be careful with recommendations that exact. i think you know this, but those are ballparks you should be in, even granting that the source is reliable. stuff like that depends on body comp, age, weight, activity level day-to-day, etc.

Gotta bump in as i love statistics.
You can see the monthly stats at the bottom of this page:
http://www.adarq.org/forum/stats/

So that last chart most probably wasn't counting till June 2010, as the activity e.g. in June 2010 was similar to nowadays, about 1500 posts per month.

YES! I AM THIRD-MOST RESPECTED!

BOW BEFORE ME!!!!!!!!!!!

sweet. question about the third chart: looks like it's at 0 until july 2010. i just realized yesterday (looking at my profile, which i rarely do) that i've been a member since september 2009. is that because you only started tracking in july 2010, or because before that it really was literally just you, me, vag, mike, rip, joe, and maybe raptor and nightfly? i can't remember.

Nope, is it a character from there? I'm saving HP for when I have a child to watch it with haha.

ah well. if you'd read the books, i'd recommend an AMAZING fan fiction* of harry potter that reimagines harry as a math prodigy and dedicated rationalist who refers pretty frequently to bayes. it's actually significantly better than the original books. but not worth reading without having read those first, because you won't get 75% of the jokes.

*no, i do not ordinarily read fan-fiction. i used to read star wars novels as a kid but that was like 15 years ago.

on the other hand, bands are great for mobility exercises and stretching -- i recently started using one to warm up my shoulders and it's made a big difference in my comfort during warm up sets on the squat. previously i used my warm up sets to get my shoulders comfortable under the bar (tightness in posterior delts) but since i started using bands i've been discomfort-free from the first warm-up set.

also ab pull-downs, which i love.

but that's not the same thing as adding them to a bench press.

Not too bad. Everyone has their own thing. As long as it's somewhat organized. Your other posts looked a little too heavy on the banter before going into the workout description. Be very brief and precise when you're mentioning things like fatigue and stuff. Not sure what you would mean by rating the workout, but if that's your thing I guess.

+100. the thing you laid out looks fine but i think it'd help you to have a stricter template than that. go look at the way some other people organize their "workout done" sections: adarq's method is the archetype but people find the variation that works for them. dreyth's is good, mine is good, vag's is good.

people on here want to help you and give you advice, myself included, but sometimes it's difficult to understand what you're asking. you're in here putting in work and that's great, but speaking for myself, i don't respond because i'm often not sure what you're talking about. part of that is the language thing, of course, but we can work around that if you just try painfully hard to be clear.

here's one example of a way to organize your workout posts:

Quote
DATE
WEIGHT
RATING FOR CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM (CNS) STATUS (just a way to summarize what you meant by "sleep, fatigue, motivation")

WORKOUT:
- WARM UP

- EXERCISE 1 (sets x reps x weight/distance/height)

- EXERCISE 2 (sets x reps x weight/distance/height)

etc....

- COOL DOWN

- STRETCH

COMMENTS
PR'S

that would allow you and us to look at things in a consistent way and more easily make comparisons from day to day. also, you really need to time yourself with a stopwatch. the mississippi method is not a good substitute.

On the metro tonight:

Two black men, one married, two children, the other, 31 years young, begin talking about the younger generation. The 31year old laments: "damn dees mothafuckas like, e'erbody be lesbians now, e'erbody be fags."

jaj what.

 :wowthatwasnutswtf:

serious. not paraphrased. he also talked about skinny jeans in relation to this problem, and then the economy and something about how mothafuckas in this country who can't count to 10 in english should not be working here. said "mothafuckas" a lot.

get this man a cable news show.

spent 45 minutes or so tonight foam rollering and then alternating bodyweight BSS for ~20 reps with stretching. also did some calf raises. did not do enough this weekend in general to get the juices flowing. need to be better about getting some exercise and stretching in on off days.
