And today was the day to compete at 4 the challenge of the challenge challenge due to my preparation there in gv, I knew I would have a good performance around here, because the result comes from training, but I never imagined that I would win 4 consecutive Luck, combination, coincidence,.....? I don't know, I just know they still haven't managed to run below 3:20 / km and I'm getting it. If I'm going to keep winning, I also don't know, because more important than coming in the first general, is to enjoy the benefits provided by this sport with joy as I Also show the world that for sports practice age has no influence.

Today, it was more suffered, the level was high, cross on the grass with high elevation and curves. But it still gave us a good time. With right to arrive inside a crowded football stadium.
Thank you all for your support.

I made him WORK ... HARD. When he past me, he was breathing so hard. Just so much experience and he wanted it more. But I pushed him to the limit today. Almost got him. Was hoping he'd just crack come 2 miles but i guess since he was slowly gaining on me after say, 1.5, it gave him some confidence. Can't crack a dude like that too easy... instead, I cracked.

LMFAO.

but ya, nice to know I really gave him a scare.. I was hoping that 2 miler would crush his spirit. Too much of a pro...

btw....... this park I raced at, never heard of it before. It seems pretty popular in the Football scene. Tons of pros show up there to hold camps, support the youth/h.s. games etc, workout, etc. Lots of crazy clips on IG.

Ives Estates Park

instagram.com/explore/locations/647785650/ives-estates-park/

just a few NFL'rs to show up:

Gronk, Vick, Sio Moore, Le'Veon Bell

Ocho Cinco out there filming:

Also, this dude has some nutty videos: a footwork/speed guy

instagram.com/goldfeetglobal/

some jets WR

him with pros @ Carter Park (my fav track/park)

I can't find the video I saw earlier of the trainer himself, but man he's explosive/crazy coordinated...

Look at this fu*kn dude, he's kind of nuts:

People doing boxing training out there:

Welcome to Miami......................... athletics.

anyway .. solid park for some LONG grass runs.. i could def see myself going out there on a weekend and getting in some 20 milers on grass, lots of stuff to keep me pre-occupied.

they posted a clip of the start .. got a few seconds of run footage in:

^^ kinda cool right.. go do a race, find out about all kinds of cool stuff. ehehe.

this was basically an "XC 5k" .. it's fucking sub18 for sure. 18:05 official can fuck off.

solid 5k for an XC run ... had several small hills and such, thick patches of grass, small sections of road, lots of patchy grass etc.

happy about run.

seems like a surprisingly high number of races include some kind of logistical clusterfuck. i don't get it, as a race organizer you have one job: make a course that people can run along for a period of time. how hard can that be? especially if it's not the first time you've organized a particular event.

yea man .. :/ it also doesn't help that I have some shitty eyesight. In one race I couldn't see the turnaround markers, and no one was there to say HEY TURN AROUND HERE (in a 5k/5 mile combo). The 5k 2 weeks ago was just "measured wrong". The 10k last week was pretty solid. The half marathon I ran was short for pretty much everyone. People who got a huge PR official, didn't even get a half marathon time on strava because it was like 13.08 not 13.1. Measuring a course that long is one thing, runners potentially hitting turns incorrectly or tangenting "too officially" could explain it, but I doubt it. That instance just seemed short.

this race was very well organized (people everywhere directing) until the very end. Once we got to the "final turn", we hit a huge patch of field with absolutely no direction & no sign of the finish (it was behind a small forest), cones going one way, trash canes lined up going another, and a secret set of cones making a HARD RIGHT to the finish area (which none of us took). I went around following the wrong cones, third place followed me. I didn't know where 1st went but he kind of went in the right direction and then he's hopping a fence and sprinting to the finish.

absolutely nuts.

so ya, funny but frustrating. I mean whatever, official 5k PR would have been nice.. but it's not like I won't crush this effort on a road or something, so it doesn't really bug me.

my last "0.15" was at 6:15 min/mi pace or something.. at one point i stopped completely looking where to go. eh. wrecked.

what does bug me though.. is how 1st OA got 17:17 and I got 18:05......... and I was like 10-12s behind him. I can admittedly say that is bothering me. Because on paper it looks like I got dusted. That's fucking annoying. :raging: :raging: :raging: :raging: legit annoyed by that. I "shouldn't have left it up to the judges" tho ... should have gotten the KO. fuck.

most races are pretty solid.

anyway, lame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe the lesson here is: find more track meets & enter some! :ninja: :ibrunning:

redemption fail. had a huge lead on him after 1, 1.5, he closed it a bit by 2, then at 2.5 or so he got me. lmfao.

2 OA.

after hes like damn you must have a fast mile. lol.

the end was nuts, total confusion, we all got wrecked, but it worked out in 1oa's favor.. go figure. hah

2 mile pr and should be a 5k unofficial/official pr if it werent for the clusterfu*k.

Hit short term goal of weighing below 200! Now I can celebrate by starting to play some basketball for fun, cardio, and some extra calories to burn. Not as worried being this weight and balling.

nice!! sub200 sounded like a good goal, leaning up always helps. good stuff!

in legit local runner news, the guy that organizes the Loco Rio track workouts/long runs got 2nd OA at this big 10 miler today:

http://accuchip.racetecresults.com/Results.aspx?CId=16337&RId=210

59:45 @ 49 years old...... he beat some LEGIT people. pretty interesting. He's been on an absolute steam roll since November 2017.

Also what's funny is, he's the guy that kind of dislikes my race strategy etc but seems to be coming around to it a bit more... so, he said he wanted to go out at ~6:15 pace for this race, but there were so many good people there that it forced him to go out at 5:5X LMFAO. So uh......... they forced you to go hard huh? and you did? and you dropped an insane performance?? ... gj. lol.

dude is legit tho, from 5k upwards.. apparently his 15k today would have got him top3 in the florida 15k championships for 45-49 or something. He's going to be a monster at 50+, could end up being one of the top dudes in the state or who knows, maybe bigger.

He hit a 17:32 5k recently but he started out at like 6:00 pace & ended with like a 5:26 mile.. he does the most insane negative splits. I def think he's a sub17 5k, sub36 10k, sub1:20 half guy. Probably could drop a sub5 mile too if he stopped thinking he was "slow". People are so weird. lmao.

but ya, we don't see eye to eye for the most part but, mad respect. dude is on a tear.

really nice video from last year's Schiffy 5k, the one i''m doing tomorrow:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNUGDQXqZr0

also, looks like there's enough road for me to try a race in my saucony endorphin racer v2's, instead of my XC flats.

says it's "one loop", so probably shouldn't be too many turns. probably going to be a fast course.

i fly on grass .. i really think i have an advantage on grass compared to most of the road runners around here jajaa. like, i really enjoy/love it & feel faster.

last year's top 3 were sub19 i think so, shouldn't be a slow race. regardless, i'm going out at low 17's pace (hopefully).

that guy who won the 10k last week, he's weird.. on FB, he posts that he wins etc, but lies about his times. I don't get it.. it's very odd. I think he's age-grading his times or something? very weird. (he's done it like 3 times since i've friended him on FB)

or maybe i'm missing something?

E mais uma vez conseguir cruzar a linha de chegada em primeiro lugar geral nos 5 km. Aqui no Sul da Florida. É a terceira prova do Desafio das 8 previstas. Tempo: 16:55

Agora descansar porque amanhã tem mais

all i know is both posts say 16:55..

the reason why I think he deliberately lies about his times? He doesn't post the screenshot of the times:

he cuts it off..

17:34 official 5k according to the results, which is still flying.

people are weird man. :/

Also for what it's worth, I looked up the results because I wanted to see Bryan Gonzalez's time. Young dude, going to be pretty fast I think. I've raced him a few times and wanted to see if he dropped a serious time:
