if you are careful and deliberate about your diet, you can add a lot of weight without putting on a lot of fat.

yeah rippetoe talks about this, too, in starting strength. "spreading the floor" has been a good cue for me in the past when i feel myself being a unstable.

btw i just realized that starting strength is currently the 741st best-selling book on amazon, which means it's selling something like 800-1000 copies a month. rippetoe publishes the book himself, so he's probably netting like $10k/month just on starting strength sales. not too shabby, especially if you live in BFE, texas.

if you have taken him on as your coach, you should do what he says and not listen to anything anyone on here says to the contrary. i am unsure how jump squats will cure your cancer of leaning forward and having too strong a back, and also i was unaware that "too strong back" was a problem for you. i think i'm reading it wrong.

well you could compete in PL or something in the meantime.

and i bet if you focused harder on cutting some fat and got down to maybe 220 or 230 you'd do pretty well at CF. although i guess i don't see you doing muscle ups, handstand push ups, double unders, and some of the other stuff that really improves with concentrated practice.

WEIGHT: ???
SORENESS: none
ACHES/INJURIES: left quad tweaky during warm ups but it went away fast
MENTAL STATE: tired but amped for the workout, especially once i could see the lightning in the distance

- warm up

- avishek SL bounds x 2

- SLRVJ and DLRVJ x 40-50

- run home in the pouring rain

fuck the weather. in particular, fuck thunderstorms that decide to hit right smack dab in the middle of when i'm having a good workout. jumps were better than my last track workout (friday). i went straight to them because i saw the storm coming and jumping is more important than sprinting. now i'm going to do some sprint drill type stuff in my house and maybe some core stuff and then stretch/mobility.
