That makes me remember something:

When I was jumping very high with very little strength, that always occured after a GREAT warmup and never without a warmup. My vert was so low with warming up (lower than now). But the thing was - I was also doing STATIC stretching before my jumps. You know, just because our sports teacher forced us to...

But what if that's actually beneficial? I mean, I know it's going to temporarily make you weaker, but I was jumping great like 20 minutes after that occured (and also being warmed up greatly).

Well good luck, but for a 45+ you'll need to train 5 years or more I suppose without having major injury difficulties, with great nutrition and great training...

I've talked about this theory of mine some time ago on TVS, but here it is again:

Box height / VJ (cm):

30 / 60
40 / 70
50 / 75
60 / 72

If we're to listen to the "general consensus", the optimal box height for this athlete is 50 cm, since off that box he gets the highest subsequent VJ (75 cm). But in my opinion, maybe he should use the 60 cm box where the inhibition starts to take place, that being the 60 cm box since the subsequent VJ is 72 cm there (-3 cm).

That should teach this athlete that it's OK to load more eccentrically so adaptations occur.

What do you guys think?

PS. I think this could work but it might be even more injury prone than a regular depth jumps since probably the landing mechanics are compromised, and this kind of destroys my concept.

Gotta mean something. Either bad for me or good for vag, or both.

2 questions:

1) How do i jump higher when my PR is 34,5'' , this season best is 33,5'' and you jumped 36'' a few weeks ago?
2) How do you squat more when you did PRed at 140x1 last week and i PRed at 3x1x145 ?

But lets just say that our numbers are very good for both!  :highfive:  :strong: :ibsquatting:

1) I meant off two feet. My PR jump off two feet with runup and everything is 31-32 inches. Off one leg, that's another story.
2) You did? That's great. I'm probably at that level as well if I go balls to the wall. But you still jump more even with that.
