ACHES/INJURIES = none
FATIGUE = low

too much, waiting for crossfit to finish

- DLRVJ x 8
balls. i felt awesome going into this workout, great visions on the walk to the gym, but had crested by the time the bastards had finished their cross training. nothing over 32.

- MR half tuck x 20

- squat 300 x 5,5,5
solid, last rep a little grindy but not awful

- pull up x 8,8,6+2

- walk home

- stretch

apparently the gym closes at 9 on fridays now, so i got kicked out before i could get to core or stretching. gonna do that now.

"Shit". I feel offended. First "gay", now "shit". Seriously, stop it!

in your attempts at humor, you have failed.

when i want to time myself i hold the stopwatch in one hand, click the button, and immediately start after clicking. i imagine that's a little less generous than "first movement" and allows for some consistency.

sorry about continuing the hijack, but adarq's journal didn't get to 300 pages without a few of 'em.  :P

Just a set of last few questions, as the time is getting close, i want to be prepared and am quite nervous.

1. On the back of the whey protein is said to mix crushed ice, is this necessary, or can you leave out ice.

what? that doesn't even make sense. you don't need ice.

Quote
2. Is it ok to add whey and creatine in the blender if so is it ok to add egg.

sure, if you're cool eating raw eggs. why would that not be okay?

Quote
3. Is 1 scoop of whey protein powder enough, what does it depend on?

what? enough for what? it depends on what you're using the shake for. if it's to get all your protein for a given day, then no, one scoop is not enough. if it's to get some extra calories and extra protein and you're already getting enough or almost enough protein over the course of the day, then it's plenty.

Quote
4 I also heard people putting alot of crazy stuff into the shake. what is allowed and what isn't

everything is allowed. why wouldn't something be allowed? you could put arsenic in there if you really wanted to.

Quote
5. Is this a good protein shake to use, just thought of it from the top of my head.

    1. Place 1 scoop protein powder to milk 250ml
    2. add 5g creatine
    3. add peanut butter, chocolate spread, ice cream,  cocoa powder anything with alot of calories and sugar
    4. add some fruits maybe i.e. banana's i don't usually like banana smoothie but will hold it in.

can someone post their protein shake recipe they use when doing workout such as hypertrophy.

Thanks

sounds great. here is my smoothie recipe:

handful of frozen strawberries
small handfull of frozen blueberries
two scoops whey protein concentrate
two spoonfulls of peanut butter
one banana
enough water to fill in between the frozen fruit

here is my protein shake recipe:

two cups milk
one or two scoops WPC
squirt of chocolate syrup

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that low back strength is not what's limiting your PC. 75kg is light weight. you can DL way, way, way more than that even with solid form.

post video.

also, throw away the cake and stuff. i never read eric cressey or tony gentilcore anymore, but back when i did one of the best lessons i got from them was: if it's in the house, you're probably gonna eat it. if it's not in the house, you're probably not gonna eat it. basic behavioral economics. it's much easier to restrain yourself from doing something that requires effort (putting on shoes, going outside, traveling to the store, buying something individual, carrying it home) than something that requires little or no effort (opening the fridge in your boxers and sock feet, stuffing your face).

Gym:

TKEs on leg extension: 3x20/leg@light weight

Leg curls: 3x20/leg@light weight

Calf raise machine (DL so as to not put weight on left knee): 1x40@40kgs, 2x30-35@50kgs, 1x20@30kgs

Light squats: 3x6@bar weight

Core, massive foam roll/stretch

Very light session just to get some blood flow going around the legs. Knee felt fine throughout, prob could have done squats but there's no need to rush it. I'll see how it feels on the weekend, write this week off and hopefully just start again next week.

CORRECT. somebody get hyperdunk in here to read that.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello, new member trying to dunk again
« on: September 20, 2012, 09:43:05 am »
Eh, you're getting closer to the truth. Did you really really extended your hand, like really pulling the arm out of the scapula/shoulder socket? (not literally, but you get the idea)

I guess you'd be good to fool NFL reach measurements though :P

No I didn't do it the way you describe it. You described it much better from what I read yesterday. So after doing it that way(really extending my hand) I got a measurement of 101". THANKS RAPTOR.

Oh no, I'm not trying to fool anyone. I already said I made a mistake in the above post. I joined here to learn and get advice. Everybody questioned my reach so I remeasured it to give more accurate stats. You guys were right I was wrong.

no offense was intended, for the record. we were just super confused. plus you should be thankful, means just that many fewer inches you need to dunk it again.  :highfive:

dropping those extra pounds would get you, if not most of the way, then at least a big chunk of the way there.

gay people aren't a minority? what planet do you live on? is greece like 70% gay or something? can gay people get married there? can they adopt children? is there absolutely no discrimination against them, in the workplace or elsewhere? do they, in fact, enjoy the advantages of being the group in power? and yes, one can say when you're over the border. it's when the group you are denigrating is an oppressed group, and you are in a group of power relative to that group. you and i are straight white men. we are ALWAYS in a group of power.

also, i think you misunderstood me. calling something gay makes the world worse for gays. calling someone a pussy makes the world worse for women. it's the same principle. pussy is worse.
