does it pinch/restrict range of motion when you do this?

On your back with pillow under knees would resemble sitting... I think that would stretch the glutes and really shorten the hip flexors.

they are only raised buy a few inches, i started doing it when i had a stress fracture in my spine cos it relieved the pain and never stopped it...

but what you say might be right, my hip flexors/glute activation is causing me problems.

what about the pillows vs no pillows argument? (yeah i used to browse that terrible growtaller forum haha, tonnes of threads on stuff like this)

sleep on side, legs bent with pillow between knees = win

or on your back with pillows under knees

ok so, try to sleep at 4am, been trying to fix my sleep schedule for a few weeks now.. got it down from 6am to 4-4:30 am.. but sleep sucks now, i wakeup way too much.. so i've gone back to using melatonin to try and help me get a better night's sleep, but that shuts me down mentally when i'm dunking.. i've noticed that when i use melatonin, the next day i just can't get into that 4th or 5th gear.. i consider myself to have 5 gears while dunking.. when i get lack of sleep, sometimes i'm fine, i can still tap into that ability.. but when i use melatonin, even if i get alot of sleep, much of the time i end up just being unable to psyche up at all, i can literally feel this "haze" in my brain.. i just can't get into 4th or 5th gear, usually can't even get into 4th, like today... whenever i have this "burning feeling in my eyes", i'm just fucked, nothing i can do to have a primed workout, and with my goals, i need to be primed every god damn day.. im fucking up..

I'm just trying to wrap my head around your diet.

diet = protein/water-drink + gatorade-drink, dunking + protein/gatorade-drink, protein/water-drink + green-tea, protein/water-drink, running with dog, green tea + 3 eggs + tons of egg whites + 2 cheese, protein/water-drink, protein/water-drink, stacked turkey & cheese sandwich on pumpernickel + 2 full gatorades in 16oz water.

Why so much protein?.... So little carbs (energy)?. No fruit & veg?. So your taking a top multi-vit?. Where are your minerals?.

Why so much gatorade?. Is that a sugar drink?.

2 full gatorades?. That right before bed?.

x2

did you always eat like this when you were boxing and stuff?

hmm ive tried all this it just wont contact with my knee on ground and foot behind! thing is its only one as well if it was both id think it was normal.

will carry on with bridges and stretches and see if i can improve it...

just wondering though i never noticed this before...and then when i did my ankle i had a good few weeks with no weight on that leg at all, on crutches with a cast....maybe it became 'deactivated' or something?

nice! i was whinging in my journal the other day looking for a plyo program to follow and then you post this  :D going to start it once exams are done and i have some more time

would it be fine to do this the day after lower body lifts assuming no ridiculous soreness/fatigue or should i give a rest day/do it before strength training? also what about including aerobic/anaerobic work with this and lifting...do it on the same day after plyos or rest days/after strength training?

sorry a bit jumbled up hope you can understand what i mean

yeah i guessed it was just a bit gimmicky to rely on a food for enhanced brain function!

hmm i have full sylabusses with everything i need to know listed so the choosing a bit to learn each time shouldnt be a problem just got to stop being lazy and get it done no excuses!

group work = fail though for me, understand how some people would find it useful but nah im very much an individual worker when it comes to stuff like this

thanks for the reply some nice points

is there any foods/diet types/supps that are good for concentration/focus?

sounds ridiculous but worth a try you never know someone out there might credit there whole bunch of academic achievements to some food no ones heard of before!

i saw them 'FOCUS FOOD' bars or something on defrancoes and they claimed it made guys want to actaully go and study...wuuut!? lol

DONT get the HOOP CHUTE its awful broke within less than a week! but while it worked it halved the time i spent shooting and it only rebounded made shots...

one of them 'The Gun' by shootaway would be awesome but im guessing it would cost 1000s just to ship here

i find reverse lunges much better than normal lunges and bss better than both...

ive always done these with dumbells though, how much of a difference is there with the bar on your back?

733
Hmm makes sense but still glute is completely dormant when hip flexors are stretched...i wouldnt even have noticed it was like this if i didnt do that stretch....there doesnt seem to be any difference in strength apart from my right leg rvj being a good few inches below my left...but thats normal i believe...

i think i have really tight hip flexors and once i loosen them up glutes will become more active..maybe its that its fully stretched already and by contracting my glute it would stretch it too much and damaged it so my body involuntarily decides to deactivate it..?

anyway ill do sl glute bridges and birddog stuff + carry on with stretch and see if it improves...

that website is nice though thanks for the reply

persuade a relative to keep chickens... FREE EGGS!  :D

735
when i do the basic hip flexor stretch....

i can contract my left glute fine and it helps me stretch the hips out better...yet its impossible for me to contract my right glute? i just cant do it....it fires fine in other exercises i think...but this...its non-existant...

any ideas as to why this is? and im guessing its something that needs to be sorted out....single leg glute bridges etc?
