

The combination of the two disciplines, indoor and beach combine to be the most viewed overall sport, I believe. At least, that's what I was told by the director of Volleyball Australia.

i see. well, i can't find anything on this and, despite my near-overwhelming desire to find viewership data broken down by sport, i have to stop. one of you fuckers without a job, go look this up.

by the metric in the article i linked to, beach and indoor combined would be the 7th-most-popular sport.
