ACHES/INJURIES: left foot making its presence known but not uncomfortable. mid-back tender and feeling like it wants to seize up but i did some stretching and such and i think it's okay. had the same problem last time i was in kabul but the spasm went full-blast then. must be a consequence of the travel.

these are my thoughts, copied from a post i made on lyle's forum:

Quote
It was the worst movie I've seen in a long, long time. I can't remember the last time I had the impulse to walk out on a movie but if I'd been alone I would have. Bored me to tears, almost none of the jokes were funny, nothing happens, every scene is 1/3 too long. That's the same problem Peter Jackson had with King Kong, btw. A director is too busy smelling his own shit particles and massaging his balls while moaning sweet nothings to himself to listen to his editor saying, "Hey, Quentin, I don't think this sequence needs to be quite that long."

By about halfway through I couldn't wait for it to be over and it just kept grinding along, to my mounting disbelief. The female character was a vacuous, trembling, empty hot body. Sam Jackson was not even a tiny bit funny. I wanted to slap the various people in the theater who laughed every time he opened his mouth. "Oh! Look! A black man dressed as an older black man said something disrespectful to a white man in a movie about slavery! SWEET MOTHER OF MARY WHAT HUMOR!" God even the music was awful. I love Rick Ross as much as the next suburban-bred white kid but what the fuck was that song doing in there, thrusting its dick in your face after an hour and 45 minutes of setting-appropriate music?

The only redeeming qualities were the charisma of Waltz, Foxx and DiCaprio, who are all fun to watch. Especially Waltz. But all-in-all, what an atrocious shit dribble of a movie.

For the record, I'm not generally a Tarantino hater. I liked Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown and the Kill Bills a lot.

what's your time-under tension on those heavy calf raises? i wonder if it's worthwhile including heavy holds as assistance work for squats, leaving aside the calf raise part.

last night:

WEIGHT:???
SORENESS: none
ACHES/INJURIES: none really
MENTAL STATE: happy, tired but not exhausted

- lacrosse ball peanut SMR and mobility/stretching x 50 minutes
focus on t-spine, shoulder external rotation, hip flexor/groin, and quads

gonna start logging these like workouts, complete with W/S/A/M listing, to help keep myself honest.

another squat PR 7x280. My legs feel like they can do more at this point but 280 is digging in my back hard by rep 7.

Maybe its my skirt getting caught in my panties?

or maybe it's your back telling your brain that if you push it harder you're going to injure it.

no, don't do that. HIIT is draining, use your recovery days to recover. work hard on the days when you're supposed to work hard, take it easy on the days you're supposed to take it easy. if you want to do cardio those days, skip rope or go for a bike ride or something.
