Well there are many benefits.

For one, squats build core strength. Secondly, the power you get (whole body power) is still hip initiated in general, and core generated/managed. Thirdly, a good leg strength base is the foundation on which upperbody is based on in terms of good stability for good power generating. And quartedly, the more lean muscle in general you have the more irradiation effect you have.

Where I'm going here is sports. If you do pullups/chinups/pushups etc just for the sake of good looking, then all I said is pretty much nullified.

I could always do KB swings well, hip initiated, because the arms are being kept straight and the KB is going foward. I could never understand how can you do power cleans or snatches, where the arm bends, without involving the arms.

Like I said, the irradiation effect is really a core generated effect.

Sorry but what is the irradiation effect?

It's the overall body potentiation effect that contracting the abs, glutes and forearm muscles gives you.

To which gentleman in particular are you referring?

He sees our entire forum as a collective individual presence.

Progress Journals & Experimental Routines / Re: THE DREAM JOURNAL
« on: March 06, 2011, 06:44:12 am »
I had a series of weird dreams last night:

1) I was at home and it was raining from the "side" (you could see the raindrops go at a 45 degree angle) and there was also bright sun out on one side and a dark storm cloud on another side, and then three or four tornadoes came and were destroying pretty much everything in their way, while I was looking from my apartment window... that was really scary

2) Then I was in Geneva (Swiss) with Nightfly and we were going to catch a subway train, and there were long stairs down all the way to the subway station, so I just dropped from the top all the way to the bottom, and it actually "hurt" me, like I felt pain. So I was like "damn, I never felt pain while doing this in dreams". So I was both aware that I'm dreaming and also that I had similar dreams before and the drops never hurted.

3) Then while in Geneva, this time with a neighbor of mine, Sergiu, we were buying some stuff from a store, and everybody was suspicious since we were from Romania, they thought we were going to steal stuff.  Then I payed 10 euros for my stuff (it was 9.67 or so), gave them to the sales guy, and then he starts reading something in magyar (hungarian). And he was really struggling to look like he has any idea about what he's reading...

And I'm like "um... could you please read it in English?" and he said that he thanks us for buying stuff from his store and gives me 8 euros back. Apparently, that's what happens in civilized countries, I told to myself.

Then I went around the store and found pink ice-cream with chocolate "throw-ins" and all kinds of stuff, then went on through Geneva to walk and that was the dream...

Yes they are, at least those done correctly.
